We're Not Experts
We’re Not Experts is a podcast hosted by two guys who’ve somehow survived 15+ years of friendship and now think that qualifies them to talk into microphones. We’re average early 30’s dudes with very strong opinions and very average credentials—which is exactly the point.
We’re sports ethicists in the loosest sense of the term, breaking down the morals, madness, and mayhem of a wide variety of sports… but let’s be honest: football will absolutely hijack the conversation. We can talk about other sports. We just won’t stop talking about football.
Expect passionate debates, hot takes that cool off immediately, arguments that go nowhere, and the occasional moment of clarity that surprises everyone—including them. Stats may appear. Logic might leave the room. Confidence will always be high.
We’re not analysts. We’re not insiders. We’re definitely not experts.
We’re just two longtime friends talking sports the way most people do—too confidently, for too long, and with absolutely no credentials to back it up.
We’re Not Experts — and neither are you, so you’ll fit right in.

Football is still a week away... so why is the NFL already this damn chaotic? Aaron Donald is back, players are hitting the Commissioners list, contracts are getting held hostage, and somehow Walter Nolen is supposed to be Aaron Donald. The chaos starts now.
Welcome back. We're not experts, episode 38. I got a lot to talk about today.
SPEAKER_00But first, I have a lot to talk about today.
SPEAKER_02I would like to sit over here and thank my general manager, Justin Butler.
SPEAKER_00I had a tall task this weekend.
SPEAKER_02I unfortunately had to work during one of my fantasy drafts. So what do I do? I called my boy. Phone a friend. I said, hey man, I need you to draft for me. And he did. He got me a good team. We were in a I mean it's a 14-team redraft league. So I mean, we were drafting at the 13th spot. Wasn't great. But I think, you know, he did his thing. Justin Jefferson at 13 was crazy. So I want to extend my thanks.
SPEAKER_00Hey man, I did what I could. I had I had the pressure was on. I woke up off literally maybe two hours of sleep. I was just excited. I'm glad that you spent a lot of time just thinking about man, what if I draft my boy a bad team?
SPEAKER_02I mean, the jury is still out. The season hasn't started.
SPEAKER_00Well, you know, it's funny because we can start by with this leading into like our first topic, because there was a very pivotal point in that draft.
SPEAKER_02Oh my God. Because it was a long time.
SPEAKER_00There was a look, I was looking at the board and I'm like, Bucky Irvin's kind of a risky pick. It is still risky. Yeah, 100%. I saw that Josh Jacobs was on the board, and part of me was like, man, Josh Jacobs is not going to get suspended till the end of the year because, you know, the legal process is going to work its way out. Maybe I like his ceiling more than I like Bucky.
SPEAKER_02Dude, first off, not only did you not take Jacobs, thank God, but then you came back later and got Matthew Golden, which look, say what you want about Jordan Love.
SPEAKER_00I think Golden's got the highest upside of Tennessee on that team.
SPEAKER_02Jordan Love's about to have to be the guy.
SPEAKER_0040 a game. 40 pass attempts.
SPEAKER_02I'm not saying that he can't do that. I think he probably can do that. I don't hate Jordan Love. I just, it's it ended up working out in our favor that you ended up getting Matthew Golden later on.
SPEAKER_00I very, I was very thoughtful in my entire process of this draft.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, got Jordan Tyson in the 10th, stash him on IR, pick up the phone.
SPEAKER_00Getting him in like the 140s, get him in like the 140s compared to like his ADP was like 90. I was like, oh. Like I was just sitting there and I was like, nobody's gonna take a chance on this guy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You know, fantasy football is about risk. Yeah. It is a risk game. I just thought about it.
SPEAKER_00I was like, at this point, I could take a you know, a backup quarterback or you know, somebody that's not gonna play. Like it's gonna be like a wide receiver three for most of the season. And I was just like, well, how about I just take a flyer here?
SPEAKER_02And look, you made one mistake. You drafted Trevor Lawrence. That's okay, though, because you double back, you got my boy late in the draft. I'm high on Shuck. Tyler Shuck.
SPEAKER_00I did kind of fat finger the Trevor Lawrence.
SPEAKER_02Here's the thing is if Jordan Tyson comes back and he's actually the guy, then you've got a potential stack.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's fantastic.
SPEAKER_00I think Shuck can have a good year. I mean, Olave stays healthy. Yeah, dude.
SPEAKER_02You got ATN, his like what did he play? Eight games, seven games last year. His like 17-game pace was like 4,200 yards and like 30-something touchdowns, like with like 400 rushing yards. Like he was he was solid.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and and one thing to kind of defend, which I mean I accidentally picked Trevor Lawrence. Yeah, that's fine. Because I I was gonna go Jaden Daniels.
SPEAKER_02And who's to even say that that's a better pick?
SPEAKER_00I was moving too quick. Yeah. And then after I drafted Trevor Lawrence, I was like, fuck. Jaden Daniels is on the board. Like Jaden Daniels. And then the first thing that went through my mind was like, he's been hurt both seasons that he's played. Like he has the higher upside. But he's got the lower floor, yeah, for sure. Trevor and Trevor Lawrence is fresh off of an MVP season. And with the loss of ETN.
SPEAKER_02MVP type season.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, an MVP. Like a like a he played good. Yeah, right. Yeah, I didn't mean MVP. Obviously, we know Stafford won that. And they're gonna be free. But I mean Trevor Lawrence played great. And once again, going back to previous conversations, we've had like Trevor Lawrence outside of the times when he was hurt, and he had Urban Myers, pretty much has played, you know, around the 10th best quarterback in the league, healthy. Yeah, I'm not mad about it. So, you know, he's got some upside there. Like you still have got Parker Washington, Travis Hunter, Brian Thomas Jr., Jacoby Myers gonna come back healthy.
SPEAKER_02Who have the weapons.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, I I like Trevor Lawrence.
SPEAKER_02We we but I wanted to I wanted to thank you. Yeah, hey man. That way the computer didn't do it.
SPEAKER_00I did feel good. You know, it also made me feel good that you believed in me enough to put that kind of burden on me. Because fantasy is important. I don't know. I mean, not to say I wouldn't trust you. We're playing for cheddar. I wouldn't say that I wouldn't have trusted you to draft my team. It's just I would have just found a way to make it happen.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there was just no way.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, right. I would have called out of work though. Yeah, I could have. I would have. I'm a dirtbag. I left work early today to record this pod. I had to clock out of a job early that I didn't like to clock in early on a job that I do like. I feel it.
SPEAKER_02I feel it. We can uh let's talk Josh Jacobs, man. Yeah, that's a big development. So he gets added to the commissioner's exempt list.
SPEAKER_00And I think the last pod was right when they announced like the charges, right?
SPEAKER_02Well, it was like reduced charges, though. This is what's weird about it is like it was reduced charges, and you think that they're just gonna let the legal process unfold and then boom, the commissioner's look, we don't know anything, right? Like we don't like there, like he could be taken off the commissioner's exempt list tomorrow. Yeah, he very well could. It's unlikely.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, I was reading something earlier that was saying that like they're not sure if he's gonna play this season. I'm saying that here's what I'm saying. Which I guess the good thing with it is is if let's just say, you know, he's on the commissioner's exempt list for 10 weeks and then they're like, all right, it's played itself out, eight, ten game suspension, whatever, he gets to come back in. He doesn't have to like go suspend it again. Yeah, you get your time served for that. But one, that's a huge look loss for Green Bay, especially considering that Micah's gonna be out for like the first what, like four to six weeks of the season, too. Yeah. Well, you couple that with like Josh Jackson, like you said, bro, Jordan Love's got his work cut out for him.
SPEAKER_02Maybe. I mean, they still had Marshawn Lloyd, they went and traded for my boy.
SPEAKER_00Caleb Johnson, you were a believer in him. And it's funny that we had like a conversation's not dead. Talking about how bad Caleb Johnson looked in preseason. The dream's not dead yet. I mean, look, some people believe that schemes are what makes players good. So he's going to a scheme, quotations, where he should have some success if he gets the opportunity to be the running back one. I mean, I don't see it.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, no, I mean he's definitely the third guy on the depth chart as of today.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, I don't see him ever being a starting running back there, even if Jacobs is cooked.
SPEAKER_02But it just feels like he has more life now than he did in Pittsburgh. My thing on Josh Jacobs is is the NFL definitely know something.
SPEAKER_00That not even Green because Green Bay came out and said they haven't seen the video.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You think the NFL has?
SPEAKER_02If it would look, it's the only thing that would make sense. Yeah, they're like, we're gonna get ahead of this. Like, this is gonna come out at some point.
SPEAKER_00I just feel like why put them on the if you saw if they saw the video, why not just like suspend them, like work on that instead of putting him on the commissioner's exemption list? Because the the way that I feel about it, it almost makes me feel like you know, they lowered the charges because it's Josh Jacobs.
SPEAKER_02Here's why I think they do it. Because if there is a video and the video does come out, I think there's a chance he might not ever play again.
SPEAKER_00Depending on how bad it is. Because I was reading something earlier and it said it said that uh like the police had saw the video, like when it it like aligned with everything that like the woman was saying had happened. Problem with it is only part of it is on video, allegedly.
SPEAKER_02I mean, if look, if the video comes out, there's a good chance I think he's done.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it could very well be like a Ray Rice situation. Obviously, we don't know. But Matt LaFleur said there were many conversations, obviously, and certainly don't know all the details, but what he tells me, I believe him and I trust in him. And I'm going to do that until proven otherwise.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean I get it. You're gonna stand for your guy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And you say I've got a love and care, and I've got a lot of love and care and respect for how he is as a person, who he is as a teammate. Obviously, it's an unfortunate situation, but one that we have to deal with. I don't know. Just one of those guys that say if he actually did this, wouldn't really sit over here and call somebody who beat his woman a great person. I just feel like good people don't do that. I don't know. Never really been in that situation.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I don't know. It'll be interesting to see how it unfolds. That it's a huge loss for Green Bay. Maybe it's not, though. Maybe Marshawn Lloyd is the guy. Nah, nah. I don't think he is. He definitely can't stay healthy.
SPEAKER_00So is that lower? Because uh I think one of us talked about the Packers taking a step back this year in their predictions, and one of us was saying that they were gonna be good. I think I was the one that said they were taking a step back.
SPEAKER_02This would definitely help in the step back process.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, no Jacobs, obviously, I feel like we would both agree that we don't think either one of them are a playoff team, right?
SPEAKER_02I think the Packers could still make the playoffs.
SPEAKER_00I don't know, man. It's just like, look, you lose Romeo Dobbs. Yes, you got Christian Watson, Matthew Golden. I mean, I just don't have it, I don't see anything that I love from like a weaponry standpoint. Jaden Reed.
SPEAKER_02I like Jaden Reed.
SPEAKER_00He's all he's hurt all the time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. They don't really play him. They're not gonna be playing him in two wide receiver sets. I mean, look, they're gonna probably be playing more three wide receiver sets now, though.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that is true. All right. Tucker Kraft, I mean, he kind of like exploded for like half before he got hurt. He was sick. Yeah, I mean, who do we don't know if he continues to like keep that progression like going up?
SPEAKER_02It'll really just it really just it depends on what Marshawn Lloyd is. You kind of know what Chris Brooks is, he's a solid backup. Caleb Johnson. A little bit of a wild card there. Caleb Johnson. Maybe give him some, maybe give him 10 rushing attempts. Like you said, man, you're never wrong. Just early. Just early. Uh Jonathan Cooper also got added to the commissioner's exempless. His case was seemed a little bit more open and shut. It was also DV, domestic violence.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02His was crazier, though.
SPEAKER_00Way crazier.
SPEAKER_02His was way crazier. Yeah. Well, maybe not. I don't know. I don't who knows. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I mean There's no video of it, allegedly. Beating ass and getting in trouble and spinning the block and beating ass again is crazy. I mean, that is nuts. I don't think that's worse than getting beating beating somebody, beating up a girl twice is a lot is worse than beating it.
SPEAKER_02When you put it like that, it sounds way worse.
SPEAKER_00Look, maybe I'm reaching a little bit. Might be a little worse than the James Pierce Jr. situation. That's nuts, too. Who knows what James Pierce would have done had he spun the block?
SPEAKER_02He didn't get the opportunity. Got arrested.
SPEAKER_00Well, he decided to stay away.
SPEAKER_02The cops got to him. I guess that's true. If he spins the block, he goes to the ball. He couldn't go back. I mean, she's a WNBA player. She's moving around the country.
SPEAKER_00He's probably got some security. Yeah. I don't know, man. There's a will, there's a way.
SPEAKER_02We uh this is some pretty big news, too. This is huge news, actually. I mean, it's it's Aaron Donald. He's back.
SPEAKER_00They cut him a bag. I was expecting you say Aaron Donald's coming back. I'm thinking, oh shit. Give him a one-year little minimum deal. First off, how the fuck do they have $20 million of just free cap space floating around at this point?
SPEAKER_02Shout out Stan Cronky. No, like only $10 million is going on the cap. It's like a $20 million signing bonus.
SPEAKER_00Stan Cronkey's got the bread. He does. Clearly. I mean, clearly paying $10 million cash isn't that big of a deal because, I mean, he just bought another sports team today.
SPEAKER_02Hey, man, shout out to the Los Angeles Angels fans. You have a hope. You have hope.
SPEAKER_00Seriously, because I mean, God, you look at all of his other teams. They do some winning. The Nuggets, champions.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00The Avalanche.
SPEAKER_02Champions.
SPEAKER_00The Rams. Champions. Yeah. You got somebody who's willing to risk it, who wants to win. I mean, really, you talk about from an owner perspective for the Angels. If I'm an Angels fan, I would be excited.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's not just, it's not just that either, though. I mean, he's got like the Rapids. I mean, they're champions in the past. Like we're talking about real sport leagues. I like the Abella.
SPEAKER_00It's just a joke.
SPEAKER_02I went, I went, we went to a me and E went to a Rapids game and sat in a box. Probably pretty nice. It was very nice. Free food, free beer.
SPEAKER_00There we go. It was lit.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, what more could you ask for? It was so nice. It was so nice. The food was good. Yeah, it was excellent.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you know, Aaron, we've Aaron Donald, what does that do? Like, what do you expect from him? What kind of season do you expect?
SPEAKER_02Look. He's definitely gotta get back into football shape, but he never really got out of shape shape. Like, this is a guy that trains rigorously.
SPEAKER_00Regularly for no problem. Yeah. Just for fun.
SPEAKER_02I mean, it was what a couple years ago he invited Jared Verse to train with him, and Jared Verse is like, yo. I can't do that. Yeah, this dude's crazy.
SPEAKER_00So, you know, like you think like 80% prime AD or 70%?
SPEAKER_02I think he's 36. Is he damn, is he that old? Yeah. I uh, you know, he's he's probably gonna still be pretty good.
SPEAKER_00Like, I mean, I feel like at a time, it's not like he can double. I feel like Aaron Donald at 70% of his peak is still a top five defensive tackle.
SPEAKER_02Well, and it's like it's a different situation, too, because like you got Miles Miles Garrett on the edge, like you still have Puna Ford, like Byron Young.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that front four is gonna be incredible.
SPEAKER_02It's insane.
SPEAKER_00So, I mean, you you can't double him. You double Miles Garrett, you got Aaron Donald one-on-one, along with three other good players right beside him. Yeah, you you can't double team Donald and Miles Garrett.
SPEAKER_02Here is I don't I don't know how you feel about the super team thing.
SPEAKER_00So, like if you asked me I don't feel like that's possible in the NFL.
SPEAKER_02I mean, buddy, I the last time a team was this heavily favored, there's been 20 teams, I believe it is, to be this heavily favored for Super Bowl for the Super Bowl win, and they are 0 for 20.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, like, but of course, like if you're betting the field, 31 other teams, like right, but you're telling me that you think this team is clear-cut by far and away the best team in the league, and not one of them have won the Super Bowl. I mean, yeah, I think they are the clear-cut best team on paper.
SPEAKER_00Right. But the game's not played on paper.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you just you have some wild cards like Ken Devante Adams. Yeah, like and Devontae Adams and Matthew Stafford. If they both stay healthy, yeah, they're dead.
SPEAKER_00I mean, let's just say that they do stay healthy for hypotheticals. It's still not some cut and dry, like this team's gonna win the Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_02Vegas has them at plus 500 to win the Super Bowl. Which is crazy. Do you know what the next closest team is? Probably like plus 2,000. It's plus 1,000. It's the Bills. That is still significant difference.
SPEAKER_00The Bills being at the second highest odds to win the biggest. Well, they're tied.
SPEAKER_02It's the Bills and the Ravens. That's also surprising to me. And then the Seahawks. Then Chiefs, Eagles, and Chargers are tied. Patriots.
SPEAKER_00That's nuts. All like this whole list is surprising to me.
SPEAKER_02You got Patriots, Texans, Bengals. I think the Lions being at plus you know, 1900s kind of crazy. What are the Bears? Plus 2400.
SPEAKER_00Where are the I feel like you're missing? I miss it. Where are the Cowboys at? Plus 2500. And where are they ranked like on the list of like back to back? No, I'm saying like probably like 10 and 11 or the Texans' defense must be incredible. Because what'd you say? They had like the seventh or eighth best odds. Yeah. It is incredible. But that fucking CJ Stroud at quarterback. They got Will Anderson. That's fine. He doesn't throw the ball. Will Anderson doesn't have five interceptions the last time he saw him in a playoff game.
SPEAKER_02I mean, he could. On the defensive end.
SPEAKER_00Right. Well, you know, we saw CJ Stroud be terrible.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I uh he fucking sucks. It's just, you know, to think that the Rams are that heavily favored is crazy. Yeah. And there's a, you know, better than not chance that they don't win at all. But I think it's a legitimate super team.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. I feel like I've you compare this to like the Dodgers in baseball, it's not even close.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but what they're doing is horseshit.
SPEAKER_00But yeah.
SPEAKER_02What the Dodgers are doing is just bullshit.
SPEAKER_00I mean, well, compare it to like LeBron and the Heat when they teamed up or like NBA super teams and stuff like that. It's totally different in those sports. There's just too much parity in the NFL.
SPEAKER_02That is that, and that's why, you know, they're 0-20 when they're this big a favorite. Right. Right.
SPEAKER_00Is the parody's well not only that, you gotta be able to do that. Teams are done.
SPEAKER_02Players are good, teams are good, coaches are good.
SPEAKER_00Like I just feel like everybody's just expecting Matthew Stafford to come in this year and be this like the offense to be just as good as it was last year, and then the defense to be the best defense in the league. I think that Which is obviously a possibility.
SPEAKER_02I don't think that the offense can be as good as it was last year if the defense is as good as they think it's gonna be.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there's no need to be that good. But I mean, you know, it'll be like the year that it'll be like the year with the the Eagles, you know, when they were pulling all the starters in the third quarter and shit like that. Yeah. Because their defense was just that sick.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but I just I don't know, man. I look, I still think, like obviously, I feel like they should be the favorites. I wouldn't want to play that team in the Super Bowl. Yeah, I think that's the one. I wouldn't want to play that team ever. Look, but we you take a step back on a lens. Let's just take a step back and let's just look at the Rams last year, which granted, I mean, they've got three very massive additions that they have on this year's team from last year's team. But you look at down the stretch of that season, they lost to the Falcons towards the end of the season. They lost to the Panthers down the stretch of the season. They also in the playoffs should have lost to the Panthers. It took overtime to beat the Bears, and then you know, you lost to the Seahawks, which I mean there's no love in that, but like down the stretch of the season, that team didn't look, you know, great necessarily. Yeah. No, I mean you're right. But I think you said it's a good thing. And it feels like we're going into the scene where you would almost feel like the Rams are like the Super Bowl champions versus the Seahawks. Like that it just feels like they're the hunted.
SPEAKER_02It does feel, it does feel that way. It's like everybody just.
SPEAKER_00I don't know, man. Like, I just want I'm not about to sit over here and write this in and say that they're winning the Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_02I get that. You still gotta go through the Bears. Would you look? I told everybody to place the bet when it was like plus 900 for the Rams.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You could have you could probably already be in profit.
SPEAKER_02Free money. Yeah, you can just be cashing out right now. I I hope you did that. Because I'm not touching plus 500. I'm not either. Yeah, I'm not touching that.
SPEAKER_00I mean I would rather take that. It's not really my thing. Yeah, either. Not as a straight bet. Like, I'm not about to sit around and watch this money sit in my account for 17 weeks when I could have made like a 150 different bets to win way more money. That's you though. I'd put that in a parlay.
SPEAKER_01Like that'd be like something like I'd be a DJ in.
SPEAKER_00The fuck do I want to wait six months to 5X my money?
SPEAKER_02We uh we got some I this is all just like quick news. Keenan Allen was arrested for what was it? Uh a DWI or I think it was an OWI. Yeah. It's all the same to me. D UI, same thing. He in his defense, he wasn't actually driving the car. Well, that's good. He was just sitting in a parking lot as he he had just driven. No, I don't even know.
SPEAKER_00He was about to drive.
SPEAKER_02Probably.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and it's crazy that it's news. I mean, obviously, it's you know. What better? I mean, he was just celebrating getting a bag one more time. He was celebrating Alec Pierce, getting to coming off pup, team bonding.
SPEAKER_02They said he'll be ready for week one, by the way. Amen.
SPEAKER_00I know that makes you happy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You were looking pretty upset about your. So is Daniel Jones. Unreal. Didn't work out for the Celtics with Jason Tatum. Just want to preface that.
SPEAKER_02The the D UI he shouldn't miss any time, Keenan Allen should be able to do it. Yeah, I mean, why would we?
SPEAKER_00I mean, you know, it's not it's not like he beat his girlfriend or anything. It's true. He was just having a good time.
SPEAKER_02I believe you wrote this in here. It's the Cardinals want Walter Nolan to be their Aaron Donald in year two. As if that's an easily attainable task though. Walter Nolan only played six games and was injured. Look, the point kind of makes before you before you go on. Walter Nolan's good.
SPEAKER_00He is nice.
SPEAKER_02He's he is a good football player.
SPEAKER_00Did Aaron Donald miss six games in his career? Or no, no, no, not 10, 11.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I was gonna say play.
SPEAKER_00Did he miss 11? Did he miss 11 games in his entire career?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I don't think so. I hate that. I hate that for him. Like, I hate being compared to somebody one as great as Aaron Donald.
SPEAKER_00Which he did also say that, you know, you're not making a direct comparison. You're talking about playing the role of Aaron Donald to his team. But wouldn't the thing that's wild about that is you're saying that his role is the best defensive player of all time.
SPEAKER_02But but yeah, but wouldn't every defensive tackle in the NFL want to play the Aaron Donald role?
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, but to play that role, you gotta be fucking Aaron Donald. Right. I don't I'm sorry. I just don't not enough tape for me to make that comparison. Which, look, he was his advanced metrics were pretty good. Like the six games that he played, he did have like a 14% pressure rate. He was nice, like 13 overall pressures.
SPEAKER_02I'm pretty sure that injuries have always kind of been a thing with him, though.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and it's gonna continue to be one. So, like, you know, let's just say we're happy to have him back. We're expecting to have a big year.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, that's true too.
SPEAKER_00That's a definitely a better way to put it. I don't think the Browns are about to come in here and say, yeah, Jared Vers is gonna be our Miles Garrett. We need 23 sacks. Yeah, you're just setting the bar too high. We need 23 sacks to win three games. Let's say Walter Nolan comes out and he's, you know, not a Pro Bowl player. Well, guess what? Now you're looking at him, we're like, oh man, this guy might be a bust. You know, he's not Aaron Donald. In fact, he's not even close.
SPEAKER_02I hate that. I hate that for him.
SPEAKER_00I just thought that was funny. Yeah, I'm we gotta stop doing that.
SPEAKER_02We gotta stop doing that.
SPEAKER_00You can't coaches, and and that goes for like comparing any young player to an all-time grade is crazy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You see people coming in there and they have a great play, and they're like, oh, he just got a little Tom Brady.
SPEAKER_02Unless it's Michael Wilson to Jerry Rice.
SPEAKER_00No, we don't even like that comparison.
SPEAKER_02I don't like either.
SPEAKER_01That was the pace he was on.
SPEAKER_00Oh man, I'm sure I could go find like a like a six-game stretch for Derrick Henry where he was on pace for like 3,000 yards. Like if you take Derrick Henry's 2,000 yard campaign and take the last four games where he went for like 250 twice.
SPEAKER_02But he's in the puka roll. We got him in the puka roll.
SPEAKER_00Which puts him in the Cooper Cup. This is twice he's crowded this.
SPEAKER_01This is twice he's done this. He said the Puka Nako roll?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he said the Puka Nakula role, and then he was like the Aaron Donald Roll. Like, Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_00That's also not a guy. I look Puka Naku is also not a guy I want my Michael Wilson playing the role of, because then you're, you know, you're looking at a someone who doesn't like Jews, someone who beats allegedly, physically assaults his girlfriend. That's not a role I'd want to play. I mean, obviously we're talking about just football, but you know, maybe they should have said we want him in like an Amin Rice Brown role. You know, slot guy. Or Jerry Rice. Move around. That'd be even worse.
SPEAKER_02So Jerry Rice.
SPEAKER_00Let's just say we were gonna put we're gonna he's gonna be in the Michael Wilson 2025 last like six games of the season role.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's more realistic.
SPEAKER_00Or you just look, let's just say he's gonna be in the wide receiver one role.
SPEAKER_02Let's just this is this is funny to me. Jeff Halfley says that the season won't be measured in wins and losses. This year is about development.
SPEAKER_00And you know what? At first I hated this take, and then hearing you say that out loud, I love it.
SPEAKER_02You love it? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Fuck yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's well, look, it's setting the bar low.
SPEAKER_00Like you're not coming out here like the like my boy on the Cardinals, you know. The Rams gotta worry about us too, you know? These teams gotta worry about the Cardinals. Shout out Mac. He's saying, look, we wanna get we want our young guys to be better.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's also funny. This is a little thing about the.
SPEAKER_02I just like that he said it. I like that he's like, I know that we're gonna be terrible without saying, I know we're gonna be terrible.
SPEAKER_00I mean, he kind of said it. That's why he said it's it's not gonna be measured in wins and losses.
SPEAKER_02There's gonna be a lot of losses.
SPEAKER_00Did we go from averaging 200 yards at week one to 250 yards in week 18? That's development. It's growth.
SPEAKER_02Oh god, I hope it's not only 50 yards a game. That's not a lot of growth. That would say more about Mr. Halfley.
SPEAKER_00Well, look, I don't know. Because it's this team has a ceiling, okay? But their best, what do you see their best, their highest scoring game this this season? Just give me a number. You think you're gonna see them scoring 30?
SPEAKER_02Look, they get to play the Jets twice. They're not we're not sold on the Jets being great. Who is we? Oh, I guess that's right.
SPEAKER_00I've got Gino in the Super Bowl. I've got a conspiracy.
SPEAKER_02Or the first pick.
SPEAKER_00There's only two options.
SPEAKER_02I uh you know, so you get to play the Jets twice. I they they could score. They could they could drop 30 in a game.
SPEAKER_00I don't think so.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they're gonna be like, They just don't have the talent. They could they could score 30 30. 30 points. Yeah. I've almost because I don't want to say 35.
SPEAKER_00I've just seen better teams not score 30 in a season. That's true too. Like the Titans went multiple years without scoring 30. And they were were never as bad. Their offense has potential to be explosive.
SPEAKER_02Legitimately. The Dolphins? Like they have some explosive pieces.
SPEAKER_00They have a explosive piece.
SPEAKER_02If Malik Willis, you know, he's shown you nothing, but Brother, are you telling me that Malik Willis is explosive? He had some good games at the end of the year in Green Bay last year.
SPEAKER_00That's fine. If that is we've also seen him like play, throw the ball like his coach not want him to throw the ball more than eight times in a game.
SPEAKER_02If that's the actual Malik Willis, I could see him scoring 28 to 30 points in a game. Because their defense is gonna be awful. Like their defense is gonna be the worst.
SPEAKER_00You're telling me you're about to see the Dolphins in a shootout.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Especially I don't like if I don't do they play the Bengals? Do they play Bro, no?
SPEAKER_00Joe Burrow expects the Bengals' defense to be nice.
SPEAKER_02Did you hear what he said? That's fine. Vegas doesn't. Vegas knows a little bit more than Joe Burrow. That's why they're gonna be able to do that. Absolutely know more than Joe Burrow. The Cowboys defense isn't, I mean, it should be better, but it's not gonna be great.
SPEAKER_00I don't know, bro. A lot of people are saying that the Cowboys defense is gonna be good.
SPEAKER_02Okay, maybe so. The commanders, their defense isn't gonna be great.
SPEAKER_00I'll give you that one. The Titans.
SPEAKER_02It didn't look like it was gonna be great. It's supposed to be a lot better. But whatever. I'm just saying that like if they play some teams with bad defense that can score points too, like I could I could absolutely see them score.
SPEAKER_00That's just gonna be that game where fucking Devon A changes those 40 kick those 40 touches turned into something crazy.
SPEAKER_02Even if it's not, even if it's 25 and he breaks off two touchdowns, there's 14 points right there. Well, the other 16 are gonna be hard to come by. Maybe. Maybe Chris Bell's sick as fuck. I don't even like think he's gonna be playing early. No. Maybe. He probably, if he's there week one, it's not like he's gonna be that involved. But week one's like next week, bro. It is next week. Wednesday, actually. It's a week from today, I guess. Today this will be coming out on Wednesday. So it's fair. A week from today. A week from today we'll have fun. Look, I don't hate the Dolphins upside on offense.
SPEAKER_00I don't. I just feel like we look at it two times.
SPEAKER_02I think that their defense is going to be the worst defense imaginable, though.
SPEAKER_00Did you see that none of the players that they cut got picked up?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and they were the team that picked up the most players off waivers. They're trying to build an actual roster. One man's trash is another man's treasure. The Texans won't talk contract with CJ Stroud if a deal's not done by week one. Look, if he actually said that he wanted $70 million a year, a deal's not going to be done by week one.
SPEAKER_00Oh, deal's not going to be done at all.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00If CJ Stroud comes in a room and says $70 million, I'm saying, all right.
SPEAKER_02We better win the Super Bowl. That's how you get $70 million a year if you're CJ Stroud. And well, he's got a tough task ahead. You go and you win the Super Bowl, or you take them to the AFC championship game and like you lose in OT and a crazy shootout or something.
SPEAKER_00I would think it has to be more, I feel like it would still, in my opinion, which that's a fair point. I've once again, I I kind of have a bad take when it comes to quarterbacks. I'd rather not I've like before I pay CJ Stroud like $50, $60, $70 million a year, I'd rather just not have a quarterback.
SPEAKER_02I get what you're saying, but that's just not how the NFL works.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, right. Which is why I'm just talking about it.
SPEAKER_02I'm laying out, I'm laying out how he gets his $70 million.
SPEAKER_00I feel like he would have to lead, like lead the team to the Super Bowl, though. Like or AFC, like it comes off the back of him playing that or overcoming something.
SPEAKER_02Like he it's not like he has to throw 350 and three every playoff game. No, he doesn't. But like he just has to not turn the ball over and win games. If he can do those two things and they go to the AFC Championship game or the Super Bowl, CJ Stroud gets the unimaginable.
SPEAKER_00If CJ Stroud gets $70 million a year, the window's closed. I mean, the win the window for me is not open. Like, yes, they're a good team. Like I don't see them missing the playoffs. I don't see them. I personally don't even see them winning a game in the playoffs. Their defense is good. But I don't certainly don't see them winning more than one.
SPEAKER_02Their defense is good enough to win them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but you're gonna be playing other good teams.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I agree. You just gotta hope CJ Stroud doesn't turn the ball over and wins games. That's how he gets paid.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It just doesn't work out for any of the teams that do that.
SPEAKER_02Unless what was my boy for the Ravens?
SPEAKER_00Joe Flacco?
SPEAKER_02Trent Dilfer.
SPEAKER_00He was a backup. He wasn't making $70 million. This is true, but he was a game manager.
SPEAKER_02They had a roster around him. They also had one of the sickest defenses.
SPEAKER_00Of all time.
SPEAKER_02Of all time. Literally of all time. And the Texans, they got some dogs. That's all I'm saying.
SPEAKER_00If it's an all-time great defense, look, we're still out there.
SPEAKER_02CJ Stroud could be their Trent Dilfer.
SPEAKER_00But you don't pay Trent Dill for $70 million. You do not. Because guess what? If you paid Trent Dill for $70 million, you don't have the best defense of all time. It's just not enough money to go around.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, if anybody want to pay $70 million, I'd give it to Will Anderson before I gave it to CJ Stroud. Facts. This is actually kind of big news. The Steelers won't talk extension with Joey Porter Jr. in season. But the reason it's big news is because he came out and said today that he might not play week one without a contract. They're already off to a bad start. Yeah, he is their best corner.
SPEAKER_00I mean, the Steelers, if we're being honest, man, the Steelers should have said, fuck you, Aaron Rodgers. We're going to be shit and actually have a chance to go get a quarterback. Because let's just say Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback this year. Okay, he may not be, they may not be bad enough to be the worst team in the league, but let's just say they're the have the 14th, 15th pick. Unless you're trading draft capital for the next few years to trade up to go get your quarterback, you're going to end up making your longevity worse. Like you're going to end up being bad for longer because you're going to end up stuck in a situation, and I hate to always reference this, but the Titans for years and years and years, where you were never terrible. And it's the same thing the Steelers are experiencing now. When you're to get a quarterback, you either have to go get the quarterback or and have the infrastructure in place, or you have to be terrible to get the quarterback to be able to let him grow and still acquire the talent around him. Right. So if Aaron Rodgers comes out and this is a seven-win football team, the Steelers aren't doing themselves any favor. Because guess what? He's already said it's his last year. You're not in position to get a quarterback. So then guess what? Now you rock bottom.
SPEAKER_02No, man. You got Drew Aller. You like what you saw out of Drew Aller. I am look, if he comes from Penn State, I'm not a fan.
SPEAKER_00But it seems as if here recently you've you've come to like this quarterback class has grown on you. You know, Cade Klubnick. You know, you were in you were here a couple weeks ago ripping Haynes King, he he threatening BY9's job.
SPEAKER_02He he made the roster and only played one preseason game. They saw enough. He made the 53. Cade Klubnick's QB2. Drew Aller is QB three. He's one of four quarterbacks on the roster. Which is ridiculous.
SPEAKER_00Ridiculous. There's another team that's doing it.
SPEAKER_02There's a bunch of teams that have four quarterbacks.
SPEAKER_00Which is crazy. The Browns. Look at all these teams with no quarterback with four.
SPEAKER_02If I'm being honest, if I'm the Browns, why not just start Taylor Green? What's the worst that can happen?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, I don't know if your floor or ceiling changes.
SPEAKER_02Okay, fine. You don't start Taylor Green. Why not start if you don't think Shador's the guy, at least give him enough time to show it. Well, Dylan Gabriel's going to the IR. Yeah, right. Yeah. With a back injury, allegedly. Good for him. He gets a free check. You know, you give Shador the amount of time that it takes for you to see that he's not the guy. And if he is the guy, congratulations. Yeah, you will. Chances are he's not, right? Right, yeah, of course. So you give him what, five, six, seven weeks, eight weeks maybe. You see that he's not the guy. You got a guy. Well, I mean, they might be a good one. You got a guy with some of the most insane metrics in combine history. Yeah. He showed you flashes of it in the preseason when he got his opportunity. He did look better than Anthony Richardson. So it's why not? Like you literally have nothing to lose. Or gain. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Deshaun Watson?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02That's what we're doing.
SPEAKER_00Well, people are saying that you know they they're the first team in NFL history to play 17 road games.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, right. So. And it's all because of one guy. You could literally change it with the snap of the fingers.
SPEAKER_00At least they would have so much more hope if they just cut Deshaun. Like if they just didn't get the water.
SPEAKER_02When you start Shador Taylor Green, everybody's gonna be way more positive.
SPEAKER_00Because all they're gonna have to do is have a good moment and everybody's gonna be like, oh my god, he could be the guy. Like these people don't even want to see Deshaun Watson do well.
SPEAKER_02God damn those poor fucking people.
SPEAKER_00The Browns could go 17-0 led by fucking Deshaun Watson, and they'd still be like, fuck, dude, we don't have a we got Deshaun Watson at quarterback. And rightfully so.
SPEAKER_01Dude, those poor people.
SPEAKER_00Obviously, they're not going 17 and oh.
SPEAKER_01They deserve better. They deserve better.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I guess, you know, blue collar town. It's just it's already a shit city. Yeah. Like it's already not great. Like the great Joaquin Noah said. Who the fuck wants to go on vacation to Cleveland? Nobody. Nobody. Nobody even wants to go to Cleveland. Hey, bro, their stadium's gonna be sick as fuck. It is. Somebody said it looks like a jail.
SPEAKER_01It should be. It's fitting.
SPEAKER_00That will be the new MetLife Stadium because there's two jails there.
SPEAKER_02You have we have Odell makes the roster in New York. You think he makes any kind of impact? Part of me hopes so, but probably not.
SPEAKER_00I mean, he's like 30, what, 34 now? He he looked alright in the videos I seen. Yeah. He's got some talent. I think that says more about the wide receiver room in New York than Odell, who hadn't played football in what two years. Yeah. Well, it was just a year.
SPEAKER_02I actually think Darnell Mooney's a pretty good player. Calvin Austin's done for the season, so that hurts. Yeah. When they got Malachi Fields.
SPEAKER_00I will say if he if he comes in and it's like the ego's gone and all that stuff, and he's just more like if it's more like a thing where it's like, hey, you know, look, I just want to finish my career where it started. Like, I got love for New York. Like he comes in, he's like mentoring these young guys. Like, it could be good for that.
SPEAKER_02I hope he's not teaching them Cleveland steamers. My boy is getting shit on his chest.
SPEAKER_03I forgot about that.
SPEAKER_02I uh I don't hate Odell though. I uh good for him. I'm glad he made the team.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, it's dope that he made a roster still.
SPEAKER_02I don't like it's it's so different, right? Because like we're like, I'm thinking that Aaron Donald's gonna have his crazy impact in LA. And it's just like the offensive side of the ball just doesn't work like that, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, it's a lot of things.
SPEAKER_02It just seems like these guys lose the tread on the tires a lot faster. Yeah, absolutely. I mean they're also getting hit, not giving the hit. I think that that definitely has something to do with it.
SPEAKER_00It also is just kind of more so showing like the freak of nature that Aaron Donald is. Yeah. And the I mean, here's the thing. When he retired, he was the best player in football still. He was only like I swear to God, he was only like 32, 31, I think he was no, 34. No, because he was gonna retire after they won that Super Bowl. He is 35 years old. Right.
SPEAKER_02So he'll be he retired in 24, so he was what 32?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, 33. It would have been the year before he he he hasn't played football the past two seasons. Right. So that would have put him at a 33. But he was still like a great player.
SPEAKER_02Shout out to Odell, man. I'm glad it gets to end it where it started. He had some electric plays in New York. He had like that one catch. And he doesn't have a quarterback like Elon Manning to do that anymore. I don't think he could do that anymore, to be honest with you, but yeah, obviously.
SPEAKER_00I mean, look, I will say this about Odell. Like before he got hurt in that Super Bowl, he probably would have been the MVP. He was fucking killing C. He was going crazy. And then he tore his ACL. He was going crazy. He was fucking killing. Yeah, I don't like I said, I don't I don't think Odell makes much of an impact for me. It's a cool story. Makes you feel good. What is he, wide receiver four? Like, how much do you think he actually plays?
SPEAKER_02Like Yeah, definitely Malachi Fields is ahead of him. They've already said that.
SPEAKER_00A lot of people say they like him.
SPEAKER_02Who Malachi Fields? Yeah. Well, they draft him like second or third round. Fitz. He loves Malachi Fields. He has Jackson Dart too, so I get it.
SPEAKER_00Well, he was typing him up in your in the redraft.
SPEAKER_02Oh. That's crazy. I mean, yeah, like if Malik Neighbors doesn't, like if he's not a hundred percent, which he won't be, but speaking of Malik Neighbors, he was asked today if like the season started tomorrow, you lace in up and play, and he was like, it's a little bit tricky.
SPEAKER_00Talking about how like he doesn't feel this like ready. He's like, I know I make everything look good, like y'all see this, and he's like, I I was kind of moving crazy, but like when you're in your body, like these cuts don't feel right, this doesn't feel right, so I don't know. We'll have to see.
SPEAKER_02Part of that I think is just him scared. I mean, it was a major yeah, it was a mental thing. Let's just hope he doesn't have like the hips.
SPEAKER_00Well well, here's the thing with that is is that's gonna be something that is in that stadium, like after having that injury, like that's gonna have to be something you gotta have a concern for every year. What a joke, dude. That place is a joke. For all these teams, bro. All these teams that are going straight turf, which I mean, theirs is obviously terrible. It's worse than, you know, there are other teams with turf that don't have as many of these issues, but you would almost just think that like when the entire league hates your stadium, you should almost just want to make the change. Right. Like your own players hate playing on their field.
SPEAKER_02I mean, but I don't like like Seattle has turf. Like there's a bunch of those teams that have turned.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but I think it's got something to do with like the specific turf that they are using in MetLife. Like how it's made up. Because a lot of these turfs. I know I've heard them.
SPEAKER_02I know I've heard players say that it feels like concrete and shit like that. You don't hear that when they were talking about when the Titans switched to turf. Yeah, but the Titans, they have the like super special synthetic. Like, what is it?
SPEAKER_00Every one of these teams can do that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's just a Bro they changed it to fucking grass for the World Cup.
SPEAKER_02That's just left it. It's owners just being cheap.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Is a lot of that. But why would you you're in fucking New York?
SPEAKER_00The money's plentiful.
SPEAKER_02You know, like the other side of the argument is like the reason MetLife has turf is because they host way more than football games. So like if they had grass and they hold a concert, the grass would die and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Nah, they can move it out. Check this out. Hear me out here. Maybe you don't host so many fucking concerts. The stadium was built for a football team. That is true. Well, all of these stadiums these days are multi-purpose. Yes, I get that. But I'm saying that like the main event.
SPEAKER_00They hosted the fucking Super Bowl when it was cold as fuck when they first built it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I'm saying the main event is football.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02The main event for that stadium was a very good thing.
SPEAKER_00And there wasn't a football team there.
SPEAKER_02There's a good chance the stadium was never built. Exactly. Facts. That is true. So why would you not want to sit over here and make it the best? Like if you had to do it.
SPEAKER_00Or even this, why would you want to risk like your team, you're risking your team's health year in and year out?
SPEAKER_02That's I mean, that's that's another side of it too. Like, especially if I'm like the coach in the gym, I'm like, yo, bro, like you're doing us no favors.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And we're you want me laying my life, my body out on the line, literally, multiple different ways. Like, it's already bad enough. I gotta worry about getting fucking smacked or you know, somebody taking my knee out or something like that. Now I gotta worry about y'all taking my knee out just from me jumping. Like, yeah, it's nuts.
SPEAKER_02It's true. I'm not gonna talk a lot about this. I'm just gonna say it. And then we'll be done with it. Will Levis was cut. He asked for the release. Buddy, I don't think he had to ask for the release. And to our final topic of the day. The look, the 49ers have had a rough offseason.
SPEAKER_00The substation strikes again. This time it's doing frauds.
SPEAKER_02And it goes from Kyle Shanahan to you know being in a car wreck to Jeb York. Is it Jed?
SPEAKER_00Jed York.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Jed. My fault, Jed. I cannot stop calling you Jeb for some reason.
SPEAKER_00I mean, it seems like something a Jeb would do.
SPEAKER_02Jed York gets arrested for hiring a hooker. Like Mike Evans can't stay healthy. Nobody can stay healthy. The only positive thing that's come out of this team all offseason is the strip club.
SPEAKER_00He's mad. He has been a dog.
SPEAKER_02He, you know, like Christian's tight. Yeah, the tightness. I think it's more the tightness in his wallet than the tightness in his hamstrings or his groins. He's like, I had 400 plus opportunities last year. I need a bag before I die this season.
SPEAKER_00That's right. Well, he was just doing math with his accountant, and he was like, all right, this is how many, this is how many like touches per X amount of dollars that so and so's getting. We need this rate.
SPEAKER_02But this cat, this cat, his name is Dejaan Love.
SPEAKER_00NFL player.
SPEAKER_02So when I first put this in our little docket thing that we do every week, I uh the what I put in there was guy scams people pretending to be a 49ers player.
SPEAKER_00This was before we didn't exactly know the magnitude of the scam. I thought it was just a meme on the internet for a moment.
SPEAKER_02This guy, his digital footprint was insane. I don't know if I've seen the same video twice.
SPEAKER_00Like, it shit's everywhere.
SPEAKER_02It's yeah, it's literally everywhere. He was legitimately scamming women out of money, pretending to be a 49ers football player.
SPEAKER_00But my man's just going to the beach with his helmet working out. Dude. He's doing like promotional bit videos for small businesses.
SPEAKER_02And this is this is this is gonna sound bad, but I don't know how you could have watched these videos. Any one of these workout videos and said anything but this guy looks like a fing moron. Like this dude looks like an idiot.
SPEAKER_00That shit's funny as fuck, dog. I think the worst thing about this is he got twenty-six women. Twenty-six. Why can't I find a woman that dumb? Man. Which look for 1.3 million dollars. They said that he was like portraying himself also with like an like investments and stuff like that. Like he was taking this money and was pasting any of that. He is like a real estate agent from Switzerland or some shit like that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02He also, I think he pretended to be an overseas basketball player.
SPEAKER_00Damn, he's doing a lot of shit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. This guy, this guy, I hate it, man. Because it's just more dirt on the 49ers name. It's just another bad attachment for the logo. You know what I mean? And at first, like it was all a joke, right? Like you had like the wide receivers coach for the 49ers made an AI photo with him being like, I hate that he got cut, or whatever he said. And then like this motherfucker was messaging 17-year-olds.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that that's gross.
SPEAKER_02This dude, he was what, 33 at the time, I think. His financial advisor that he was setting these women up with 18. Was 14 when they started.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02It went on for four years.
SPEAKER_00Bro. How like here my man's was using like AI Google searches to like show himself, like as these people. Like, what was like, how did these women not just run the search themselves? Or you say, hey, or even then he's like, Hey, I Googled you, nothing popped up. Nothing about football, nothing about investments, and his response.
SPEAKER_02So is his response just like all the people that didn't get got are the ones that are releasing all these different screenshots and shit now? There's a ton of different businesses that I've seen on like Instagram that you know it's him DMing them, being like, hey, I'm Dejan Love, and I you know, I played wide receiver for the 49. Like, he's just it's all bullshit. Like you read it and you're just like, what NFL player would ever fucking say this? Yeah. And whatever undrafted free agent has ever went and bought a Lamborghini or a McLaren. Shiloh Sanders? Yeah, yeah, but he wasn't your average.
SPEAKER_00It's just a joke.
SPEAKER_02He wasn't your average undrafted free agent. His dad, his yeah, like his dad was the greatest corner to ever play the game.
SPEAKER_00He's bankrupt.
SPEAKER_02He is. That doesn't mean he doesn't have money, it just means he doesn't have debt anymore.
SPEAKER_00But they're gonna be like, what's your salary? I don't have a salary. That's why I'm filing bankruptcy. I thought I was going to the NFL.
SPEAKER_02Man, he could go be a coach somewhere and go be a coach on Colorado's coaching staff. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I wouldn't want to.
SPEAKER_02He always has Shiloh always has an opportunity to make some money. My boy Dejon loves gonna say that.
SPEAKER_00But they're doing like a YouTube series or some shit like that for finding Shador Sanders, a barber in Cleveland. You ain't seen none of that. No. Tuned out.
SPEAKER_02Tuned out to that, brother. I promise you. I won't be tuning in.
SPEAKER_00That was real. Like, if you know, like they were entertaining, I might I don't see interviewing people for a haircut as entertainment, but I mean, you know, some people would sit over here and say, Well, we don't think your podcast is entertaining. And I'd be like, that's fair, brother. I'm not an expert.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's also fair. I'm not either. And so much not an expert that Dejan Love will have plenty of time to run routes in prison. He'll be able to get swollen.
SPEAKER_00Hey man, you think that he would like so people like this clearly gotta have something like psychological about like the attention and the notoriety from this and everything. I mean, he's clearly mentally ill. We will write him a letter in prison to see if we can hook up a little phone interview.
SPEAKER_02Get him on the pod.
SPEAKER_00Get him on the pod. Like, hey, look, we're a massive mul sports media company.
SPEAKER_02We I mean we're bigger than Barstool at this point.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, just I can show you our way to like just use his scams that he used against women on him, and then he gets in here and we're just like, so why did you lie to these people?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the only hard-hidden questions. I would grill him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. What what made you choose this?
SPEAKER_02Like, look, I only I know that we only get 15 minutes here.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna say, let's look at this film. I know you can't see it, but you remember this video. When you were running these routes in the sand, did you think you were running fast?
SPEAKER_02Did you think those cuts were sharp? You know what the funniest thing about that is is Stefan Diggs later released a video and he was actually going crazy in the sand. And you're like, oh wow, there is a huge difference.
SPEAKER_00That's an NFL player.
SPEAKER_02And that's a 33-year-old at the tail end of his career NFL player.
SPEAKER_00Look, I saw that video, and one, I thought it was hilarious to like show the difference, but part of me said Stefan Diggs in Washington might be nice, bro. Yeah, no, it could work out. Like for sure. Hey, he like that, and that's part of the reason why I wanted Jaden Daniels on your fantasy team.
SPEAKER_02There isn't a there's not a ton of options in in Washington. Terry McLaurin.
SPEAKER_00There you go. Nah, bro, they got uh Bill. Chig Aconquo. Bill. Yeah. Yeah. Uh who else they have?
SPEAKER_02I mean, I'm not burning down the city for these guys. Rashad White? Yeah, he's trash. My boy pulled his hamstring on a on doing the ice bucket challenge.
SPEAKER_00I don't think that's actually they said that's not how he did it, but we video says that he did the ice bucket challenge. We saw him slip, and then he didn't practice after that. Just saying, he practiced the day that the video was made beforehand.
SPEAKER_02I'm no conspiracy theorist.
SPEAKER_00I'm also not an expert. Not in not in the medical field, anyways.
SPEAKER_02We I mean, I hope that that guy gets a long time in prison. I hate that those I don't know, bro.
SPEAKER_00I mean, uh yeah, he's gonna get a lot of time in prison, yada yada yada, but like, bro, like pulling that shit off, you you kind of gotta respect it a little bit.
SPEAKER_02It's just so dumb. Oh, it's so dumb.
SPEAKER_00It's so dumb for him or for the other people? I feel like it's only dumb for the people.
SPEAKER_02You know, like my wife, your fiance, like if this had happened to them.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, and shit would have never happened.
SPEAKER_02It would have never happened. I mean, they would have sniffed that shit out and immediately.
SPEAKER_00Immediately. She would have done a Google search and be like, yeah, get the fuck out of my inbox. Yeah, like it just the funniest part about it was when he was explaining himself that there were three levels to clearing waivers. It was like physical, mental, and emotional. Why'd you even throw the emotional part in there and then be like, yeah, so what happened was I broke my pinky. Idiot. And nobody picked me up.
SPEAKER_02So I clearly had no idea how it worked.
SPEAKER_00I cleared waivers and we had to go back to the 49ers.
SPEAKER_02I uh as a wild man, dog. It was like almost unbelievable the more I read into it. I just I could not believe you would expect I was I would have expected these women to be like 90. Like anytime somebody tells you, and this goes for anybody that ever listens to this podcast, and I would think most people would know this. Anytime somebody tells you that they can 10x your shit, 5x your shit in three or four days, and they're gonna send it right back to you. It's probably a lie. Yeah, there's a there's a matter of fact, it is a lie.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's a lot of people.
SPEAKER_02But also it's a greater than none chance you're not getting your money back.
SPEAKER_00If you are one of the women that scammed him, let me tell, or that he scammed, let me tell you about something that you can 5x your money about. It's called parallax. We're gambling. Like, it's all you gotta do. It's just they might as well gamble.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they were gambling then. Look, what was that? Is that I mean, that would cons that would be considered a gamble. You're gambling on some guy you've never met. Never met somebody that's gonna be. You had women, he had women over here saying that they were gonna have his children. There was a woman that posted and said like something like, This is why I held out dating you little bay boys, and now I'm dating an NFL player, like God damn it.
SPEAKER_00She held out on the bay boys to date DeJon Love.
SPEAKER_02A bay boy, a scammer, a bay boy in disguise.
SPEAKER_00You know that song where it's like spin ass shit, spin ass shit, like talking, where am I scamming at? That's all yeah. So somebody said, somebody said on the internet, they said, Y'all bitches love talking about this shit until a man does it to you, now it's a problem. Y'all be saving a song about scamming at the top of your lungs, and then you get scammed, and now it's a problem. Like that's what you want to do.
SPEAKER_02Like, I feel bad for those women, but then at the same time, I'm like, do your due diligence. Yeah, you I mean, you're talking to some random stranger that has all these different things that he's claiming. Like, these are all things that could be substantiated. Man, like you could look all these things up.
SPEAKER_00Josh Allen could message me from his verified account on Instagram, send me a video of him talking directly to me, and I still wouldn't believe it. I'd be like, all right, fly me to the game, put me, show me tickets, front row. I need the VIP.
SPEAKER_02We got a FaceTime.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, call me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Like, here's my number, FaceTime.
SPEAKER_00Then my phone rings, it's a South African number on WhatsApp. He'd like Josh Allen.
SPEAKER_02It's a Somalian scam.
SPEAKER_00He had Josh Allen's Instagram feed to talk to us.
SPEAKER_02I yeah, I mean, if if you have if any of you want to know more about it, you can find this shit literally. It's everywhere.
SPEAKER_00There's not anybody that's actually listening to this pod that doesn't know about this shit and off and doesn't think that that's probably the funniest shit of all time. Like, yeah.
SPEAKER_02He was like, like he claimed that he needed like 20 grand from a woman for surgery. Like you're on the team.
SPEAKER_00Why didn't your NFL team cover that?
SPEAKER_02Dude, it like that's what I mean.
SPEAKER_00How do you fall for that?
SPEAKER_02Like it's sad, but then you hear some of the bullshit he was saying, and you see the videos, and you're like, God, who would believe this? Somebody that's never watched the NFL. Yeah, that is a hundred percent what it was, too. But like, damn, where'd they get all this money? I don't got fucking a thousand, I don't even got a hundred dollars to go invest in, Danny Day. They're just over here sitting this man.
SPEAKER_00All of our money gets invested in the we're not experts.
SPEAKER_02Like, I don't how'd they have all this money? What do they do for work? How did he find all these women with all this money that don't have a man in their life?
SPEAKER_00Man, they were how are you positioned well enough to have money, but not positioned well enough to like do a real Google search? Man, dude. Let me just say I could never get that lucky, bro. I could never get that lucky in any kind of way. Like, it's just not me.
SPEAKER_02Part of it is is like, I think this goes for both of us. Is like I would consider ourselves ethical.
SPEAKER_00That's right. Yeah. Like I would never put myself in a position to scam anybody. Yeah, right. But you would almost think that because we're ethical people and we wouldn't do these things to people, maybe, just maybe, we could just come across the million dollars or 50.
SPEAKER_02And this is and this is the best way to end this. Because I would I would disagree with that. And to that, I have a great quote to end this pod.
SPEAKER_00Alright, let me hear it.
SPEAKER_02A full praise for an easier road. A wise man prays for stronger legs. Amen. That is a banger. Hey man. We don't want it to be easier. We don't want it to be easier.
SPEAKER_00We just we pray for us to be better.

SPEAKER_02Seahawks, Patriots. I cannot wait to one, give my prediction for the game.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I can't wait to talk some betting.
SPEAKER_00Things to get excited about. Yeah, man. I can't wait to cook up a mean week one parlay at any time touchdown.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's gonna be fantastic. I'm gonna have about six of them bad boys in the past.
SPEAKER_00The best time of the year is back. Look, I don't know about y'all. I'm smiling more. It's not as hot. It's starting to cool down. Things are starting to, you know, be the way that we should. Vibes are always higher in football season. Hope is at an all-time high. Especially for the Jets. College football's back as well. Yep. We've already had some fuckery go on. As college football, you can expect. You know, Hawaii blowing a lead and some like somehow losing by double digits in like a minute.
SPEAKER_02Andrew Lugg, man, got them boys back. Got rid of Frank Wright. Man.
SPEAKER_00Made them better.
