We're Not Experts
We’re Not Experts is a podcast hosted by two guys who’ve somehow survived 15+ years of friendship and now think that qualifies them to talk into microphones. We’re average early 30’s dudes with very strong opinions and very average credentials—which is exactly the point.
We’re sports ethicists in the loosest sense of the term, breaking down the morals, madness, and mayhem of a wide variety of sports… but let’s be honest: football will absolutely hijack the conversation. We can talk about other sports. We just won’t stop talking about football.
Expect passionate debates, hot takes that cool off immediately, arguments that go nowhere, and the occasional moment of clarity that surprises everyone—including them. Stats may appear. Logic might leave the room. Confidence will always be high.
We’re not analysts. We’re not insiders. We’re definitely not experts.
We’re just two longtime friends talking sports the way most people do—too confidently, for too long, and with absolutely no credentials to back it up.
We’re Not Experts — and neither are you, so you’ll fit right in.

Football is back, everybody's hurt, everybody's getting paid, and WNE is officially going TWO DAYS A WEEK. We're so back.
We are not experts. Episode 35, Back in the Cave, Raleigh Jones, Justin Butler. We we got big news today. Man. But first, we got other news that's not nearly as big as the news at the end of the show. That's right. That's our teaser. That's your reason to stay. It's gonna be a long one. It has nothing to do with anything that we're gonna talk about. It does have something to do with us, though. Yeah. It's pretty exciting. First things first on today's list, we're gonna talk about a kid who probably was maybe the most talented wide receiver in this class.
SPEAKER_00Arguably. I think a lot of people definitely said he probably had the high ceiling.
SPEAKER_01For sure. I think that. I think I believe that.
SPEAKER_00But he had some injury concerns.
SPEAKER_01He's too twitchy. Way too twitchy. Hamstring.
SPEAKER_00Got too much twitch. Hamstring just not strong enough to keep up twitchiness.
SPEAKER_01He this cat's been injured since like 2024. Man, and was still a top ten pick. But it was the flashes on the field. He might have it. We're talking about Jordan Tyson.
SPEAKER_00He's so sick. I'm so glad that I ended up with Carnell Tate and fancy. Bro, two months on a hammy is crazy.
SPEAKER_01Let me tell you this. If you have Chris Alabe in a dynasty league, or you were thinking about drafting him in redraft, or you already have drafted him in redraft, congratulations. He's gonna get fed. He could very easily be a top five wide receiver this year.
SPEAKER_00I mean, look, I'm a big Olave guy. I mean, other than the fact that he's always hurt. Well, not well, not always hurt. He's a hit away from death. That's right. Real debt. But but you know, like considering that talent-wise, he's pretty sick. That was a good class. He was a good class receivers. Drake London, Garrett Wilson, all of them somehow injury prone. But all of them also sentenced to hell for their football career.
SPEAKER_01That's true. So Jordan Tyson pulled his hamstring rather significantly, I would assume. I mean, he they said he's out two months. They said the good news was that it wasn't his bad hamstring, the one that he had been pulling. Let me tell you.
SPEAKER_00And he's a stretch to the other side, buddy.
SPEAKER_01Let me let me first off, hamstrings are a death to wide receivers.
SPEAKER_00Man. He really might be fighting this his entire career.
SPEAKER_01And if not, I mean, maybe not the entire career, but certainly probably the rest of the season. Yes. I you tell me that it's good news that it's his other hamstring. I say that's bad news. That's bad news because now he's got two bad hamstrings. He didn't just have one. You're gonna be overcompensating twice. He's just maybe he just can't compensate on either one. He should just run his routes in a wheelchair. Buddy, it's tragic. It's it sucks when you see a player with this talent get off to this kind of start. I mean, you he took the necessary time. This is the whole reason he didn't do OTAs or anything like that. Like it was to take the necessary time to heal the hamstring.
SPEAKER_00And I mean, dear God, he got I mean, dear God, he got drafted in what April? He played his last football game in what January or late December? I mean, dear God. That was before that, wasn't it? Yeah, I mean, well, I don't did they play a bowl game? Yeah, but I doubt he would have played in it. Yeah, probably. I didn't play anything significant. Yeah. But yeah, I mean, damn, dude, what a hammy. Too twitchy. Too much twitch. Too much twitch for them hamstrings. Man, he wouldn't have that problem if he was white. You know what else?
SPEAKER_01Because they are quick, but not fast. This is something that seems to be affecting my team and and dynasty quite a bit, and it's the groin. The groin. They uh there's a podcast I listened to, and they were they they advised that they should butterfly stretch.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Stretch the groin. I don't know if nobody butterfly stretches anymore.
SPEAKER_00I don't, but I'm also not a professional athlete.
SPEAKER_01I would think Puka Naku and Brees Hall would be butterfly stretching. Hopefully.
SPEAKER_00Look, we have a we have a joke going on between you and me in our dynasty. Your team's name is Martin Luther Burden Jr.
SPEAKER_01And I want this to be known that that's not found on the internet. I came up with that on my own. So if that's on the internet, don't come at me. Don't be like, yo, you just took that from somebody. I came up with that. And I can vouch for this because you're not an internet guy.
SPEAKER_00Like, you're not. This was 100% original. You didn't have a Facebook until we made a pod. Man. Twitter, same thing. All you had was your old company Instagram that you were marketing off of.
SPEAKER_01So, I mean, look, it's a great name. I took Luther Burden and put it into AI and put him on Martin Luther King's body at the speech. I thought, you know, we have a dream. That's the slogan, man.
SPEAKER_00Unfortunately. This is a little distasteful, but unfortunately, a dream is but a dream. And that man was his dream was ended.
SPEAKER_01You're gonna tell me it was James Earl. It's James Earl Ray. And I'm gonna tell you he is the CIA.
SPEAKER_00So when he drops his pick in the dynasty, when he sends me the pick, I'm like, oh bet, I got the perfect comeback. Because not to, you know, tear in any old wounds or reopen those, but I beat the fuck out of Raleigh in our dynasty fantasy championship. He did. And so I've been kind of trolling them with the James Earl Ray, because you know that's the man who shot Martin Luther King Jr. Tough. So every time somebody on his dynasty team gets hurt, I just send them James Earl Ray's mug shot. It's okay. So far, so far, look, he's managed, I mean, Brees Haw, Puka Nakua, Jaden Higgins, who else? You got a Devonta Smith, Luther Burden. You've got a bunch of early small injuries. They've taken shots. Warning shots, man. We don't want to take them out. We're just telling him he should probably change his name and his slogan, or else there could be some consequences. History does repeat itself.
SPEAKER_01Stand down, is what he's telling me. They said that history often repeats itself. I texted him last night. I texted him last night and said you can kill the man, but you can't kill the dream. Okay. We uh Devon Weatherspoon got an absolute bag.
SPEAKER_00And I have the same take that I've been having all offseason when people get paid. Do you have the deal in front of you? No, I don't.
SPEAKER_01It's like $108 million guaranteed. I think it was like $129 million.
SPEAKER_00You got a Zay Flowers bag. He's more effective. I will, yeah. I will about to say this. If you looked at Devin Witherspoon and Zay Flowers as far as their respective positions, I would I would take the guy in Seattle well over the Zay Flowers.
SPEAKER_01He deserved the bag.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, it's it's definitely deserved the bag.
SPEAKER_01And he's not going to be the number one paid corner for long.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, I mean, he should just, I mean, I'm if I'm Christian Gonzalez, I'm saying, hey, it's time for me to get a bigger bag. He will. He will get a bigger bag. PS2 needs to be like, hey, I know we just did our deal kind of recently, but look, this guy shouldn't be getting paid more than that. He will. Derek Stingley is gonna get an absolute bag.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Dude, that's Houston team is.
SPEAKER_00Do you think uh do you think Seattle takes a step back defensively this year? I don't. They kind of lost him.
SPEAKER_01Because we can just jump right into this because I know you're gonna hate this. We're gonna skip over a couple things. We'll come back to them. But Terry and Arnold just signed to the Seahawks, too. Something you said couldn't be done. I'm just in shock. Guess who else had a dream? Terry and Arnold has a dream that he's gonna still play in the NFL.
SPEAKER_00And look, and I'm the fact that he's focused on playing football instead of trying to beat the case is crazy.
SPEAKER_01I mean, there's my lawyers handling that. Why are they not? Why they could they're not mutually exclusive? Like he can worry about both things at the same time.
SPEAKER_00He's got a nine to five.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Like he can worry. He's still gonna make money.
SPEAKER_00They're gonna ask him in an interview, and they're gonna be.
SPEAKER_01Can we be honest for a second? I mean, James Pierce Jr. only got eight games. He got an eight-game suspension. We're talking about a guy who chased his girlfriend, he was so scared that she decided to go to the police department where he then chases her and rams her car with his car. He resists arrest. I mean, we're talking about he endangered people's lives just like Terry and Arnold endangered people's lives, but one's more significant than the other.
SPEAKER_00And got an eight-game suspension for it.
SPEAKER_01So if I'm the NFL, I'm looking at Terry and Arnold, this looks like eight games. Right? What's can you how's one worse than the other? It's not. One's not. It's not worse than the other. It should be eight games at most. It should be eight games at most.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah. I mean, look, the precedent is set. I I I really, you know, by the time this thing's over and and done with, I don't think his suspension's gonna matter or how many games it is. I mean, he did get put on the commissioner's exempt list. Right. Which is not exactly suspended.
SPEAKER_01Did James Pierce Jr. ever find his way to the Commissioner's exempt list? No. I don't believe so.
SPEAKER_00So so so he's gonna get Terry and Arnold's gonna get found not guilty, and he's just gonna be like, all right, you're good. Right. You're not guilty of anything.
SPEAKER_01Dude. Too bad. I'm serious when I say this that they did this. Like the NFL did this. Terry and Arnold should get an eight-game suspension and he should be back on the field. The Lions are idiots for cutting him, especially if he can play.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, ah man.
SPEAKER_01I mean, what a goofy moment. Why not just wait it out?
SPEAKER_00You could have just waited it out. Yeah, well, you know, maybe the they may have been pressured, you know, when that came out. Yeah, it wasn't a good look.
SPEAKER_01I didn't say it was a good look. I I would did what he do, was it right? The answer's no.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, depends on who you're asking. Like the I mean, the part of the intentions were in the streets, definitely right. Because, you know, he could have gone to the feds and done all that, snitched, whatever. He tried to handle his business. The problem is, it seems like the business he was handling were with the wrong people.
SPEAKER_01That's not great. That's not great.
SPEAKER_00He's gonna get off on a mistaken identity. Like I only did it because I thought that they were them. Shout out to the matter of fact, shout out to the Seahawks for this.
SPEAKER_01Take some balls. Yeah, it takes some balls, but like if it works in your favor, you made an excellent move. Man, it's an excellent move.
SPEAKER_00And you know, that and the thing that's crazy about it that makes it smart for the Seahawks is I mean, let's just say I told you. I mean, this trial is this trial is gonna it's not gonna be something that starts in a couple weeks. Yeah, no. So, you know, he he might be playing like a year and a half of football before he goes to trial.
SPEAKER_01It's possible. I mean, there's a chance that he doesn't play at all this year. And then he gets an eight-game suspension next year. Because if it's more than that, the NFL's foul. The Seahawks are still like, yeah, we still want him when he comes off the exempt list. Yeah, like, I mean, he can't practice, but he could stay in shape. I think it's, you know. He was solid.
SPEAKER_00He better start practicing them burpees and shit he's gonna be having to do on the yard.
SPEAKER_01You're convinced he's going to prison.
SPEAKER_00I'm bro, look, the story that I read.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm not. He could beat the case, though.
SPEAKER_00How?
SPEAKER_01Money. He's got he's got the money to pay for a good lawyer on the city. And that just could go a long way.
SPEAKER_00Look, bro, if that was me, I'm going to trial like 60 days after the crime has been committed. And you don't have a big enough bag to pay a good enough lawyer. They're gonna give me like three life sentences. Terry and Arnold's gonna get 30 days. They would have planted some cocaine on you. Man, like I would have been buried under the fucking jail.
SPEAKER_01Bruh. Alright, man. Shout out Terry and Arnold. I don't know how you did it. Shout out to your lawyer, your your team of representatives. And his agent. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because imagine getting a deal. Like, imagine getting a deal, and you're like.
SPEAKER_01Your agent is is fantastic. Let's see. We got Keenan Allen to the Colts. That happened, what, last night? Mm-hmm. Yeah. How do you feel about that? Buddy, it's it's more like it for Daniel Jones. It's more significant than it's not.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, I think I don't think it's a significant move in the sense of like, will he be a difference maker? Right. I think it's the significance to me is the first hand that I went through is how hurt is Alec Pierce.
SPEAKER_01It's not, it doesn't look great. I mean, there's a there, I it's not your take's cooked. It's not looking good.
SPEAKER_00And and I'll say this too. I think Keenan Allen, even at his age, is good enough to where, like, even if Alec Pierce is ready to play week one, which I mean we know he's not, but if he was, like, I still think that makes a very significant impact on what he would have done this season for sure. So to me, it takes away what you were expecting by saying, Oh, yeah, you pay him $30 million, like he's gonna be getting that eight-yard curl route or that six-yard slant pass, or that you can't forget, like, they still had Tyler Warren and Josh Downs.
SPEAKER_01I feel like it affects them more than it affects Alec Pierce. Just because neither one of them can do what Alec Pierce does, just run down the field far. Which I mean, look, you say it like that, but it's still it is it is a big thing.
SPEAKER_00It's a necessary trait. Right.
SPEAKER_01And not one, not I mean, Tyler Warren could probably do it the best out of those three and Keenan Allen, Josh Downs, and Tyler Warren, but I mean, it's not necessarily his game. It's 100% not Keenan Allen's game anymore. And it's not Josh Downs' game either.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but I just think a lot of those opportunities that slightly, well, maybe not necessarily a lot of them, but some of those opportunities where you're gonna take that shot to Alec Pierce, you're gonna just take that little quick dump down to Keenan Allen.
SPEAKER_01You're right. Like it's I think it's good for Daniel Jones. Like he's a consistent target.
SPEAKER_00You get somebody that's you get a vet in the locker room, somebody that's consistent, great.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he's got glue for hands. Like he's gonna be in the right spot at the right time. Him and Shane Steichen had like seven or eight years together.
SPEAKER_00So he's familiar with the offense.
SPEAKER_01He knows the offense, like he knows the head coach, like the guy calling the plays.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I uh it's and you've got other pieces around you where you don't have to be significant. To be honest, like I mean, if he's a 500-yard receiver, you're happy with that.
SPEAKER_01I well, look, this is what's crazy. So he's 10th on the receptions list all time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01If he has 48 catches, he's third.
SPEAKER_00You think he gets 48 catches?
SPEAKER_01I would if I would probably hammer the over. Yeah. I would if it was over 50, I would probably take that. That's crazy. I feel like that's wild. I, you know, he's just man, he's 30.
SPEAKER_00What is he, 34 now? 32. Nah, he's like 34.
SPEAKER_01He's like 32, I think. Nah, he's definitely not 32. Even if he is 34, which I don't think he is, I you know, it's not much. Cainan Allen is 34 years old. 34? 34. Oh. Well, I mean, look, even it's not gonna take much to get 50 catches when you're running a five-yard curl.
SPEAKER_00That is true.
SPEAKER_01You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_00But I mean, I don't think he got that last year, though, did he?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. He had the most receptions on the Chargers last year. Did he? Yeah, I know. That's crazy. You're like, what the f man?
SPEAKER_00That's like a very oh my god, bro. Yeah. Here's the thing. Okay, 50 catches, absolutely. I mean, God, he's never not.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, he's been a reception hog.
SPEAKER_00He had 81 catches last year.
SPEAKER_01He's been a reception hog his entire career. Yeah. Yeah. That's what I mean though. But this is the thing. Like, I didn't think that he was gonna go back to the Chargers. I thought that that spots filled, right?
SPEAKER_00Like well, they've got a plethora of the city. You could have put I think that I think Trey Harris is gonna have a good year for them this year.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he's he's a good receiver. You but you could have put him on, I don't know, maybe 30 other teams in the NFL, and I would have looked at you and I'd have been like, I don't think it's that significant. I think that he actually goes into indie and fills a hole.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, has an impact for the ship.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like the there's an actual need for him from the jump.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So I mean, maybe, maybe it's not great all season. Maybe it's the first month of the season, because I mean he is older. He's gonna wear down, break down. He's also had some injury concerns. Yeah, 100%. So I mean, look, I you know, I'm not saying that if you're a big fantasy guy, I'm not saying go and draft him or anything. Maybe take him as an agent. He'd be a good player, he'd be a good spot player for sure. Yeah, take him at the end of the draft, free agent, something like that. I but yeah, no, shout out to shout out to Keenan Allen. I he got eight million dollars to come back and play for another year.
SPEAKER_00That's still pretty solid, yeah. I'm surprised, I'm surprised it took this long for him to sign. Which I mean, you usually do see this with veterans waiting until it's like closer to the beginning of this.
SPEAKER_0134 years old, bad. Training camp was not an option this year. He looked at his age and he said, I'm not doing training camp. Yeah, he's just five. He said, I'm gonna be ready. He's like, find me a spot where I'm comfortable. He's like, if it needs to be back in Chicago, or which I mean, you didn't see that happen unless it was like a significant injury.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I really honestly like wish that he never played that year in Chicago. Wow. Because I mean it's just one of those things, like honestly, like I mean, one, it's so forgetful.
SPEAKER_01It is forgetful, but look, I think he was an important piece for Caleb.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, he was good, but I mean, it's just like, man, you're I don't know. Some of those things, it's it's like it's it's just weird. Like Keenan Allen's just a charger.
SPEAKER_01Well, not anymore. He's a cult.
SPEAKER_00He's an Indian. He went back to San Diego, and it kind of felt like he went back to the city.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry. The NFL's never gonna pick us up now.
SPEAKER_00You don't even know our names.
SPEAKER_01We haven't had a team in fucking San Diego in since sorry, historically, that's a very forgettable, that's a very forgettable franchise.
SPEAKER_00A lot of disappointment.
SPEAKER_01I liked them better when they were the San Diego Chargers.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You know, the San Diego Super Charge. That's way harder. Shout out Chris Berman, man. That's way harder. That was hard. But yeah, I mean, it's just one of those things, like when he when he left, when he went to Chicago and then came back, it just felt like last year was like a last ride for him. I think that's why for me, I was just like, it's kind of weird that he's coming back. Here is the last for the love of the game. Here is the last 34-year-old receiver, you're doing it for the love of the game. Or for eight million dollars, or for the love of the bag. One of the two.
SPEAKER_01Von Miller's going to the Cowboys. Is this any significance to you?
SPEAKER_00I mean, no and yes at the same time. Like, for me.
SPEAKER_01What is he? I think he's 37. Yeah, old as fuck. He's old. He still had nine sacks last year. Yes, that's that's that's that is impressive. Look, I said the same thing. I'm like, God, he's 37. Like, I don't think it's that significant. I just but he can still make a little bit of noise. Like if he comes in at 37 and he gets you, let's just say it's nine sacks.
SPEAKER_00Well, that nine sacks that he got last year came on him only playing like 37% of snaps. Right. Which I don't think. So if you look at his actual like his usage versus production, it's actually some of the most production in the league. Right. But he's on the city. Obviously, if he played 80% of the snaps, he probably still has 12 sacks or 11, maybe.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Like those that's 37% of snaps was probably a lot.
SPEAKER_00So I think the thing, I think the thing for how I feel about the Von Miller thing is like he's gonna make an Impact and spots. I like what it brings to the room because you know you've got, I mean, dude, that defense got it got better. Yeah. Like you can never have too many pass rushers for one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You got a dog in the middle.
SPEAKER_00But you've got who what was who's that guy they just drafted? They draft just drafted air, uh, is it was it Malachi Lawrence or something like that?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. They just drafted him. U U C F.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You've and then you've got Rashawn Gary.
SPEAKER_01Still got Quentin Williams.
SPEAKER_00Kenny Clark. No, Kenny Clark's gone. Like Quentin Williams, that's who it is.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So you you add them, you still got Overshone. Like, so you've got him, he's going to be that guy that comes in on third down.
SPEAKER_01He could pass rushing snaps. Yeah, and like he can.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And it'll at least it look, you're going to have to game plan for him because, yes, obviously, we know we're not talking about fucking prime Von Miller here. But when you look at the ones that have had similar production at the age of Von Miller is now versus what they did when they played that late, you're talking about a Hall of Fame caliber player. He's going to be able to be a mentor to those guys, leadership. Like, he's going to add a lot to the locker room, more than what he's going to add on the field, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_01I like what Jerry's cooking.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I and and they may not be done. I like what Jerry's cooking. There are rumblings that they're looking for, still interested in Max Crosby. Hey, if now look, if that happens, they become dangerous. They might be a legitimate Super Bowl contender if they weren't able to Max Crosby.
SPEAKER_01Especially if you can if you can just replicate, if you can just replicate the quarterback play in the regular season to the playoffs.
SPEAKER_00Oh man.
SPEAKER_01100%.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, speaking of the Cowboys while we're on there, you hear like Dak Prescott and George Pickens and all of them talking about how they want to be the greatest offense of all time.
SPEAKER_01Do you feel like that's crazy?
SPEAKER_00I think it's crazy for George Pickens to when I was it George Pickens or CeeDee Lamb. One of them said that they were going to have like the best wide receiver season ever. Like combined. Well, buddy, I looked at the stats. They'd have to have about 3,400, 33, 3,400 yards combined. So they would both have to have career years. Right. Both of them to be better than their career high. And I think CDs is like 1750.
SPEAKER_01So is it impossible? No.
SPEAKER_00I think it's unit's unlikely.
SPEAKER_01One, I think there are the capability.
SPEAKER_00I think that the pieces are there. Yeah, but I don't see kind of having the volume to be able to do it. You expect them to be a lot better.
SPEAKER_01Health is going to be a major factor in that for both of those receivers.
SPEAKER_00Obviously that. But you look at it and you're expecting them to put up the same volume while also being like a front runner as a team that you put in the state. Are they going to be passing the ball enough?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, if their defense is significantly better, the chances of them being the greatest wide receiver duo ever is not high.
SPEAKER_00Because part of part of them having such a good offense is the fact that your defense was giving up 30 games.
SPEAKER_01Right. And you know, that's probably not going to happen if everything works out for them on the defensive end. So I mean, you probably won't have to throw as much. That being said. Javante Williams will be a little bit more involved, like, just because you should be up at the end.
SPEAKER_00And he's coming off of a like a bounce back year.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%. So he he has a strong year like that. With all that being said, you have a guy in Dak Prescott who could absolutely put up some numbers. He could absolutely throw for 5,000 in a season. Yeah. Like both of those guys could absolutely hit the game.
SPEAKER_00But you're talking about like 70% of your yards damn near at that rate coming from the wide receiver position. Yeah, but I mean you're talking about I mean, the the the duo, I think the duo that's leading was Isaac Bruce and Tory Holt. Elite duo. But man, greatest show on turf. Elite duo. So I mean, it's possible. I don't, I don't, I don't know. I mean, that being said, I don't think we're looking at one of the greatest offenses in NFL history. I do think we are looking at one of the top three to five offenses in the NFL.
SPEAKER_01This season? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, for sure. Yeah, this season for sure. 100%. I mean, they were that last year.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I wouldn't call them. I mean, I I Like where's that, where's that, where's that Broncos team where Peyton threw for like 55 touchdowns?
SPEAKER_00It's up there. Well, that offense was what the the one I was just talking about was just the volume. Probably. I mean, I would expect it. I mean, even if it's not statistically, when I look at the fucking talent of that offense, like when I look at the talents of that offense, yeah, I mean, bro, that offense was lethal.
SPEAKER_01Right. Yeah. No, I mean, that's what I'm I'm asking. Like, I don't think that Dax's not going to throw 55 touchdowns. If he does, if he does, George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb are going to be a top three.
SPEAKER_00They might have 4,000. They might go 2,000. They're going to be competing with each other for the all-time record.
SPEAKER_01It might be one of the greatest wide receiver duos ever.
SPEAKER_00For real. And you and numbers aside, I mean, you know, you could almost make that case now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You could.
SPEAKER_00I mean, bro, like CeeDee Lamb's a Hall of Famer at this pace. George Pickens very well, like, has a Hall of Fame caliber ceiling.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You know what he doesn't have? A Hall of Fame caliber attitude. I like George Pickett. I like I like it. I like it.
SPEAKER_00He's got a UFC Hall of Fame attitude. Uh you think George Pickett's could whoop John Jones?
SPEAKER_01Absolutely not. He's the baddest man on earth. He would be down to shoot him, probably. 100%. That's how you gotta beat him. If you were gonna beat John Jones, you better have a gun.
SPEAKER_00Oh man, that's funny.
SPEAKER_01With multiple rounds.
SPEAKER_00Before we start talking about like the actual little bit of preseason football that we watched, I mean, I'm sure I didn't watch very much at all. I don't know how much you watched. I watched Tyle Simpson. He looked good. But before we get into that, man, let's hit these last couple of injuries. Fucking Jeremiah with a high ankle sprain. Don't love that.
SPEAKER_01Hey, hey, here's an idea. You don't rush him 14 times in a preseason game.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but my God. Yeah, like when he did that little when he I swear, I had to stop myself because I knew Fitz saw it too. When I saw him do that little hezzy spin, I almost sent Genty. I almost sent him Genty for love again. But I feel like he won't do it. And I know why. It's because Genty doesn't have that in his bag. It's just for me, it just like you see that explosiveness, you're not seeing Genty getting shifty like that.
SPEAKER_01I want this to be understood that I'm not saying this. I read this on the internet and I just kind of agree with it.
SPEAKER_00Little bit of AP in there. It did look like he his running style did look very comparable to that. Now, I mean, we're talking about I'm not saying anything. Do it. I mean, if he's got an AP ceiling, then I should probably make that trade.
SPEAKER_01I'm just saying it looked like a little AP in there.
SPEAKER_00But I think I don't know if I was talking to you about it or somebody else, but I was saying that when I was looking at like I was talking about the Genty Love trade. Like, why would I do that? And I was comparing it, and I feel like the thing for me is I feel like when I look at like running backs, and I'm not saying this is who this reminds me of, or I see shades of it. When I look at Jeremiah versus Genty, I can see Jeremiah Love obviously has a much higher receiving ceiling. Like Jeremiah Love, like you compared him to like AP. Like I would compare Genty's playing style more to like Derrick Henry. I mean, he's got a little bit more of a receiving bag, but he's like a stay up from contact, you know, more like bruising capabilities. Like he's not getting shifty. He's not juking you out of your shoes or doing none of that. He's gonna do more like straight line action type of stuff. Right. I think both could be effective. So for that, I mean, yeah, it can obviously both be effective, but I just feel like for fantasy purposes, I like the explosives, the explosiveness more and like the the jumping.
SPEAKER_01You're not gonna like his explosive explosiveness right now. Not at all. He's like out for like the next three to four weeks. I'm gonna miss week one.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna go back and watch some Ginty film just to make sure I don't route I don't remember him being a little more shifty. He's a dog. Because the Derrick Henry running style, like play style comparison could be absolutely false. I should brush back up on it. I just don't recall seeing Ash and Genty getting shifty. Nah, I just I mean, I just remember when I see Genty, he's just getting hit and just staying up and just keep going. I mean, yards, yards after contact balance huge contact balance.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I uh let's see. Abuka, a mecca buka. A mecca buka. Now, this one's significant because they're telling us it's a toe sprain. The entire Twitter sphere thinks it's turf toe. And turf toe is not good. It's way worse for wide receivers. It's way worse. Yeah. It's it and not just it's bad for everybody. So do you know what turf toe is? Yeah, I know what it is. The ligament in between the big toe and the other toe next to the big toe is torn.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I bet that fucking hurts. I bet it fucking hurts.
SPEAKER_00Probably have like fucked. Your balance is probably fucked. Yeah. Did you know that all like not a sports thing at all, but did you know that all of your balance comes from your big toes? Yeah, I mean, it makes sense.
SPEAKER_01It's big as shit. Not really. It's a toe. Shit, my big toe, big as shit. Great balance. Fuck it up.
SPEAKER_00When you play sports, your ankle's big as shit, too.
SPEAKER_01That'll go at the greatest angles. Yeah, so a Mecca Abuka, that could be huge for. They're also saying that he could miss week one. If it's turf, though, it's a big thing.
SPEAKER_00And if it's a linger, and if it and if it's something that like hampers him all season, like that's gonna be a massive loss in Tampa. Like their offense could potentially be terrible.
SPEAKER_01No. Take that back because it's Ted Hurst season. Jalen McMillan, Ted Johnson. Fuck all that. If you if you have Ted Hurst, and if you don't have Ted Hurst, go get him.
SPEAKER_00Go get him.
SPEAKER_01Cat's gonna be a dog. Let me tell you. You've been a Did you end up getting him? I didn't. But you know, you can't you can't you can't catch them all. Oh, unless it's Pokemon. I'd be treating my dynasty team like a Pokemon. You feel like you can get everybody. I I try. I try.
SPEAKER_00People don't like trading with me though. They don't like trading with me either. They'd rather trade with you than me, for sure. Yeah. I sent somebody like four players. I sent somebody four players and like three picks for Justin Jefferson, and he was like, nah, bro, this is actually a great trade, and I would do this if literally any other team in the league sent me this, but I know if I accepted this trade, nobody has a shot to win this league. I don't like that.
SPEAKER_01I hate that. I fucking hate that. First off, it's not true. Like it's just not true.
SPEAKER_00Oh no, bro. Like it's just not true. My unit with Jettas would have went fucking bananas. With last year? When you know. Yeah, yeah. Fuck yeah. I still would have won. If I would have had Jettas last year playing fucking bro, you do realize I was playing Marvin Harrison getting cardio. Every time I played Quentin Johnson, he put up three points or less.
SPEAKER_01That's true. Would it have been better? Yes. But it wouldn't have been that better.
SPEAKER_00I was winning playoff games with fucking Isaac Tesla in my lineup.
SPEAKER_01He had a great catch the other day. Yeah. Well, that's fine. It's still is the drum beat dead on Isaac?
SPEAKER_00I mean, potentially. Like, I don't I mean, I I like him as a player. Like, I mean, it's just in Detroit. His ceiling is his ceiling. I mean, he's never gonna be a big guy. He'll never be a focal point in that offense. I mean, there's a whole lot of dogs over there. I mean, you're talking about you're giving him targets over Laporta. Let's start at the bottom. Laporta. You giving him fuck it. We can go wrong. Are you giving him more targets than Gibbs? No. Are you giving him Gibbs targets? No. You giving him Sam Laporta's? No. You gonna give him J Mo's? No. You gonna give him St. Browns? Fuck no. Like, you know, he might be that guy that pops. Look, he's a he's a good trader together. He's that one guy that pops up. He gets that one like 17-yard touchdown catch in the red zone.
SPEAKER_01He had six of them last year.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but you're right. And you go look at those games. I'll guarantee you he had no more than like two or three catches in all of them. Like, I like the player.
SPEAKER_01I like the player too.
SPEAKER_00Just just, you know, he's just in a horrible spot.
SPEAKER_01He'd be the one on the Raiders. Yeah, buddy.
SPEAKER_00He'd be the one on the Raiders. He'd be fighting for fucking targets with Jalen Neighbors. Let's see.
SPEAKER_01Jalen Naylor. We got we got two more things to discuss. Cam Ward looked pretty pit. Matter of fact, let's just it wasn't just Cam Ward. Yeah, it was everybody. Will Levis came in, looked awful. Mitch Trubisky looked the best of the three.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Which is crazy to say. And then he's what is he's probably done for the year.
SPEAKER_00And I think the most disappointing part of it was the fact that I mean, fuck Will Levis and the second stringers and all of that. The starting roster was going up against second and third string backups. But before you the first drive looked good. Right. But you played the entire half, and after that first drive, everybody looked bad.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I mean, I don't think Tajay or Tony Pollard looked very good. Yeah, I mean they looked decent.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, he did he did. Yeah, I mean, I'm I meant from like a passing. I was most impressed with Femi Oladejo. Yeah, he looks like he had a dog. He was it felt like he was everywhere.
SPEAKER_01I want a preference preference or however preface? Yeah, there we go. I wanna I wanna we don't take stock in preseason. Facts, absolutely not. So it's like I'm not pressing any warning buttons. I don't it doesn't really bother me that he didn't look great. I will say this. I mean, the man, Sala literally came out and said there was no game plan for this game. I just want my players to come out and play loose. Well, I think they played loose.
SPEAKER_00That defense looked real loose. That's a I felt like I could have scored a tutty on him. It's a crazy thing to do. I feel like I think my thing with it is, man, you see the you see Deshaun Striblin just going nuts.
SPEAKER_01He had an elite first half.
SPEAKER_00He didn't even play the whole first half.
SPEAKER_01He had what, six?
SPEAKER_00He played a quarter and a half and had like six catches, 50, 60 yards.
SPEAKER_01He looked good. That cat has the potential to win offensive rookie of the year. I know you don't want to hear that. I know you don't want to hear that. And I don't necessarily know if it's true, but he he will have the volume to do so.
SPEAKER_00Potentially. I mean, if Mike Evans and Christian Kirk the electrical substation is hard at work. They might get him. Might get him. It's possible. Everybody is sacrificed for McCaffrey. Especially if he doesn't get his bag. Oh man. Buddy, he might go back to Germany.
SPEAKER_01I guess we could touch on that real quick. Christian McCaffrey holding in. Allegedly.
SPEAKER_00Or tightness. Who knows? Word on the street is he's tightness is coming from the bank account. It's not actually his calves that are tight. The numbers are getting low. He said, he said, you know, can't help it, man. I'm just white.
SPEAKER_01I said I want that 11th.
SPEAKER_00He said, he said, look, I was getting a check, I was getting the bag, and then you paid two more people more than me, and I was like, you know what? We're not fucking doing this. I'm hurt. Only thing that can remedy this is $26 million a year. Do they pay him that? I mean, I wouldn't. I wouldn't either. I wouldn't, one. I mean, the usage is got to be a good one. You just paid him. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. One you just paid him ago. You just paid him for you. Four years ago. Yeah. And the usage, I mean, it's not sustainable.
SPEAKER_01He's not at 30. He had like 470 opportunities last year.
SPEAKER_00He's not exactly.
SPEAKER_01The year after that, he so he did this, what, three years ago?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And he had like four hundred and something opportunities. And then we're going to get a big thing. And the year after that, he had four games played. And then he collected a bag also before that season. And then he comes out and get paid, and then I'm a rest. He's a chief.
SPEAKER_00I just think if you look at him, like as great as he still is from a production standpoint, man, you can see you can see the burst is gone. I wouldn't say that. Like he's not as fast. Like he's he's not as he's not as explosive as he brought. Did you watch him last year? Like all of that. He was it though.
SPEAKER_01I don't think he had literally the offense.
SPEAKER_00How many 20-yard rushes did Christian McCaffrey have last year? That's a good question.
SPEAKER_01I don't know.
SPEAKER_00It wasn't a lot.
SPEAKER_01But I mean he but he had like he had like a hundred and something. He had like 130 targets. Yeah. But he was a wide receiver and the running back. Like he was the offense. Yeah. It was nuts. You just you can't it's not sustainable. It's not sustainable, especially at 30. Was he 30 or 10?
SPEAKER_00I think he'll be I think he's 29 or 30, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, look, we talked, we've talked about this quite a bit. Like the shelf life of running backs isn't high for that specific reason. Like you get 400 opportunities in a season, you're taking a lot of hits. You're getting smacked quite a bit by large humans every single play. Like it's just not, you can't. If he comes out and he has another 400 opportunities, bro, he averaged 3.9 yards per carry last year. And if that was anybody else, you would say he sucked. Yeah. I mean he only Rashad White number like that's Rashad White numbers. And he does suck. I think he's fucking garbage.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's not.
SPEAKER_01But he, you know, he had 70 catches or whatever the hell how many catches he had.
SPEAKER_00I think he had more than that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, a hundred receptions. It was something crazy. It was a nuts number. I know he had like a hundred and something targets. It was it was crazy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I just I mean, I just feel like his cliff is starting to show up. I mean, obviously, he's still got the value from like a versatility standpoint, but like you look at the injury history, you look at the age, you look at the usage, like, and I'm just if you look at it, he's not as fast as he was. Like, he's not moving the way that he was, you know. Which is almost to be expected. Right. And that's and that's what I'm saying. When you say you asked me if if if he's gonna if you would pay him, no, I wouldn't, because of his age, the injury history, the usage in history, the like the fact that he's probably on the decline from a physical attribute standpoint. Why would I pay him more for Bijan than I would B. John Robinson and Gibbs, who are fucking three, four, five years younger than him.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And are and are probably at this today better.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, at the running back position. For sure. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Not to say, not to say McCaffrey doesn't deserve to get paid. I mean, I don't get me wrong. Like, I would still probably put him at running back three. Like, he's still probably RB three or four. And he's top five minimum.
SPEAKER_01If he if he collects the bag, you know, good for him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we won't be mad about it.
SPEAKER_01We it's deserved. We it is a deserved bag. He deserves to be a double triple platinum member of the BCA. Yeah, I just personally I wouldn't pay him. Me either. I wouldn't pay him either. I would let the fucking Jacksonville Jaguars pay him.
SPEAKER_00They'd have to give me at least a second round pick to pay him, though.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00They would do it.
SPEAKER_01Maybe a first. You'd probably get a first out of them. We uh we have some exciting news. Man, we've been this is this has kind of been in the works for a while now. We planned on this really literally all along. Yeah. So next starting next week, we're going two shows a week. It will be we haven't figured out if it'll come out Wednesday, Friday, or Tuesday, Thursday. We're thinking Tuesday, Thursday. We'll see. To be determined. But yeah, it's pretty exciting. It's it's not because we have this overabundance audience.
SPEAKER_00It's we just gotta work harder.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's just because clearly one episode wasn't moving the needle enough. Why not two? That's right. Fuck it. One of these days we'll be doing it five.
SPEAKER_01Or seven. Who who knows? Or we can determine how much we do it and do it four. That's right. In respect of Jaden Daniels.
SPEAKER_00Can definitely cannot do it five.
SPEAKER_01Not at all. Don't want to get a cease and desist letter from Jaden Daniels.
SPEAKER_00Did you see did you see LSU troll him after that? Yeah. When they pulled up and everybody had a five jersey.
SPEAKER_01This can be what we ended on because his team needs to be fucking fired. And if that's momager. Yeah, if that's his mom that decided to make this cease and like, yeah, let's get the legal team together, send LSU a cease and desist over the number five because Jaden Daniels won the Heisman. Congratulations. And look, that was a great season. And I've been a Jaden Daniels guy from the jump.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. We respect it.
SPEAKER_01Buddy, there is I cannot tell you. First off, this made it impossible to trade the guy in fantasy. So fuck you for this. Okay. I was trying to get rid of Kat. Right, right. Now I'm stuck with him. Whatever. That's fine. I like Jaden Daniels. This is it's a horrible look.
SPEAKER_00And then comparing it to fucking Joe Burrow.
SPEAKER_01It's crazy. I don't even know if that's his team doing that.
SPEAKER_00First of all, you're comparing Jaden Daniels to someone who statistically had probably one of, if not the greatest statistical season in college football from an offensive perspective. It's disgusting to I mean, didn't you? Not only did he win the Heisman, he also won a Natty. And went undefeated. And didn't lose a game. Jaden Daniels won the Heisman, and I was shocked that he won it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_00Because who the f I've he was 10-3.
SPEAKER_01They were a 10-3 football team.
SPEAKER_00They were, well, if you regular season, it was 9-3.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I think they won their bowl game. We're giving them an extra win. Still, what makes you think that you deserve to the have the same treatment as Joe Burrow when you didn't do what he did? And to let it be known that they haven't retired the number nine. Facts. They just said nobody's going to wear it again.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I mean, I don't blame them.
SPEAKER_00I almost feel like this might be a hot take. This might be a hot take. I'm not a fan of retiring numbers in sports. Well, I mean I don't love that.
SPEAKER_01There's two ways to approach it. Like, you know, like Michael Irvin, he he like encourages the number. Like the next, yeah. Like the next sickest cowboys wide.
SPEAKER_00Well, look at soccer. Look at soccer.
SPEAKER_01Ten.
SPEAKER_00Seven.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Or like you have a signature number based off of your role on the team. Yeah, right. Like, I feel like it should be a thing where it's like, for example, LSU, we'll just use that. Joe Burrow's number nine.
SPEAKER_01The next one.
SPEAKER_00If you are a guy that and and this can't, and I won't even say this should expand to like tr people who transfer into the program, even though Joe Burrow did. You should be a homegrown guy that had success and then you you earn the right to wear that number.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna take it a step farther. I don't give a fuck. Like, I don't care. Like, I think it's stupid. Like, I think it's cool, you know, if it's somebody deserves it. Does Joe Burrow deserve to have the number nine retired and hung up in the on the stadium wall? Probably so. Yeah. Does it matter? Fuck no. They retired Shador Sanders number of Colorado. Nobody didn't win shit. Now people are pissed about that. Yeah, well, I mean, probably rightfully so. Number two's a good number, and a guy like him probably shouldn't have got to have him retired.
SPEAKER_00And I'm not saying that I necessarily care. Like it doesn't, I don't give a fuck either, but it's it. I just feel like when it numbers people hold numbers is like very close to them for some reason. Right. Which is cool. I get it. I I don't know. I wasn't an athlete. Jaden Daniels holds the number two. I don't have the yeah. But I mean the Pentagon's talking about adding an extra side. Make it a hexagon. We gotta give high fours now.
SPEAKER_01Dude.
SPEAKER_00Did you see the White House came out and said that they were abolishing the five-day work work?
SPEAKER_01No, the nine to five.
SPEAKER_00No, no, I think it was a five-day work.
SPEAKER_01Oh, even if that's still funny. It's funny because it's in DC. Like the commanders. It's so funny. No, they said they were doing it in solidarity with Jaden Daniels. No, but everybody, all the all the baseball teams, if they score four runs, they're like we stopped at four runs in solidarity with Jaden Daniels. Like nobody's become more of a laughing stock over the stupidest issue ever. I mean, talk about ruining your image. Jaden Daniels was like one of the most likable guys. Man. Like you couldn't help but like the guy.
SPEAKER_00And after that, it's just like been all downhill. I mean, it is now it now. Now it almost seems like he's a very unlikable guy.
SPEAKER_01I know, right? It's sad. It's super sad. Twitter's probably.
SPEAKER_00I think you combine that with the fuckery that his mom does on a regular basis. That shit's weird. But did you see? I thought that there was a report that came out that there was like some, it was an ex-cheerleader at LSU that he was dating.
SPEAKER_01I've seen this.
SPEAKER_00And he said that they were really hitting it off and were having a good relationship and like they ended things because his mom would like pop up on their dates and like tell her, tell him, like, make sure you don't bring her home and all this other shit. Like, ma'am, look, Jaden Daniels' mom. I'm just going to assume that you are a strong, independent, single black mother. She's definitely single. Shout out to you. Let your son live his fucking life. He's an NFL superstar, okay? Let him get some pussy. Let him have a girlfriend. Maybe he wants to trick off some of his money on them.
SPEAKER_01Man, dah, you've seen the video where they were sitting courtside with like Juju Watkins.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and she's like in between them and it's a good thing.
SPEAKER_01It's weird. It's weird.
SPEAKER_00You think Juju Watkins wants Jaden Daniels for his money? She might have a bigger brand than him before the ACL.
SPEAKER_01Dude.
SPEAKER_00Like before the ACL injury, she her brand was bigger than Jaden Daniels.
SPEAKER_01I wish, I wish I would have retweeted this. There was a guy on Twitter that it was a post talking about Jaden Daniels and his mom. And he commented on it. And he said that Jaden Daniels has he's he's evolved into the son husband. Yeah. He's a son husband.
SPEAKER_00I just couldn't believe it. And bro, like, I can't, I just can't fathom like how he like. And apparently he enjoys that. Like she protected me. I put it in. Like, mother, you might be brainwashed.
SPEAKER_01I put Jaden Daniels on our trade block in Dynasty as soon as I saw the picture of him giving his mom a piggyback ride off the field. I was immediately out. Hey, bro, I was like, look, if somebody that loved his mother, like I would have never given my mom a piggyback ride, I'm not gonna lie.
SPEAKER_00Man, me neither. It seems weird. Yeah. It's a little odd. Yeah, it's it's like uh how R. Kelly had a crush on his mom.
SPEAKER_01He also had a crush on kids.
SPEAKER_02Oh.
SPEAKER_01Oof. And he peed on him. Even worse. It's way worse.
SPEAKER_00That was Robert. That was not R. Kelly. R. Kelly just made music. Robert Kelly now. Man. Hey, he's a rough guy.
SPEAKER_01That's all I got, brother. You got anything?
SPEAKER_00That's all I got, man. I'm excited to fucking two days a week. Football is almost back. Like, I'm so ready to actually like it. I think we're four weeks away. Storylines and shit. We're actually going to be able to like show our ball knowledge. BK. I can't wait to sit around and watch fucking ten games every Sunday.
SPEAKER_01A good, you know, a struggling to figure out which one we're gonna watch. Yes. It's disgusting.
SPEAKER_00People are gonna sit in here, some people are gonna be new here, they're gonna be like, you don't know ball. Do you have the NFL Sunday ticket? We will. Do you have do you have the all 22? Do you watch film? We do. So look, I didn't play ball. My college tape game is crazy. I'm gonna I don't watch a lot of college tape because I'm here for prospects. I I I watch the games. I just watch them in real real time, man. I love football. I just love football. I'm here for horses. The stable's getting full. I'm looking for productive NFL players that we would put as tier one at their position.
SPEAKER_01Man, I promise. Well, that's that's it. That's episode 35. As always. Two days a week next week. Yeah, like, subscribe, follow. Follow us on Twitter. We not experts. Everything else is we're not experts. Correct. We not experts for Twitter. We are not experts for everything else.
SPEAKER_00Holler at your boys, man, and as always, we'll see y'all on the next one.
