We're Not Experts
We’re Not Experts is a podcast hosted by two guys who’ve somehow survived 15+ years of friendship and now think that qualifies them to talk into microphones. We’re average early 30’s dudes with very strong opinions and very average credentials—which is exactly the point.
We’re sports ethicists in the loosest sense of the term, breaking down the morals, madness, and mayhem of a wide variety of sports… but let’s be honest: football will absolutely hijack the conversation. We can talk about other sports. We just won’t stop talking about football.
Expect passionate debates, hot takes that cool off immediately, arguments that go nowhere, and the occasional moment of clarity that surprises everyone—including them. Stats may appear. Logic might leave the room. Confidence will always be high.
We’re not analysts. We’re not insiders. We’re definitely not experts.
We’re just two longtime friends talking sports the way most people do—too confidently, for too long, and with absolutely no credentials to back it up.
We’re Not Experts — and neither are you, so you’ll fit right in.

Browns, Boutte & Bad Decisions
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
The Browns are a disgrace, Jed York is a dirtbag, Deshaun Watson talks it back, Boutte gets traded, Rashod Bateman gets arrested, Ashton Jeanty gets a miracle. Plus, the Rivalries jerseys are here and WNE is officially TWICE A WEEK.
We're not experts. Episode 36. 36. Back in the cave. 36. This is not a real cave. Not a real cave. This is the start of something special. Week one, two days a week. Two days a week from this moment forward. Until probably after the Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_00Well, I'm sure we might still be like, hey, y'all don't understand. I don't know if you do or not, but finding shit to talk about in the offseason is It just doesn't come enough to be able to do it. And it can be brutalized.
unknownPause.
SPEAKER_00It can be finding shit to talk about that's like actually worth talking about.
SPEAKER_01You get the Super Bowl and then you get to talk about like the early offseason stories, and you got like the free agency, and then it's like after like the first week of free agency, it's cooked.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. There's a there's a like a month and a half story. There's a yeah, like there's a month and a half dead. We gotta cover the pro day.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But you know what? We s we enjoy that too. We get to talk a lot of shit during the offseason. So now it's about time to strap in and you know put our lab coats back on and get real analytical with our opinions. Technical. Yeah. We're not experts.
SPEAKER_00You know, you know who made a technical decision? Who made a technical decision? I don't even know if it'd be technical. It's a horrible. Objectively. I think I don't know if there's a person in the United States that's looked at me and been like what a good what a good what a good job making Deshaun Watson, the starting quarterback of the Browns. Which is insane. I mean he's looked terrible. He's been awful. I you know what, matter of fact, is it the 59% completion percentage in the preseason or the six yards per pass attempt? Is that what really I know that can't be it? Is it his overwhelmingly great personality that he has? Where he's just the stand-up guy? Nah, it's not that. It can't be that because he told me the other day that he regrets nothing he's ever done in his past.
SPEAKER_01Look. We still don't know he did it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. We don't.
SPEAKER_01I just feel like if he did that, he shouldn't be in the NFL to begin with. You know, I mean he shouldn't be in a free he shouldn't be a free man if he did this.
SPEAKER_00This is a guy that four years ago, after all the allegations, I guess you could say, which seemed to be overwhelmingly true, I believe. I think most people don't know. We need to we need to understand that this is a $200 million man. He's the reason that fully guaranteed contracts shouldn't be a thing. He's the reason. Because if there's ever the worst contract in NFL history, it's that one, it needs to be discussed.
SPEAKER_01And you know, the crazy thing about that is that happened after the allegations like originally came out. Yeah. So had he gotten that contract before that shit came out, you could make an argument that that was a was a yeah, he does you maybe not fully guaranteed a little bit out there, especially in football, understandably so, but you could have said, okay, yeah, he deserved it. Like hey, the the fall off of Deshaun Watson is incredible.
SPEAKER_00Literally the day before he got named the starter. He got booed in the preseason. Rightfully so. He was terrible. He has been terrible. Yeah. Like he has not looked good. He goes into the press conference, he says, It's nothing to do about performance, that's correct. It's a little bit more personal than that.
SPEAKER_01Which is they're fair to boo him for that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. If I can't boo you for being a bad quarterback, I should be able to boo you for being a horrible person.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Facts. We can continue. You can continue.
SPEAKER_00Last time I played on this field, I tore my Achilles and the same fan base cheered when I got hurt. Damn. Now look. Is it okay to cheer when somebody gets hurt? No. It's not. Like it's crossing the line. Like you shouldn't do that. But if there was a person that deserved it. It's probably Deshaun Watson. Seems like karma. Right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean it seems like it's I'm not saying that it was a good thing. I'm not saying that.
SPEAKER_01Not the part of him getting hurt, but them cheering him getting hurt because if he did the things that they are saying that he did.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, I mean, and it's not like he's literally done nothing but talk shit about the Browns fans. Yeah. And then just absolutely never delivered. And took home the largest sum of money guaranteed ever. Bro, and they still owe him a fucking check.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01They still owe him. So even after this year, if he's not on the roster, they still owe him a have another $86 million in dead cap over the next two seasons if they cut him.
SPEAKER_00I say all this to say Todd Monken, who I've said to you, I don't think I've I don't know if I've said it on here. You like Todd Monken. I like Todd Monkin.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Not anymore. I don't know. Dude, I have no idea. He's set up for failure.
SPEAKER_01Now I will say this part of the, I mean, yes, Deshaun Watson has been terrible, but at the same time, we can't sit here and act like the Browns organization exactly surrounded him with just an elite talent around him on the offensive side of the ball. I don't care. I mean, granted, they granted they did put up a just a great defense for no reason, and then surrounded, proceeded to surround him with some dog shit. But I mean, he didn't do anything to help that either. What's even crazier is he said all of that shit. He talked all that shit about the Browns fans. They named him the starter the next day, right?
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01This is what Deshaun Watson says after. Oh, yeah, I remember this. This is what he says after he gets signed. He says, put in a lot of time in these last two years to get back and spend time in this facility and the seat in the city, meeting a lot of different people in the community. I thought I was going to get a little different response. But I think my emotions got the best of me. My comments wasn't intended to go at any of the fans around the city because there's been a lot of great fans that have been supporting me. I know the frustration. This organization has put a lot of investment in coming to get me back in 2022. Things haven't been going the right direction that we thought it was. A lot of injuries, a lot of time off, and not putting the best football and my foot forward. Again, I understand the frustration. I understand everything that goes into that. Moving forward, I just want to focus on football and making sure that I'm putting the best product out there and having the best ability. What a backtrack. You had all that shit to say, and then they like, we're still going to be able to do that. It's just not true, though.
SPEAKER_00Like it's not true.
SPEAKER_01He doesn't feel that way. Bro, like look, if if these guys are picking Deshaun Watson over Shador Sanders, what does that say about Shador? I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I do to be looked bad enough for me to say, like look, it's not, I don't think that either one of us think that Shador is great. I don't or even mediocre.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, facts.
SPEAKER_00I think he's better than Deshaun Watson.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I think that he should probably be, I think he gives them the best chance to win football games.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Which is the game we play.
SPEAKER_01Well, I just feel like at the same time, like for Cleveland, like, still, like having Deshaun Watson be an option at this point is crazy to me. At this point, he's better off. You're almost better, I feel like, just cutting him. Like taking them, but like, yes, you're gonna lose the money. You're gonna lose the money, but like think about it. He's gotta be terrible in that locker room. Horrible. Like, there's no way that the people in the locker room love him. Like, the coaching staff clearly doesn't love him.
SPEAKER_00Jameis loved it.
SPEAKER_01The city doesn't love him. Jameis is a weird character. Jameis died on a hill from my bullet. But I just feel I just feel like with all of the shit that comes with Deshaun Watson, like It's just not worth it. Yeah. He's not good enough to like. I could understand it if he was fucking Tom Brady or Pat Mahomes or you know, fuck even Justin Herbert or Dak Prescott, but it's he's not. I'd rather just you know what he is at this point. He's horrible, he's gotta be a horrible teammate. He's gotta like the city hates him, your fan base hates him. Like, why even create this shit show and continue to be a part of it when you could just bite the bullet, you fucked up. Let's move forward. See what we have in Shador, and guess what? Worst case scenario, he's take he's terrible. You've got two first-round picks next year, one of them's bound to be a high pick because your team sucks. Fuck it, we'll just lose the dead cap going into next year, and we'll just start this thing over the right way. And you can effectively end his career.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I it's funny that you brought this up because the Browns owner in March of 2025, and I quote, we took a big swing and a miss with Deshaun. We thought we had a quarterback, we didn't. Todd Monk in August of 2026. Deshaun's our quarterback. What a slap in the face, dude. I like we say all this, like starting it over and doing it right, and yeah, like that makes sense. You know what the crazy thing is, is I actually don't think like Andrew Berry's not a bad team.
SPEAKER_01I mean, every other, and it just goes to show what this type of deal going south can do to your franchise. You look at everything else that the Cleveland Browns have done, you would be like, damn, this team should be good. You telling me you're trotting out a top three to five defense year in and year out. Right. You make an attempt, like you make good draft choices.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Like their defense should be it should still be good.
SPEAKER_01I mean, Jared Verse is like the yes, you lose Miles Garrett, but like DS. I mean, if if you if you I'd rather have traded for Jared Verse than let me just get a bunch of picks and hope one of those guys turns out to be.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was a good deal. It was a great deal. And look, and Jared Vers is my defensive player of the year pick last year, so look. Andrew Barry might not be as good as we thought he was. It's just Well, I feel like this is like the owner did this. Yeah. I mean, you know what the saddest part about all that is? He owns the preds.
SPEAKER_01He might do some horrible shit to them too. I mean it's not been great. Yeah. I just, man, I don't know. If it wasn't for the fact that, you know, what Watson was uh has some real heinous allegations for him, you'd almost feel bad for Deshaun Watson.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you don't.
SPEAKER_01If your owner says all that shit about you, like imagine how he has to feel. Like the fact that he even wants to, I guess for him, it's probably like, well, it's them or nobody. So I'd rather play for them. Yeah. But like, why would he even want to have the desire to go out here and play football? Especially at this point, bro. $230 million. Like you're out here on a private jet that you own. It's your private jet.
SPEAKER_00The Falcons should go trade for Shador. Better than Tua.
SPEAKER_01I don't know about that.
SPEAKER_00Tua's been horrible. He's looked horrible in camp. And now Michael Penix is healthy. Jesus Christ, it's all gonna go south.
SPEAKER_01Man, what if Michael look, Michael Penix Jr. might take a step? Backwards? With Stefanski, bro.
SPEAKER_00Look, I Michael Penix has no ACLs. That's fine. They're gone. It's fine. He's like a hundred. His arm still works. He never had a shoulder injury. He's left-handed. That's dirty as well. They've got the most awkward quarterback room in the league. Not a real quarterback.
SPEAKER_01They have B. John Robinson.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And Drake London. They got two stuff. And Kyle Pitts. Poor guy. He's back. I don't have anything. I don't have yeah, maybe. I don't have anything else to say about Deshaun Watson besides you're a dirtbag. You deserved to be booed. Oh my God. I mean, you're fucking dirting balls in the preseason, bro. Like, you're not a good quarterback. You didn't earn this. Yeah. Like, I'm not saying Shador was miles and a ways better than Deshaun Watson, but he was objectively better.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I don't see how he loses that. Todd Monkin, you're a fucking bum. You're a bum too, dude. Yeah. They should uh stand up for humanity. Like, I you know, I hope Travis Hunter.
SPEAKER_01Well, maybe they're riding with Deshaun Watson because it gives them the best chance to be the worst team in the league.
SPEAKER_00I hope Deshaun, I hope Deshaun Watson throws a pick to Travis Hunter and Travis Hunter takes the ball to Todd Mock. Why would he do that? And be like, you should start Shador.
SPEAKER_01That's because two didn't throw it. That's because two didn't. Two would have made that pass. Nah, I don't ain't going for that.
SPEAKER_00I like I do like that his I like I like his confidence. Yeah, I'm here to get it.
SPEAKER_01And shout out to the last thing about the Browns thing. Shout out to Shador Sanders for being like the ultimate professional about it all. Legitimately he has. For the cockiness and shit everybody's giving him, like, he's really been out here like handling this shit extremely well.
SPEAKER_00That's not something I would expect you to say, but it's 100% true.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's 100% true. He's like handled it like a true profession.
SPEAKER_01I mean, he came out and he started and it was all that, this is what I do, all that cocky shit, got humbled real quick, yada yada yada. You know, he still probably has some ego, but as far as like the fact that, you know, coming in saying, look, we're not looking at it like, you know, this isn't a beef or anything. Like, we're just trying to be the best we can be. Like, so shout out to him for that. It shows that it shows that you know, acting this way and presenting yourself this way shows that a lot of you know you can correct, you can correct, you're correcting all of the things that everybody was like saying about you coming into the league. So maybe shout out to you. Yeah, now you just gotta play better football.
SPEAKER_00And unfortunately, you got jowed by a shit coach and a shit quarterback. Yeah, it's crazy. It's nuts.
SPEAKER_01That is nuts. Moving on.
SPEAKER_00The dirtbaggery doesn't stop with Deshaun Watson. Why would it? We're in the NFL. It actually extends to owners, which we've known. We've known this from the past. You know, Robert Kraft, dirtbag.
SPEAKER_01Turns out a little more respectable.
SPEAKER_00Jeb York, the owner of the San Francisco 49ers, is worth around a cool $8.6 billion. He tried to pay for some action. Got caught. In East Palestine, Ohio. I don't know if you're familiar with East Palestine, Ohio. I've not.
SPEAKER_01I've never heard of it before today.
SPEAKER_00So I don't know. So a couple years ago, they had like this like crazy like chemical spill, I believe it was. Oh fuck. It was something of that nature. I can't remember exactly what it was. But yeah, that place has been through a lot. Turns out been through Jeb York as well. $140. This is a billionaire. He could have went, I don't know. It was a trained derailment. Yeah, trained derailment.
SPEAKER_012023. Yeah, my bad.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And there was like a bunch of chemicals on it. Yeah. And they spilled.
SPEAKER_01I didn't mean to get you distracted.
SPEAKER_00I just that's where Jeb York goes to get his prostitutes.
SPEAKER_01Hey, yo, bro. Imagine being worth eight billion dollars. And you wanna, and you first off, the biggest question that I have is what is this what is he doing in East Boston, Ohio that is?
SPEAKER_00Is he possibly from Ohio? I have I have I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Let's see. I don't these I mean I that one could only think, but I doubt it.
SPEAKER_00With a name like Jeb. It's Jed with a D. Jed. My bad, Jed. You're probably not gonna hear this, Jed, but you're a d you're dirty, dude.
SPEAKER_01Well, he is from Youngstown, Ohio.
SPEAKER_00He is? He's from Oh, dude, Youngstown's gutter as hell, too. It makes sense.
SPEAKER_01But but the craziest thing about me, bro, is they found my man in a setup in a sting operation. You pull up 140 bucks in cash.
SPEAKER_00$140 Ohio strange.
SPEAKER_01Bro, you could have went anywhere. What are we doing? You could have gone anywhere, bro. You could have gone and found you some high class.
SPEAKER_00That man never forgot the streets that he left that he roamed as a child.
SPEAKER_01Did you see that the trailer park came out and said that he may have just been pulled over there and that their trailer park wasn't used for a sting operation and prostitution? They were like, hold on. We have actual prostitutes here. Let's just keep keep the feds away.
SPEAKER_00The funniest thing I saw on Twitter about this whole thing was they had the trailer park and then they put a substation behind it. It was the substation.
SPEAKER_01Hey, yo, that's so funny, dog.
SPEAKER_00People were saying that Jeb York was really just trying to find somebody that could really crack the substation theory.
SPEAKER_01They've added they've added my man got sentenced to one day in jail in order to pay $150 in a prostitution sting. What would it have been had that been me spending this $140 in this prostitution sting?
SPEAKER_00I don't know how illegal like prostitution is.
SPEAKER_01It's gotta be a lot more serious than disorderly conduct and a $1,000 fine for possessing criminal tools, which is the phone that he used to communicate with the prostitute. So you do you think that they would do that to me?
SPEAKER_00I mean, it might be a little stiffer. Well, yeah, well, they'd actually probably I don't think that I don't think that you're gonna do like serious time.
SPEAKER_01Well, bro, no, I'd have to get off, bro, for sure. I'd have to get off with this same thing because I'm a member of the sports media. Like I have credentials now.
SPEAKER_00So I don't know, man. They're doing Tony Romo pretty tough.
SPEAKER_01Well, that is true. Does it have something to do with the did I pass? Turn around? Nah. Guess not.
SPEAKER_00Hey, Tony Romo is more than the the offer's extended.
SPEAKER_01Well, he just lost his job. I mean, he you can't fire Jed York. He's just losing his job.
SPEAKER_00So they're gonna make the San Francisco change their initials to STD.
SPEAKER_01I just but this is not the storyline that I was expecting to pop up. Like, if you would have said, you know, for the headline's just San Francisco 49ers owner arrested, I feel like the last thing that I would see is for like a in a trailer park for prostitution. Dude. $140. It's crazy. And they kept the 100, he had a donated.
SPEAKER_00Jed, Jed, you're cheaping out. You got the money to go get you. Oh, you're a billionaire. You can go get you a classy escort. Man, she would have came to you, bro.
SPEAKER_01You didn't have to go to a Trailer, imagine had he looked just for step back for a second. Let's just say he doesn't get arrested, and this isn't a setup, and he's just walking into a prostitute. Could you imagine the disgust he would have to feel as a billionaire walking into a trailer park?
SPEAKER_00Buddy, could you imagine what this woman looks like? It doesn't, she's gotta be decent.
SPEAKER_01It's a trailer park in East Palestine, Ohio. Look, I feel like I feel like that's the equivalent of like our little Kentucky town. If I told you that I was going to a trailer park to to meet with a prostitute, what would you expect this woman to look like for $140?
SPEAKER_00Well, I would um first off, I'd be a friend.
SPEAKER_01I'd feel like that's I feel like that's expensive for a guy like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'd be like I'd be like $140. I think you could talk her town. Tell me to get a little more. Where you mean they're at again? Oh.
SPEAKER_01But let's just say that this is where she lives. I uh that's we could have he should have he should have been more he should have been more of a gentleman with this and set it up at a classy hotel because he did recently file for divorce from his wife before this.
SPEAKER_00He should have met her at the best western he was taken.
SPEAKER_01Maybe she caught him with maybe she got him with a prostitute before this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. He I didn't know that he had just gotten divorced. Yeah, I learned this after the fact. He that's tough. He's going through a lot right now. Yeah. Because you know his ex-wife just saw that.
SPEAKER_01He's like, oh, and you're fucking a prostitute in a trailer park.
SPEAKER_00Buddy, like, you're a billionaire. Like, there's you can't meet women another way.
SPEAKER_01You you should have that just it's really gross because it's almost like how you're looking at these things. At least we could have put her in the writs. Flew her fly her out to a nice place. You know, treat this woman with some respect. You just wanted a gutter dog whore. You just you just wanted to reach down in the gutter and say, this woman doesn't know who I am. He showed up and probably just like a he probably went to Walmart and bought himself like a Haynes White T. Oh my god, bro. He reached down to the bottom.
SPEAKER_00Jed.
SPEAKER_01This woman probably does heroin. He might do it with her.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's from Ohio. He might do heroin.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00They're getting drugged up. Jed York, man. Shout out. That's no, never mind. Not a shout out.
SPEAKER_01Not a shout-out.
SPEAKER_00It's not a shout out. Jed, you're a dirt bag. But you got $8.6 billion, so you can kind of do whatever you want.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, it's nice that you can get off to a much lesser crop crime.
SPEAKER_00Hey, look, in the grand scheme of things that have been happening in the NFL, what Jed has done is like not even that bad. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, he didn't like try to hit anybody with their car or like kidnap anybody. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right. Jed. She's fine. It's a nausei. This is a victimless crime here.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Jed got what he paid for.
SPEAKER_01He had to donate $140 to that. They said it was a donation. We uh back to some NFL dudes. That shit's about bad.
SPEAKER_00Ashton Gente, we thought he tore his ACL. You remember that?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, let me set the stage for this. I'm a proud owner of Ashton Genty in a dynasty league.
SPEAKER_00Governor. No, I'm kidding. That was an NBA joke.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we still have owners in the NFL. That's a real sport. So I'm just, you know, chilling at home, you know, relaxing, enjoying my evening, get a text message pop up, just a couple of screenshots showing what happened to them at practice on Sunday. And it just looked I don't know what's been going on with the NFL this year, and the apparent injury that used to mean something. You know, injuries are actually down this training. Well, yeah, but I'm saying used to the headline used to be so-and-so offered an apparent injury, and it was like Achilles, ACL, MCL, cooked for the season. Right. Okay, these people okay, maybe maybe God's works. Because they took a knee and prayed after this injury because he couldn't put any weight on it. And uh the next day you wake up and the headline is Ashton Genty has a sprained ankle.
SPEAKER_00You know what this reminded me of? What? When I sprained my ankle. Which time? Does Ashton Genty have a little bit of Paul Pierce in him?
SPEAKER_01He just had to go to the bathroom. He's coming back out and had to.
SPEAKER_00Take the wheelchair.
SPEAKER_01Dude. First off, why are we diving that hard at practice for dirt balls? Shout out Kirk Cousins for almost killing me in fantasy.
SPEAKER_00You know what it says? Ashton Genty just wants to be great. He wants to be great. Hey, yeah, it's a sprained ankle though, because legitimately the entire day before was just like Ashton Genty's Tours ACL. It's a broken fibula.
SPEAKER_01Man. Dude, for like five hours, you're just like constantly. I'm just like literally just refreshing Ashton Genty news, just waiting for Shefty to say it's nothing. Or something.
SPEAKER_00I'm just like, man, this is.
SPEAKER_01Bro, people people drafted Ashton Genty in fantasy and like immediately traded them before anything.
SPEAKER_00That's uh that's not even the crazy shit. Like there was drafts from Mike Washington was pushed up to like the 37th.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was like the 37th pick off the board. What a what a reaction. Somebody, somebody, you know, somebody got genty in like the 12th. Oh my god, what a steal. It's just like, well, but what if?
SPEAKER_00What a steal.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he he absolutely dodged a bullet a bullet. I mean, man, if they would have hurt, if he if he would have been done for the year, I would have been devastated in fantasy.
SPEAKER_00It's just crazy because like the way that the way that it was set up, they're like, yeah, the the team after the injury, they they all kneeled on the ground. Yeah, they cut the music off in the practice, like they kneeled and said a prayer, like fuck.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, yo, he's dead. I mean, I'm sitting over here thinking, like, is his career over? Like, bro, is he gonna need to get his shit amputated?
SPEAKER_00Like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_01Like, I thought I was waiting to see a video of his shit being like Paul George.
SPEAKER_00The prayers worked. Man, shout out to the prayers. It was a sprained ankle.
SPEAKER_01They still have yet to say how severe it is.
SPEAKER_00Sprained ankles can suck.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, this could also be something that is lingering throughout the season.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean, they take, you know, like a high ankle sprain's like probably That's like a four to six week injury.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's like a four to six week. But that's also something that lingers as well.
SPEAKER_00But you you lose a little bit of production after like the first three weeks, but then after that, like it picks back up. Yeah. That's what the statistics say.
SPEAKER_01Right. So you're telling me that he missed six weeks, so he's probably gonna miss week what, two, three, and then he's gonna come back and be what eighty percent till week six.
SPEAKER_00If you get him, if you get him back to Ashton Gente by week eight, you're fine.
SPEAKER_01I mean, bro, back to Ashton Gente, bro. He was a 975-yard rushing running back. You're like he wasn't nothing if he gets back to Ashton Genty, I'm a little disappointed.
SPEAKER_00I need a big what'd he finish? What'd he finish?
SPEAKER_0112th, running back 12. Yeah, in fact. RB12, that's great. Anyways, yeah, I mean, that's fine. It's nice and all, but I'm saying a 975 rushing yards, that's not what you want to see from you don't want him to get back to that. Yeah, you want to see a run for two. 1300, 14. I thought I was expecting a big year from Jetty. I don't know about you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I uh here's some more news for you. Kaisan Booty was traded to the Texans. I like that trade. I uh well, chill out. They said he might not even be a starter. But I mean, I wonder if it's which is crazy, just because like I don't think Xavier Hutchins is a good thing. I don't think he's that good either.
SPEAKER_01Tang Dill.
SPEAKER_00He's what if he's back? I don't know. You want to talk about somebody that's been through some shit.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Damn it.
SPEAKER_01But unfortunately, bro, just imagine he's gonna have to have PTSD for as long as he's in Houston. If CJ Stroud threw him that ball, like every time he throws him an end zone pass, it's gonna be like, oof. He was sick. It was.
SPEAKER_00I mean, have you seen any videos of like yeah? No, I mean he looks explosive. I just I you you won't really know until you see a full game speed. Yeah. I uh a little hesitant. Dude, his knees, his body at a lot of damage, yeah, and it's not like he's the biggest guy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he's he's already like had concerns about it. He's like a fucking 180-pound wide receiver.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's like 5'7, 5'8. Yeah, he's not not very big. But yeah, I think K Sean Booty could be like he could be. I mean, Nico's always been the over-the-middle guy. Like, yeah, you know, like Nico's never been, I mean, he runs go routes, but like that's never been like his calling card. It's always deep, over the middle, yeah. You know, he's he's always been good for a good slant. But yeah, Kayshawn Booty is a legitimate deep threat. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Now I mean we see him do a uh deal a lot of that in New York.
SPEAKER_00You lose Drake May throwing you the ball. It's a big drop-off. Gain CJ Stroud. Take that for one. What are we saying?
SPEAKER_01CJ Stroud's back.
SPEAKER_00Who said that? I just made that up. Yeah, I was about to say I didn't say that. Oh, here's some we got some more news. Rashad Bateman arrested for being a dirtbag. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But his baby mama's now said that she made that up because she wants to get him, she wanted him in trouble. Maybe she's like, oh fuck, that's how my make my money. He didn't do these things. Bruh.
SPEAKER_00Or is that real?
SPEAKER_01Yes. Yeah, no, I just made it up. No, I just yes, it's real. I mean, we're not experts. Well, yeah, but we're not fake news. Like this isn't CN.
SPEAKER_00Jesus. I'm just kidding. We can't go head to head with a corporate conglomerate yet.
SPEAKER_01Well, we never we don't have to worry about that. They don't really have a sports section until they unless you're taking a knee.
SPEAKER_00Oh, buddy. Shout out to uh shout out to the NFL. I I saw, do you have anything else on Rashad Bateman being a dirtbag? Which allegedly might not have been a dirtbag.
SPEAKER_01I don't like that I did read that that happened. I don't know if he did it and now she just doesn't want him to actually get in trouble or if he actually didn't do it. That's a tricky situation.
SPEAKER_00Well, you know way more about that than I do.
SPEAKER_01I just saw it. I just saw it. I didn't I didn't go out here and become a mad scientist. I mean, it is it is Rashad Bateman we're talking about. Okay, he's not exactly he was supposed to be sick.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, a lot of people are supposed to be. Do you remember him in Minnesota? I remember him. He was sick.
SPEAKER_01He was sick. Yeah, that was supposed to be a sick ass draft class.
SPEAKER_00It wasn't wide receiver, the first round wide receiver. He was a dog. Not anymore. He's a dog for the wrong reasons.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, some of some people were like, I think you had said that you thought that he may have been able to do something in Baltimore.
SPEAKER_00Well, you know, before before they traded for Kayshawn Booty, the Texans, they were also interested in Rashad Bateman.
SPEAKER_01Interesting. Yeah. Not really a needle mover, honestly. If we're being serious, like with or without that, I liked Jaden Higgins, but like you could have almost made it a case that they needed like another guy. I don't know, man.
SPEAKER_00The buzz around Jaden Higgins was getting outrageous.
SPEAKER_01I had Jaden Higgins in our other dynasty league. Not anymore. Not until next year.
SPEAKER_00I had Trey Benson in our other Dynasty League. He got waived and cleaned up.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Saw that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It's almost like I got rid of that guy. I don't know what to do with him. I don't know if I should drop it.
SPEAKER_01Might as well.
SPEAKER_00I mean, he's I was really hoping that he would get picked up, somebody that really was.
SPEAKER_01He didn't really create he didn't really cur do anything to like show off his what people thought he was going to be coming out of college, and then he got hurt, and then he got hurt, and you know, now some people thought he was better than Jonathan Brooks.
SPEAKER_00Me, I was one of those people. Oh, were you?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I was big on Trey Benson. I was I used to have Trey Benson.
SPEAKER_00I didn't like either one of them. I I have Jonathan Benson.
SPEAKER_01You have them both. You have Trey Benson and Jonathan Brooks. I like Jonathan Brooks. Preseason football. Yeah. Anyways, man, the rivalry jerseys were dropped today. I think it was the AFC South and the NFC North.
SPEAKER_00Dude.
SPEAKER_01There was some Fuego releases today.
SPEAKER_00I think they all look good. I think they all look good. Every one of them looks good.
SPEAKER_01I think that the like there are ones that I just liked so much that made the other ones that I don't really like them at all. I don't know if they necessarily look bad. Like the Vikings jersey, all that really looked different was like that little like band on the sleeve. Yeah, they're dope. That's all you guys say. I thought that shit was dope. Yeah, they're dope. I wasn't a huge fan of the Packers. I like the number. Like the how the like the style of the number. I mean, is it plain?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's plain, but it's different.
SPEAKER_01The Bears had the like what makes theirs to me is the orange, the orange helmet and the orange pants, like the little stripes on the sleeves.
SPEAKER_00Here's the problem with what the Bears did.
SPEAKER_01It's just the navy. They didn't change like a it's like a not an alternate color.
SPEAKER_00So I'm about to show you. Have you seen the video? Have you seen the zesty ass pose Caleb Williams did?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_01Hold on, I'm selling my stock.
SPEAKER_00It's you know.
SPEAKER_01I am selling my stock in Caleb Williams.
SPEAKER_00If you haven't seen the release video for the Bears uniform yet, you should go watch it and decide for yourself. It's it's a tad bit test.
SPEAKER_01If you're a Bears fan, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00You're a Bears fan by default.
SPEAKER_01I'm out. I need to we're gonna have another predictions. We have more knowledge now. We've got some more data that we could dissect.
SPEAKER_00I uh but yeah, no, all the all the jerseys they look pretty good. The Detroit one's probably my least favorite.
SPEAKER_01Really?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I uh does it not just remind you of the Panthers uniform? Not really. With Detroit around the front? It doesn't?
SPEAKER_01Not really at all. I mean they have a blue helmet.
SPEAKER_00I'm about to show I'm about to show you another picture of them side by side.
SPEAKER_01No, I I've seen it with the one with Bryce Young on it. Yeah. That's fine.
SPEAKER_00I mean those don't look easier.
SPEAKER_01No, because they have the things that are like pointy and hate the collars.
SPEAKER_00Don't hear what I'm not saying. The blue helmet's fire. It's recycled.
SPEAKER_01It doesn't matter. It's fire. But it is fire. I like the Colts. I like the Colts.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, the Colts was the Colts look good. The Titans looked good.
SPEAKER_01The helmets could have a little bit of bias, but I feel like that was the best one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I really like the package.
SPEAKER_01The baby blue helmet made made the made the shield look a lot better to me. I like the navy. I like the navy shield.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01I like the music city.
SPEAKER_00I like I love the music city.
SPEAKER_01I like the little thing that they did with the numbers, the the the subtle detail on the side. Did you see like the amplified shoe guitar strings?
SPEAKER_00The jags are fire. Yeah, they didn't do enough for me. The helmet is ridiculous.
SPEAKER_01I like the number style. I don't like that. I hate that they gave some teams a white jersey. Like I feel like it should just be colors. Because when you're playing these, it's like you might as well. They didn't stop it when they did the color rush. Like the Houston, I don't like the Texans. You don't? No. I think they're fired. I just don't like the continuing to use our colors. I don't. This is the colour. If y'all are still hung up on that shit, like, bro, look, we retroed. We just retroed our colors because we just made our colors our colors. It's just like, how about and then they're like, how about we use your colors too? Just imagine being salty. And then they put that lame ass H on the side. Like it didn't, it didn't. I didn't like the H on the Navy helmet. What the fuck made you think that I was gonna like it in on in baby blue and white shit?
SPEAKER_00Did you say that you liked the Packers helmet or not?
SPEAKER_01No, it's just the white helmet. They wear that. They already wear that helmet. It's just a white helmet. They have that. I like the Packers. It feels like a Notre Dame alternate jersey.
SPEAKER_00You know, the ones that Notre Dame's wearing in the Lambeau field game this year against Wisconsin are insane.
SPEAKER_01Packers drew some inspiration.
SPEAKER_00I like those. I like them all. I do.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I don't love them all. I like the ones that I really like. I feel like I feel like last year's were better. I'm just glad that. The Cardinals jersey last year is hitting harder than everyone this year. That jersey was sick. That 49ers. Sick. The rank.
SPEAKER_00Dolphins. The Dolphins was sick. I just like when they do something different.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. My thing is, is bro, I feel like I like the Titans so much. I wish they would have just made that.
SPEAKER_00That's the jersey I'm gonna buy.
SPEAKER_01Me too. I told Lindsay that today. I said, man, I'm so glad I didn't buy like the regular jersey.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna get that too. I'm gonna get the white jersey.
SPEAKER_01I'm not.
SPEAKER_00The white jersey. I can't.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna get the navy and the baby blue. I can't get the white because I'm gonna wear it and ruin it. Me too. I can't do that. Me too. I'm gonna have to keep buying them. I can't be walking around with a non-crispy jersey. I can't keep buying them either, but it's so fresh I gotta wear it.
SPEAKER_00I do like the white. We we will uh do you have anything else? I don't, man. I don't have anything else. I don't.
SPEAKER_01Other than the fact that I feel like maybe we can hit on this more so on the next episode. We're gonna we're gonna come with like we're gonna start looking at more predictions after the offseason, like right before preseason. We've got some injury stuff that's been changing and impacting the league. Let's just we'll just see if anything's changed.
SPEAKER_00So this this will come out on Wednesday. The next pod will be on Friday for the foreseeable future, unless circumstances change. We will be doing Wednesday Friday releases for the pod.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna recap one week, pre preview the next.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And we're gonna have some some stupid ass takes. You know, all kinds of other shit like that, too. We're figuring it out. We're just having fun.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, it's we've never claimed to be professionals.
SPEAKER_01Or experts.
SPEAKER_00Or experts. That's the one that I claim the least.
SPEAKER_01Alright, man. I hate when people tell me that I think I'm an expert because I tell them. Maybe I just like talking shit. I'm not. Yeah. Maybe I just like talking ball. And you're gonna you're gonna see, man. We're gonna have some pred some more predictions and stuff on the way. Football season is almost here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what, three Sundays away?
SPEAKER_01I can't wait to see serious football.
SPEAKER_00First, I guess what the first game's what the night? The sixth, yeah.
SPEAKER_01No, is uh no, it's the ninth. It's like the Wednesday after my birthday.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because it's a week later this year.
SPEAKER_01Hey, we're almost we're almost back. We can all start smiling again.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, preseason's actually not been horrible. Everybody's got hope. Everybody does have hope. That's the great thing about the start of the season.
SPEAKER_01Man, everybody feels like it's their year to be a big thing.
SPEAKER_00In week one, I think we can both attest. Week one's always the craziest. Always. Yeah. I mean, there's a single year there's a game where a bad team beats the fuck out of a good team. Last year it was the Raiders beating the Patriots. Like it happens every single year. Who's it gonna be this year? Yeah, that's how you gotta that's how you're gonna win your do you have one? Do you have one? I would have to look over this.
SPEAKER_01I have one that I'm looking at. Who? You're gonna hate it. Alright. Part of me just feels like the New York Giants over the Dallas Cowboys week one.
SPEAKER_00The fact that that's a week one matchup, I I kinda love that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I I mean let's just get a divisional game to start the season for everybody and one to end the season.
SPEAKER_00I love that. Then divisional game. A FL holler at me. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, it it also gets the j I feel like it gets the juices flowing a little bit more too. You start the season against a rival.
SPEAKER_00Look, I say like we say that just like I haven't thought much about it. Thinking about it like everybody's a little bit rusty, week one. Yeah. A little bit more of a wild card. That's true. I don't know. Because you do always have like there's a chance, like there's a world where the Jets come out and Gino does for 450 and 5 against the Titans.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I feel like that's you putting a little stock in preseason.
SPEAKER_00Why would I what does that mean? Oh, because Gino had one good drive?
SPEAKER_01Well, because the Titans' defense has looked awful in preseason.
SPEAKER_00It has.
SPEAKER_01You wouldn't have said this before we played a football game.
SPEAKER_00I wouldn't even say this if they were playing ones, probably. But they haven't played a single one yet. Except the strip club.
SPEAKER_01The strip club? That is hard.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, DeShaunce. Do you ever see that yet? It's hard. I've seen it everywhere. I thought it was hard to the strip club.
SPEAKER_01But but yeah, no. I haven't put anything in anything. I'm trying to avoid it because you get depressed. Yeah. Yeah. It's hard because it just feels like I'm preparing myself.
SPEAKER_00You saw Cam Ward and you're like, boy. If that's Cam Ward.
SPEAKER_01I'm hearing a whole lot of meals. And a lot of people, a lot of people are saying, like, going into the season, I think his touchdown line was like 19 and a half. And I was like, oh, that's over. And then you watch him and you're like, Oh, that's under. And then you got my boss like, uh, it's preseason.
SPEAKER_00It's preseason. So you you Well look, like you, you, you gotta almost expect, you gotta almost expect that teams are trying stuff new. Like this isn't like they're not, yeah, like they're running plays that they're gonna run in the regular season, but they're also trying to install things that what can we do?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, what can we do? Like are you concerned at all that Carnell Tate doesn't have a catch?
SPEAKER_00I saw this funny ass tweet. I wish I would have remembered who it was by to give him credit for it. He said at this pace, Carnell Tate is on pace for like 114 targets, zero catches.
SPEAKER_01Obviously, that's not gonna happen. But I mean, but seriously, like, does it make you feel any type of way? Uh five targets, no catches.
SPEAKER_00Is it great? He should have had that first one the other night. That went off of his fingertips. Like he should have caught that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Other than that, no, not really. It it doesn't it doesn't really bother me.
SPEAKER_01Doesn't really bother you. Okay. Hey, that's fair.
SPEAKER_00Like it's hard for me to sit on it. It doesn't necessarily bother me. Like, would I like to see him doing what Deshaun Striblin's doing? Like he's eaten.
SPEAKER_01But you don't think that you don't think that Deshaun Striblin's about to come in here as wide receiver three and do that. I don't well.
SPEAKER_00I don't know if he's gonna be wide receiver three. He's gonna be wide receiver two. He might be wide receiver one.
SPEAKER_01Mike Evans will be back.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Alright. Yeah, because you know a 33-year-old wide receiver is not a concern next to an electrical substation.
SPEAKER_01That's fair too. Anybody but McCaffrey. His are stronger than ever. The substation's just Christian McCaffrey's out here on some evil genius shit, hacking it in, stealing their health.
SPEAKER_00I mean, look at Jed. Look what the substation made him do. Hey, just another conspiracy.
SPEAKER_01I'm just saying. I'm just saying. But uh, I think that's gonna wrap this one up.
SPEAKER_00That's it. Follow us on all of our social media Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. We don't really use Instagram yet. We need to. You can follow it. Yeah, please. Yeah, you can follow it regardless. We're not experts.
SPEAKER_01But Twitter is we're not experts. Twitter is we not experts. That's correct.
SPEAKER_00Because we are not experts.
SPEAKER_01We're not. Someone wanted to take it. Wonder if they're using it? Who knows? Will we buy it? Absolutely not. We not experts, brother.
SPEAKER_00That will not be something we'd be purchasing.
SPEAKER_01It's not on the bucket list. You should just donate it for a good cause.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, if you happen to listen to it. Yeah, follow us on all of our social media.
SPEAKER_01You know, as always, like, share, subscribe, all that good jazz.
SPEAKER_00Man. Do it.
SPEAKER_01And we will see y'all on the next one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Friday. That's Friday. The Friday. Friday is the next one, brother. We're two days a week.
SPEAKER_01See y'all on Friday.
SPEAKER_00Man.
