We're Not Experts
We’re Not Experts is a podcast hosted by two guys who’ve somehow survived 15+ years of friendship and now think that qualifies them to talk into microphones. We’re average early 30’s dudes with very strong opinions and very average credentials—which is exactly the point.
We’re sports ethicists in the loosest sense of the term, breaking down the morals, madness, and mayhem of a wide variety of sports… but let’s be honest: football will absolutely hijack the conversation. We can talk about other sports. We just won’t stop talking about football.
Expect passionate debates, hot takes that cool off immediately, arguments that go nowhere, and the occasional moment of clarity that surprises everyone—including them. Stats may appear. Logic might leave the room. Confidence will always be high.
We’re not analysts. We’re not insiders. We’re definitely not experts.
We’re just two longtime friends talking sports the way most people do—too confidently, for too long, and with absolutely no credentials to back it up.
We’re Not Experts — and neither are you, so you’ll fit right in.

Training camp is in full swing, Zay Flowers sparks a debate after getting paid, more stars cash in, and we're breaking down the biggest headlines, overreactions, and camp hype from around the NFL.
Back in the cave, episode 33. 33. We uh on training camps in full swing. We're like over a week in now, week and a half in. And buddy, news is jumping. People are getting hurt. The timeline is running, son.
SPEAKER_00People are getting hurt. People are getting paid. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Matter of fact, we'll just get straight to it. We got a lot of shit to talk about today. Zay Flowers collected the largest bag of a person that shouldn't collect this large of a bag.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, this this so these type of contracts are what the BCA was intended for. This is just the egregious ones.
SPEAKER_02Zay Flowers is a good player, so I don't know if I would consider it unethical. He's not this good of a player. Brother.
SPEAKER_00Four years, $140 million.
SPEAKER_02A hundred was $108? $108 million guaranteed. $108 million guaranteed. That's nuts. Zay Flowers?
SPEAKER_00How do you like what are your thoughts on this deal?
SPEAKER_02Hold on. Let me speak to Zay Flowers real quick. Zay, buddy, you big paws when I say this. You need to kiss your agent on the cheek. Because you got a guy. You might not be the guy, but your agent is 100% the guy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Very elite agent. He just collected you a bag that you should not have gotten. I've I I've said this once now, and the more that I think I'm gonna say it, the more I'm gonna believe it. Earlier in the offseason, Alec Pierce got paid a boatload of money. And we were like, You were like, I can't believe they would pay Alec Pierce, rightfully so. Yeah, that kind of bread. This dwarfs the Alec Pierce. Well, I don't know. Because we also had an argument. Here's the problem why this is why it dwarfs it. Because Chris Olave also just got paid. We'll throw that little tidbit of news in here, too. Chris Olave also got a large sum of money. I think it was four years, a hundred and something million with like 90 guaranteed, 90 mil guaranteed. I was like, for Chris Olave, this man was a concussion away from death.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. And he and he but and but I think we could both agree win healthy. I think we would both rather have Olave over Zay.
SPEAKER_02100%. Is he a better player than Zay Flowers? By a mile.
SPEAKER_00I mean, he's also, you know.
SPEAKER_02Guess what? Zay Flowers got 18 million more dollars guaranteed than Chris Olave. He's gotta make up that height difference in dollars. Brother, that is spending all my money.
SPEAKER_00I'm I'm seven feet tall.
SPEAKER_02He 100% is. And shout out to him, man. Shout out to Zay Flowers for becoming a member of the BCA. My God. I just can't questionably unethically.
SPEAKER_00It it goes back, and it's just to show like I'm consistent in this. You know, we were talking about quarterbacks being paid and whatnot, and how we you if I'm like the GM of a team, first off, let me preface this by saying I don't give a fuck that the salary cap went up. Like I don't care. That does not matter to me. Right. If I'm the GM of a team and I'm sitting down with an agent, let's just say Zay Flowers for this example, okay? There's just no way I'm saying, all right, man, it's it's time to start con talking extension. All right, yeah, what are you thinking? Oh, you know, we're thinking 40. Surely to God. He's like they didn't come out and say 35 and they're like, deal. Right? So surely to God, one side came in low, one side came in extremely high, they negotiated. I'm not coming in here and he's saying, I'm looking at these wide receiver contracts, and I'm like, hmm. Jamar Chase is at 40. Justin Jefferson, 35. Ethical bags. I look at that and I'm just like, yeah, buddy, where are you getting these numbers from? And they're gonna be like, Well, when I look at this, I look at you know, all of this, and I'm saying, yeah, is your client Justin Jefferson or Jamar Chase? Well, no, he's not quite the okay then why the fuck are you talking about a contract that's anywhere in the ballpark of that? Like the ceiling should be you're not as good as him, we're not paying you like that. He could have got the Alex Pierce contract and I would have been like, fair. He could have got 30 a little bit more than Alec Pierce and I would have been like, okay, cool, at least it's more than Alec Pierce. But when you start putting Zay Flowers in this when you pay somebody this kind of money, he's gotta come in, and I'm sorry, he needs to be Justin Jefferson.
SPEAKER_02He needs, I mean, there's a 1900-yard receiver that just got paid in Jackson Smith and Jigba. What, like two months ago? And you know, he's not as rich as Zay Flowers is. Guaranteed money at least. He's not, yeah. I mean, that's the biggest thing.
SPEAKER_00He gets it off, he gets it all. If he gets it all, he's good.
SPEAKER_02This is this is.
SPEAKER_00But how the fuck does does well no, that's not true because JSN got 120 guaranteed. Yeah, but he's only no he got 69.1 guaranteed. No, that's that's fully guaranteed at signing. He got 120 million guaranteed on the contract. Four years, 168 million.
SPEAKER_02Well, Zay Flowers got 108 guaranteed at signing.
SPEAKER_00I'm talking to Zay Flowers and say, why what makes you think, okay, you're telling me that uh JSN have what, like eight more eight, nine more touchdowns, like seven, eight hundred more yards. We're gonna give you, you know, eighty-five percent of his deal. Have you ever production just doesn't match the contract?
SPEAKER_02Oh man, there's a movie, I can't think of it if it was Bruce Almighty. There's a movie where Morgan Freeman sits down in a chair and he's dressed in all white. Yeah. And he's he's actively playing the role of God in the movie. Yeah, yeah, I know what you're talking about. I've seen it. And and he looks at him and he says, I am God. That's Zay Flowers' agent.
SPEAKER_00Gotta be, bro.
SPEAKER_02I'll say to put this into perspective, to put this amount of guaranteed money for wide receivers into perspective all time, I'm gonna give you the top five. Okay. Alright. Number one, no, matter of fact, I'll start from five. Five on the list, CeeDee Lamb, 67 mil. I think we would both agree he deserves it.
SPEAKER_00Right. Absolutely. Better than Zay Flowers.
SPEAKER_02Number four, Jackson Smith and Jigba, 69.1. I would say we I would I would say that he deserves it. This is just a list from Sleeper.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Number three on the list is Jamar Chase. It's 73.9. Seems fair.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Number two, Justin Jefferson, 88.7. Fair. Seems fair. Yeah. $20 million more than that sits at number one and it's Zay Flowers.
SPEAKER_00Oh my God, bro. He's what, like 5, 10? Puka woke up this morning.
SPEAKER_02Nobody's happier than Puka Nakua right now. And he said, Oh my God, I'm going to be a billionaire.
SPEAKER_00He said, I might beat Micah's record. I mean, if Zay Flowers is getting that kind of deal, I mean, Puka Nakua.
SPEAKER_02He's gonna take the he's gonna take the Los Angeles Rams to the bank.
SPEAKER_00Except the Rams are gonna be like, hold on now, hold your horses. Back up the Brinks truck for Puka Nakua. That's look. And that's a deserving bag, because I think we consider I got one more thing on this topic.
SPEAKER_02I'm not done yet, actually. I'm sorry. I apologize, Zay Flowers. I don't hate you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean we shout out to you for the bag.
SPEAKER_02In the last 20 games, these are Zay Flowers and Justin Jefferson's statistics, okay? And and they're very similar. Okay? Yeah, except one of them has last 20 games. Zay Flowers, 94 receptions. Not bad. For Justin Jefferson, you have a hundred receptions. Okay, six less. That's hey, it's comparable for sure. You're right. Zay Flowers has 1,354 yards in those 20 games. Justin Jefferson has 1,252. You're like, oh shit, Zay Flowers has almost 100 more yards. Yeah. Or over 100 yards. 102 to be exact. You're like, oh shit, Zay Flowers, touchdowns, six. He has six in the last 20 games. That's horrible. You're like, okay, yeah. Justin Jefferson has two. You're like, oh man, he's got four more touchdowns. He deserves this bag. He said he's getting paid what he's worth. His annual salary is $35 million. He should get paid more than Justin Jefferson. Same as Justin Jefferson. Here's the problem. Is the Vikings have me playing quarterback. And Zay Flowers has a two-time MVP playing QB. If if Jetta's had a two-time MVP playing, the man, he's already arguably the best receiver we've ever seen. Yeah. In our generation.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, for sure. Yeah. He's up to the case. Definitely an argument to be had. Definitely an argument to be had, for sure.
SPEAKER_02It just blows my mind.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's what his agent walked in there with that paper that you just that you just read from. That's what he walked in.
SPEAKER_02He said, This is why that agent's a he should go to law school. Man. Become a lawyer. You'll be the guy, the goat of Lloyd.
SPEAKER_00Like being a lawyer. I just, Jesus Christ. I mean, is there look, where do you rank Zay Flowers in receivers? Like, let's just assume everybody's healthy and playing 16 games. Like, where do you put Zay Flowers?
SPEAKER_02Like, in terms of like talent. If we were just so in fantasy football, you do so the way it goes in fantasy football is you know, you got your top five, your top five receivers. Everybody wants your top five receivers. They're all they're the best in the league, right? Right. And it's a it's an interchanging of names, but everybody knows the names.
SPEAKER_00You know, same brown, yeah, chased, poker, you know, JSC.
SPEAKER_02Like all those guys have the they all have the ability to finish it at one. And I'm just comparing this to fantasy football because I feel like it's the best way for me to rank them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02After your top five, you have the rest of your top ten, right? So you have five more players. It's almost similar to the top five. They're a little bit interchangeable.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You kind of know who the guys are.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02He's not in that list. No. He's not in that top 10. Okay. And then you got 10 to 15.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's not there.
SPEAKER_02I don't see him there either. So you know, honestly, like, is he 24th? Maybe.
SPEAKER_00He's so yeah, I mean, he might be like 20. Like, I feel like 20, like 20, 18 to 20, maybe. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Like, I feel like, look, I feel like when you look at it, especially when from a fantasy perspective, of okay, like I feel like, for example, he's not Garrett Wilson.
SPEAKER_02Definitely not talent-wise.
SPEAKER_00No. I mean, Garrett, I mean, even when you look at the situation Garrett Wilson is in in New York, he was still, I mean, last year he was hurt, so we're gonna throw that away. I mean, this man's been a top 10 receiver in fantasy for the past, like the almost the entirety of his career.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but well, here's the the thing is is you you no one's ever said that they don't believe in Garrett Wilson's talent.
SPEAKER_00There's question marks about Zay Flowers.
SPEAKER_02He's talented. He's super shifty.
SPEAKER_00How many teams are you putting him on and say this is your wide receiver one? Not a lot.
SPEAKER_02You're not doing, you're not a lot of.
SPEAKER_00And a lot of things with Zay Flowers is he's the exact opposite of Alec Pierce, where Alec Pierce is only productive when he's 25 yards down the field. Zay Flowers, most of his production's gonna come when he's two yards from the line of score.
SPEAKER_02A lot of it's gonna, yeah, a lot of it's gonna be a lot of yak.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, 100%.
SPEAKER_02He's a you know, he's a five touchdown a year guy. Like that's not impressive. That's not a $140 million guy there. No, I I agree. I you said it before we started that he's probably closer to a Wandell Robinson. Yeah, like I don't think that I don't necessarily think that Wandell's better than Zay Flowers. No.
SPEAKER_00That they're about the same tier for me, as far as I'm thinking about.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like I don't think the gap's huge.
SPEAKER_00No. What do you think? Here's my thing. You fuck Puka Nakua. You know who else is fucking smiling ear to ear right now? George Pickens.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And look, Jerry's come out and said that he wants George Pickens there for the rest of his career.
SPEAKER_00Well, if George Pickens is gonna, if Zay Flowers is getting $35 million, then George Pickens should be 40 to 42.
SPEAKER_02And I'm not, I don't, I don't know if I'd say he's worth 40 to 42, but he's I mean, George Pickens. I feel like George Pickens could is talent-wise, is a top 10 receiver. 100%. He's top 10 in talent, but I mean he's also displayed it last year. Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_00I mean, he it was you can make an argument he was wide receiver one in Dallas with CeeDee Lamb on the other side of the field.
SPEAKER_02You can yeah, like if the Cowboys paid George Pickens, like I'd be like, hold on, CeeDee might be available.
SPEAKER_00No, I wouldn't even do that because they're gonna be great doing. So you're gonna pay them like here's another thing. Like, there are wide receiver twos. It goes to say there are wide receiver twos in the NFL that are better than Zay Flowers. Yeah, George Pickens is definitely better. And T. Higgins. T. Higgins is I would definitely wasn't always hurt, it wouldn't be a question. Yeah. No. T. Higgins, arguably, talent-wise, could be a top ten receiver.
unknownIf T.
SPEAKER_02Higgins could be. If T. Higgins, if you replaced him, like if you swapped him and put T. Higgins on the Ravens and Zay Flowers on the Bengals.
SPEAKER_00He'd have a lot more than four touchdowns, I can tell you that. Six touchdowns.
SPEAKER_02T. Higgins would be a lot better on the Ravens than Zay Flowers would be on the Bengals. Like he's not gonna put T. Higgins numbers. There's a couple reasons why, because like him and Jamar Chase, they're not the same archetype player, but T. Higgins is the big body guy that goes up and gets a lot of balls in the end zone and stuff. I feel like you can do a lot of things.
SPEAKER_00He's just like a gadget guy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_00It's like it's cute. We're gonna run a jet sweep with him. We're gonna fucking do a screen pass with him. And that's fine. Like you're gonna do it.
SPEAKER_02And a little bit of it is talking shit, but at the same time, it's just us saying that he's not worth that. It's not that he's not worth something. Like he's a good receiver in the internet.
SPEAKER_00If he would have got paid 30 mil or 25, 28, I would feel better there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You know.
SPEAKER_00I'll say this. The last thing, and this is the last thing I would say about Zay Flowers, and this isn't even about him. For me, this is a Super Bowl close window closing deal. Could be, potentially.
SPEAKER_02That's just how I feel. I mean, look, it's not like you're gonna be able to do it.
SPEAKER_00Because you're about to guess guess what? You're about to have a turnaround and pay Lamar a bag.
SPEAKER_02You just have to hope, you just have to hope that one of your maybe you do this because you're like, man, maybe we've seen enough of the thing. I just feel like it's a move to the Jacoby Lane and and Elijah Sarat. I mean, you just you have to hope that you've seen enough out of either one of them and you're like, oh, one of those guys is the guy. Like they're both.
SPEAKER_00You're like, you'll pay fucking Zay Flowers $140 million and then draft two receivers early.
SPEAKER_02Yes, I agree. But it gets you a weapon now. Like you have a guy for the next six years, he's there for, you know, Zay Flowers is gonna finish his maybe not finishing his bigger. The best part of his career. Yeah, the best part of his career will be in Baltimore. You know, if if one of those two guys is the guy, then you have two guys for Lamar Jackson, who's got an aging Mark Andrews, Rashad Bateman. I mean, it's hapless outside of Zay Flowers, which was a lot of his which is a big reason for a lot of his production is because it was so bad everywhere else. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02I uh we've dedicated way too much time to do that.
SPEAKER_00I guess the one more thing about that is for the Ravens, it's kind of dumb for me because like that's not the kind of team like you are. Right. Like you paid him as if like you're about to throw him, like he's about to get 150, 160, 170 targets a game, and that's just not or a hundred a season. Like that's not a you're paying him as if you're about to target him 10 to 12 times a game.
SPEAKER_02I mean, you pay somebody wasting your money. Yeah, like you pay somebody that kind of money, you should expect, at least in my opinion, I think in a lot of people's opinion, you should expect you know, you should expect him to get a giant bump in targets.
SPEAKER_00Doesn't necessarily bode well for Derrick Henry fantasy owners. Uh like me.
SPEAKER_02I mean, it just the long term, no.
SPEAKER_00You just feel like some well, fuck that. This year, I mean you start feeling you just feel like some volume's going away from the run game with that.
unknownEh.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I look, Lamar's good enough to where he can make it all work.
SPEAKER_00That is true.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah. He can do that. We've dedicated way too much time to this extra.
SPEAKER_00Moving on. Let's talk about somebody who deserved the bag they got.
SPEAKER_02Yes, the player deserves the bag. Bill Belichick is just rolling over in his proverbial grave at B.
SPEAKER_00Shout out, Bichon. Look, three years, $25 million a year, roughly. Well, up to $75 million. I think the it works out like the guarantees work out to be like $22.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, between eight or nine million dollars in like incentives or something that he gives.
SPEAKER_00Shout out to Bichon for setting the new mark for running backs, my boy.
SPEAKER_02This is a guy.
SPEAKER_00Fantasy champion.
SPEAKER_02Okay. That's fair. This is a guy who absolutely deserves the cheddar that he is doing.
SPEAKER_00This is a guy who deserves the contract Zay Flowers got.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Zay Flowers is actually going to make 10 million more a year.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Bijan. Here's what the craziest. This is the fucked up part about being a running back, especially on a short deal. I would look at if I'm Bichan Robinson, I'm walking in and saying, hold on, I had like four less catches than Zay Flowers last year, and I had 300 carries, and I had like fucking 2,500 yards, and I'm making $10 million less than Zay Flowers.
SPEAKER_02It uh a lot of people, I don't know. Like, look, it this isn't a We're just dumping on Zay Flowers. I know. Zay, don't hear what we're not saying.
SPEAKER_00We fuck with you, brother.
unknownB.
SPEAKER_00John Robinson's arguably the best running back in the game.
SPEAKER_02100%. And you know, if like the monstars came down and were like, we need your 22 best players, like that's probably the running back I would pull out to play the monstars in football.
SPEAKER_00For sure.
SPEAKER_02I just I just don't know. I don't know if like the they're so far away. And they got even far like the Falcons got farther away today from being an even competitive football team. Man, and just it's just like as good as Bijan is, and he is like he is that good This isn't a winning move.
SPEAKER_00Like it's it yeah for the franchise, in my opinion. Man, running the football has become way more important in the last couple of seasons. As in my opinion, as it should. Like for me, I feel like, especially considering the the amount of work that he does in the receiving game, like should have gotten, arguably have gotten more. I also think that the Falcons have potential, which you know, the Jalen Walker news like takes it down. But like I think the I think the Falcons are gonna be better than what you think they're gonna be.
SPEAKER_01With who?
SPEAKER_00Well, they made some additions on defense. I don't care. They added two.
SPEAKER_02They lost their two of I'm about to say something. I'm about to say something. I don't know if it's 100% true because James Pierce Jr. might be back. But they lost their starting defensive end today, Jalen Walker to a torn ACL. That is a massive. That is a massive, that is a massive blow.
SPEAKER_00That is a massive blow. Yeah. But I'm also putting a significant amount of stock in the upgrade at coach. Because Kevin Stefanski is a guy. He's a good coach. I uh you're not the only one that holds this opinion. So, like, I'm now not once again, like I don't sit, I'm not sitting here saying that this is gonna be a team that's gonna be great by any means. Like, I think that they can win. The NFC South. Right. Especially with Baker pissed off. He might tank the season.
SPEAKER_02That is a situation.
SPEAKER_00Like he might ball out and then throw just like a game losing pick just to piss off, just to fuck the Falcons. But then that'd put them in a better position to get a new quarterback.
SPEAKER_02So probably not. Right. I uh that's an interesting situation going on there in Tanger. We'll hit on that here in a little bit. Uh I mean, yeah, like I like Kevin Stefansky. I don't love Tua. I hate Michael Penix. Yeah, but you like Drake London. I do, I do like Drake London.
SPEAKER_00Kyle Pitts had a career year.
SPEAKER_02I don't like Kyle Pitts.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't love him either, but he's coming off a career year. He's athletic. And Stefanski's also done good work with tight ends in Cleveland with Njoku. That's true too. Yeah, no, that's good. So you like that. They run the ball. You've got an al- you've got arguably the best running back in the game. Their offensive line's still good. They just re-signed a what a GAR to a large back. So their offensive line, they have a good offensive line. All of the pieces seem to be like The offense should be decent. The defense. The defense could still be okay. Like it's still like all hope's not lost. It is a rookie. We're not talking about Miles Garrett getting hurt now. He was we're not talking about Michael Parsons. He was good, but he wasn't.
SPEAKER_02It just depends on if his the other side's gonna be okay. Right.
SPEAKER_00If they can get the other side to play. He's playing for his freedom. You know he's gonna have a massive year. If he plays. I mean, here's the thing. You're talking about how huge the Jalen Walker thing is. I mean, James Pierce Jr. was better than him. 100%.
SPEAKER_02Statistically, at least.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you're talking about runner-up to defensive rookie of the year, so a lot of people seem to think that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, I I don't disagree with that. I'm just saying, like, it's a massive loss. And it's an even more massive loss if James Pierce Jr. doesn't play which he shouldn't.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Maybe I'm just putting a little stock. Maybe I'm just putting a little stock into it. I'm just a I'm just a Bijan fantasy owner. And you should like you should be happy. Part of part of them, I want to see them be successful because, you know, if they're successful, that means my guy's been balling.
SPEAKER_02Look, it part of the this is also part of the problem, is like the Falcons are on the fringe of a poverty franchise.
SPEAKER_00And being like a like a like a like a like a team that's gonna be competitive for the next 10 years at the same time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I just you know what this it just a quarterback away, dog. Yeah, that's 100% true, actually. They are a quarterback away.
SPEAKER_00That's it. That's all they and they've been there for how long? And I'm just I'm still. You're telling me you're giving me fucking Desmond Ritter and Taylor Honekey and Well look, Tua's better than they are.
SPEAKER_02I don't know, but like this is gonna this is a hot take, and I don't mean it to be. If I was the Atlanta Falcons, I don't fucking like I know what Tua is.
SPEAKER_00Right. But you're paying him nothing.
SPEAKER_02You're paying him nothing, so technically you're getting a free year, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I'm not paying him after.
SPEAKER_00Right. Oh yeah, for sure. Well, I mean, if it go if it goes well, you would almost have to pay him though. I wouldn't. Like if he comes back and he's a you know, let's just say he looks like the Tua of old before he had 15,000 concussions and the talks bad about his team and press conferences and all that shit.
SPEAKER_02Showed up late to meetings.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like all of the things. I feel like part of Tua's downfall towards the end of Miami. One was the injuries, yes, but like I just feel like there was some starting to be like friction inside. Like, you know, sometimes you just need a change. Like when Ron Tannehill, he I mean, he wasn't great in Miami. Fucking go get a new start in Tennessee and he's right here.
SPEAKER_02Tannehill's not left-handed. Okay. That's fair.
SPEAKER_00That's fair. I don't I don't like left-handed quarterbacks.
SPEAKER_02I don't he just like it seems like every time he throws the ball, it's like a little lob pass. Yeah. He's got no oomph behind it. But you know, it's not like Will Levis.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Who's better? Look, who's better?
SPEAKER_02Who? Between two and two?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, come on.
SPEAKER_02So this is what I was gonna say. If I'm the Atlanta Falcons, I saw Will Levis's press conference, he told me there's not 32 quarterbacks better than he is. So, with that being said, let's find out. We're in a situation where we could find out, and it's probably not gonna cost us a lot. Probably a seventh. Yeah. Yeah. I'm probably if I'm the Falcons and you, you know, like you're paying Bijan and you pay Drake London.
SPEAKER_00You saw Will Levis, you saw Levit Will Levis have like a He had some glimpses. I mean, his his little stretch that he played as a rookie was much better than what he played under Brian Callahan. So, like, fuck it, let's just throw that tape out the window. I don't even know who that guy is.
SPEAKER_02And you're getting a competent coach.
SPEAKER_00If I'm the Falcons, Will Levis could certainly be utilized well. He's got a cannon. Yeah, he can get that ball downfield to your big body who's great down the field. Yeah. You got a great check down in Bichon. You got Kyle Pitts, he's an athletic freak. You just drafted, was it, Zachariah Branch? Good gadget guy.
SPEAKER_02You know, he'll be saying, people are saying that they like him there. They're saying that he's probably gonna be the number two. And they still have Darnell Mooney? No. He's a giant. That is true. I remember that now. I remember that as soon as I said it. You know, so I mean, hey, look, if I'm the if I'm the Falcons, I'm making a phone call. You know Tua's not the guy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You know it. And it ain't like Will Levis is gonna cost you a ton. Yeah. In pay, in finances, or draft capital, like trade capital. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's what I would do if I'm the Falcons.
SPEAKER_00You can say that for a lot of teams, though. You can say that for the Jets. You can say that for the Cardinals.
SPEAKER_02No, they got Gino.
SPEAKER_00Speaking of the Cardinals, did you see that my boy Carson Beck named the starter for the Hall of Fame game?
SPEAKER_02Is he the first player in like football history to end a college football season playing and then begin the NFL season? I don't know. I don't know if that's true. I saw that on Twitter earlier. They didn't say it. They were just asking the question.
SPEAKER_00He did end it. He did end it with that pick.
SPEAKER_02This is also true.
SPEAKER_00He did end the national championship. He did end the college football season.
SPEAKER_02I've seen some tape. I've seen some tape did the sloth, brother. It looks good. He's throwing some dots out there. Now, with that being said, he's going against the Cardinals defense, so let's not put too much stock into it.
SPEAKER_00Have you seen what this Cardinals defense has been doing to Jeremiah Love in training camp? No. Buddy, they said he's getting the Ash and Genty 2025 treatment.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but is that because of the Cardinals defense, or is that because of the Cardinals' offensive line? It's probably a line.
SPEAKER_00I like. Hold on.
SPEAKER_02So look, you're talking about guys on that Cardinals defense. Walter Nolan. Buda Baker. Buda Baker. Still balling. Will Johnson? Guy. Yeah, there's a couple guys.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they all they've done a lot to address the defensive side of the ball. Like last year, they went draft defense every day.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they didn't draft a single offensive player. That didn't work. Needed it. That was a play.
SPEAKER_00Speaking of more, speaking of the Cardinals, people are starting to say that uh Marv might be a generational bust.
SPEAKER_02No, dude. Marv's back.
SPEAKER_00Have you not seen the tape? Well, the last thing I saw about Marv, I did see him on one of the plays that Carson Beck dropped him a dot. I did see that.
SPEAKER_02Dude, ever since that, ever since that drop went viral, my boy's been bottling camp. They've been doctored in it up. Marv's back. Son.
SPEAKER_00Look, bro, I I don't know why. I'm dying on the hill that Marv is gonna be sick as fuck still. I hope so. I'm a Marv fan.
SPEAKER_02I want to see it work.
SPEAKER_00He just looks like a Dragon Ball Z character.
SPEAKER_02Mr. Popo. We've spent entirely too much time talking about people getting money.
SPEAKER_00Alright, well, let's talk about some other shit then.
SPEAKER_02What you the reports, and I know for a fact neither one of us are surprised about this. The reports coming out of the Giants camp is that the the offense has looked disjointed, was the quote.
SPEAKER_00Huh? I mean Arbaugh did say he was standing in front of the New York Giants.
SPEAKER_02Did you expect this with Matt Nagy?
SPEAKER_00I I mean I feel like disjointed might be like a be a positive. Do you from what I saw? Well, I've seen Matt Nagy offenses for for quite some time, and I'd say disjointed isn't the word I would describe him.
SPEAKER_02I uh that guy was almost the head coach of the Tennessee Titans. Bro, the fact that he got interviewed is crazy. He didn't just get interviewed, he was like in the like he was a finalist. Fucking insane. And he's gonna sit over here and he's gonna take two guys that should be three guys that should be great for fantasy football.
SPEAKER_00Jackson Dart neighbors and Scat.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. He's gonna take these three guys and he is gonna fuck it all up. He's gonna throw it in the gutter.
SPEAKER_00They're saying, hey, look, so I'm not a big Jackson Dart guy or Scatabow. I like Malik neighbors. I don't think look, I don't think that Jackson Dart's gonna be great by any means. I don't think he's gonna be like terrible. But like I feel like I feel like we're not gonna see much out of Scat. Like I feel like we're not gonna be what what you're expecting. Like I feel like you're expecting Scat to have a big year.
SPEAKER_02For sure, yeah. Well, I mean look, they're saying that's gonna be like an 800-yard guy. They're saying that he's getting all the like, you know. They'll say he's definitely gonna be first and second down back. They said that they'll be alternating with Tracy and Devin Singletary in third downs. Like, I don't love that because like his whole calling coming out of hyper. College was his receiving abilities. Yeah. Yeah. So I mean, but I mean, look, he's a good runner too. Yeah, he just runs hard for three yards. It's a fucking hard three yards he goes and gets though. And then he's gonna get up and be like, ah, yeah. I mean, look, there's something to that.
SPEAKER_00Like that type of energy does something for yeah, it just feels like he's 2026's Peyton Hillis.
SPEAKER_02He's gonna have a he's gonna have an electric three-year run. Peyton Hillis ran for like 1,300 yards the year he was on the road. Oh, bro, he was a dog for a few years. And then he just fell, and then he just disappeared.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02They're like, oh wait, white running back. We've talked, oh I didn't say anything about here's what I'll say about Matt Nagy. I've said from the jump that this was a bad hire. I will not be surprised at all if this falls on its face. Yeah. I will be extremely sad about it. I'll feel bad for Jim Harbaugh. I don't. He could have chosen Cliff Kingsbury. That is true. He did change. He could have. I'm pretty sure he did for like a day.
SPEAKER_03He's like, eh, who thought about it?
SPEAKER_02I guess it was gonna be Monkin until he took the which I mean look, if it would have been Todd Monkin, we'd have been we'd be happy campers. Yeah. We'd be. I mean, he'd ran successful offenses in the NFL. I don't know if Matt Naggies ever ran a successful offense in the NFL.
SPEAKER_00No, that one that one that early come up in Kansas City.
SPEAKER_02No, fuck that. It was the one year that the no.
SPEAKER_00Was he the who was he the pretty sure he he was the OC before being me?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_00He went from being OC to head coach of the Bears.
SPEAKER_02The year that he the year that the Bears made the playoffs.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was I'm pretty sure that was the first year that he was there. When they had Trubisky and they had the double doing. Was that that year?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm pretty sure the offense might have been decent that year.
SPEAKER_00I thought that was that year. Didn't they trade for like Khalil Mack?
SPEAKER_02Probably. Either way, even if it was a great offensive year for them, which it couldn't have been that good because the Bears have never had a quarterback throw for 4,000 yards before. So it's not like it was incredible.
SPEAKER_00They're gonna have a guy do it again this year.
SPEAKER_02MVP. Well, he'll be the first one.
SPEAKER_00I thought he did it last year.
SPEAKER_02No, he came up with the last one. No, he did it. Yeah, you're right. Like not even like it was like two, three hundred yards, maybe something like that.
SPEAKER_00Something like that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so I mean, we've never seen Matt Naggy do it in the NFL, and if he has, it was a one-year mirage.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And the fact that this guy continues to get job opportunities fucking blows up. The Good Boy Club.
SPEAKER_00Well, what is he doing behind the scenes to keep a job? Is he gonna climb under the desk? Is that what he's doing? Is he getting under the desk?
SPEAKER_02You uh you want to talk about something that we've we talked about before, and it's something that I mean some would have called us conspiracy theorists.
SPEAKER_00Video evidence has come out.
SPEAKER_02The electrical substation. It's very large. Yes, one, it's very large. I'm sure everybody's seen the photos by now. It's got its own, you know, it's got its own Twitter page now. The 49ers, the 49ers said something about, you know, George Kittle grinding to get back for week one, and the like the electrical substation tweeted him and said, We'll see. That's literally the tweet. It was funny.
SPEAKER_00It's also it's it's also something of note that the 49ers are being absolutely devastated by injuries in training camp.
SPEAKER_02Dude, it's it's it's insane.
SPEAKER_00We got a couple hammies. It's like 10 people. Yeah. Yeah. Mike Evans is already cooking.
SPEAKER_02Their entire wide receiver core dead. Already. They're all dead.
SPEAKER_00You got Fred Warner out here. They brought Debo.
SPEAKER_02Here's some news for you. They brought Debo Samuel back. Nobody gave a fuck until everybody else died.
SPEAKER_00Hey, bro, he looks so fat.
SPEAKER_02Dude, shout out to Debo Samuel because he knew. He's like, I've been there and done this, bro. Like, everyone's gonna die.
SPEAKER_00Man, I'm gonna be the guy again. Except for one person. Who? They're sacrificing for McCaffrey again. They're getting it early. They said we're gonna get started early because he's off a very high usage year. We gotta, we gotta we're hitting them early and we're hitting them often.
SPEAKER_02I did see some photos of Christian McCaffrey with the shirt off paws. No homo. Looks jacked. He looks to be in incredible shape.
SPEAKER_00But he's gonna need it. They have him practicing at the stadium.
SPEAKER_02He 100% needs it because it looks like he's gonna lead them in red zone targets again, probably. Bro, it you know, it's kind of crazy, but if he stays healthy, he's gonna be the number one player in fantasy. Yeah, well, he's gonna be up there for sure. He will it's just it's unstoppable. It's you cannot stop it when he's the only thing they have. And Kyle Shanahan's so good at drawing up specific plays.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I mean, you just know that uh you just you just know that he's gonna have to shoulder the shoulder the load this year.
SPEAKER_02I I don't really, you know, I at this point the 49ers should probably just, you know, because so they did an investigation. We talked about this.
SPEAKER_00Said they found nothing.
SPEAKER_02They they found nothing. You know, John Lynch, he's like, I'm a stand-up guy, I'm gonna tell you the truth. Yeah, I think you're lying. And even if you're not lying, guess what? This is a bad look. Yeah, it's it's become such a joke that they made a Twitter account called Electrical Substation.
SPEAKER_00Bro, the thing, I don't know what I was expecting this substation to look like, but when you saw the videos of it in the background, I was like, oh my god, did they build the practice facility in the middle of the substation? Like, bro, this thing is Yeah, it's not small. No, no, obviously not, but like, dude, why would we even want to take a chance?
SPEAKER_01Why are we taking a lot of electricity?
SPEAKER_00Why are we even taking why whose idea was it to build anything? They said that's like the NFL equivalent of Chernobyl, bro.
SPEAKER_02They said Christian McCaffrey's wearing grounding shoes.
SPEAKER_00You know one thing, this is this is not related to this at all. I just thought about it because it's gonna lead me into the one of the last things I want to talk about. I was a big Carnell Tate fan. I still I still am a fan. I still think he's gonna have a big year. Not as big of a fan of him as I was. Brother, he rocks the guardian cap. Is he gonna wear it all season?
SPEAKER_02I hope not. You saw Jalen Petrie just became.
SPEAKER_00Is a is a guardian cap at signature athlete.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. He loves the guardian cap. Hey, I mean, I don't necessarily have a conflict of interest. I don't know if there's any data to show that it actually works.
SPEAKER_00I mean, Tajay Spears still's always hurt. He loves his yeah, but at least it's not it's not from concussion. Romeo Dobbs.
SPEAKER_02Hey, he's the poster child.
SPEAKER_00His looks abnormally large. Like he's got two of them on there. The poster child. I uh did you see uh well, I was talking about the Titans. I I saw that and I was thinking about the uh do you see uh Big Jeff and JC Latham getting into it today?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, got into a fist fight.
SPEAKER_00Man, yeah, I like it. Big Jeff is not a guy I want to throw bangers with.
SPEAKER_02JC Latham's also a rather large human. Yeah, but when you have two big guys like that, you just, you know, you hope it's a good fight. I'm sure it was. I uh me personally, I'm a big fan of that type of I I like that. I want to see that kind of fight.
SPEAKER_00I'd rather you crash out fighting your teammate in training camp at practice than like crashing out on your girlfriend and getting a DV charge.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, look, joint practices are gonna be electric, and they are every year. There's always a bunch of fights. Big Jeff is he's always a dog. Not to be fucked with. Yeah, like and it happens every year. Come joint practices and stuff. That should be a lot of fun. I I like that JC Latham's bringing that type of energy up.
SPEAKER_00Bro, if they have like a training camp that's like open to the public on a weekend, you want to like go hang out and watch that? No, maybe try to get an interview.
SPEAKER_02That'd be cool. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Alright, I'm gonna look at the schedule.
SPEAKER_02Devon A-chan said that he's going for the rushing title this year. Any thoughts? Buddy. He's gonna have to have a do you think Devon A-chan gets the rushing title? Fuck no. Okay. Fuck no. That answers that question. Absolutely fucking not.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely fucking not. Look, Devon A-chan is sick as fuck. Right, he's sick as fuck. He is very nice. At this point, he's probably about one of five players on the Dolphins team that I can actually like know who they are.
SPEAKER_02But that's fair.
SPEAKER_00Their team's gonna be so bad. It's gonna be impossible for him to get the rushing record unless he goes off for like a buck fifty in the first half every game. Because I'm expecting them to be down 14 minimum half every week.
SPEAKER_02Here's another question for you. Dolphins over under on wins is four and a half. Buddy, I would take the under at two and a half. You guys heard that here first. Let's go put that in, brother. Under.
SPEAKER_00I would I feel like the bet that I want to touch on the Dolphins is are they gonna go winless? Because you know it's ridiculous because it's the NFL. So you expect him to get one, but you know the odds on that are gonna be like plus ten thousand. I'd rather have a flyer in on that because that's the one of the worst rosters I've ever seen. Spring a little five dollars. Yeah, yeah. Five dollars for five five grand. That like I'm gonna check that because that's gotta be a bet. And if it is, I'm taking it.
SPEAKER_02I uh well look, I shout out to Devon H. And a couple reasons. He also got five. He collected a bag. He did get paid. So I guess it would like in terms of like giving your star players the workload because you've paid them, it makes sense. There's a couple issues I have with it. One, their offensive line is probably gonna be one of the worst in the NFL. Absolutely. Even though I mean they drafted a couple guys that are large humans, maybe they're good. I I know they got Caden Proctor. I'm pretty sure I saw a report that said he had a long way to go, though. Whatever. Like, hopeful, hopefully those work out for him, because if they do, he has a much better chance at it. But more than just that, he is the tiny guy. Yeah. Like he's small. He's gonna have to get a like you're talking about. You're gonna need to get the rushing title, especially this year. I mean, I I think Jameer Gibbs is probably gonna be going nuclear.
SPEAKER_00Jameer Gibbs is gonna have a big year.
SPEAKER_02Unless he doesn't get paid before the season starts. Bijan's gonna be in the conversation. Jonathan Taylor's probably gonna be in the conversation.
SPEAKER_00He's in line for an extension too. JT is this year. He's in the going in the last year, his dual.
SPEAKER_02So, I mean, you know, the world where he wins rushing title, it has to be a perfect world.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, typically you have to be good. He is you have to be good enough as a team to be running the ball enough to have you carry that leak.
SPEAKER_02Malik Willis is out there. Camp throwing piss missiles to Greg Dorch. He's got a great arm. Throwing it to Greg Dorch. Malik Willis has a great arm. Wide receiver one, Greg Dorch.
SPEAKER_00Nah, but that's Malik Washington. Someone told me that that's Malik Washington.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, look, technically, yes. Nah, Chris Bell.
SPEAKER_00Chris Bell when he comes back from ACL.
SPEAKER_02I don't know how you feel about Chris Bell. I like him. Yeah, I was about to say. Look, his tape was nice. Yeah, he's sick. He was great at Louisville. He and I mean look, he was getting first round buzz before the before the the ACL. So I mean, look, they might actually have a guy in Chris Bell. Yeah. It's just gonna be a while. Right. Like it'll be a while. So for now, it's Malik Washington and Jalen Naylor. Or Jalen Tolbert. Yeah. Sorry, not Jalen Naylor, but yeah, Jalen Tolbert. That's gross. Those are your one and two. Who and who would be excited about that? So, like I said, it's Greg Dorch. It's Greg Dortch running wide receiver one in the tight end slot. There's a couple things I want to get to before we're done. I read a report that Sonny Style is as advertised. He's sick. They're saying that he looks like the guy.
SPEAKER_00It's gonna be. I mean, I still wouldn't have drafted him that high.
SPEAKER_02Just this was this was the reason why I brought it up. Is like if he ends up being the guy, and you know, like he's anchoring the middle of their defense for the next 10 years, it was worth it, right? Right. Right. Should make that defense a lot better. 100%. I mean, look, that's a I mean, that's a green dot guy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's a guy that should be able to command the defense, he should be able to do it all. He's a dog. I saw some video of him, and he definitely looked the part. Sean Payton talked about how he was gonna use Jalen Waddle. And I mean, it was glowing if you're a Jalen Waddle fantasy football owner.
SPEAKER_00Look. Before you get into this and say this, I was a big Jalen Waddell guy. Look, Jalen. The talents I didn't know. I like Jalen Waddle. I wish Tyreek Hill would have never gone to Miami.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it probably ruined him in Miami at least. But I mean, probably helped him out a little bit as well. I mean, took some of the pressure off of him. He will be the guy in Denver. I especially from the comments.
SPEAKER_00Until the playoffs, when it's secret weapon, Marvin Mims.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they keep him on the back burner. They don't want people to.
SPEAKER_00They don't have no film on this guy. Watch what we do with him. We're gonna sneak him on the field.
SPEAKER_02Buddy, go run a go route.
SPEAKER_0060 yard bomb to Marvin Mims.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I mean, we say that. Like we say that jokingly, but I mean Bo Nicks threw the ball more downfield than any other quarterback in the NFL. Yeah. He also had the most passing, like he also had the most passing attempts last year. I see no reason that if Sean Payton is telling the truth, which you never know with Sean Payton.
SPEAKER_00This is the man that told you that the steady.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he did. He was, you know, he's better than most starting quarterbacks. He's not better.
SPEAKER_00Sean Payton is a is a dirtbag.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he is definitely a dirtbag. But so I mean, look, Jalen Waddle, you are, you know, do you expect a big year?
SPEAKER_00I'm kinda. I mean, I don't love Bo Nicks. What is a big year? Probably, I mean, at this point, it feels like maybe 1,100 yards for him. That's a Cortland Sutton year. I'm thinking, you know what I'm saying. I don't expect Jalen Waddle to be some 1,500 yard guy if that's what you're saying. I mean, I could see anywhere between like 11 to 1300 rays.
SPEAKER_02You don't see Jalen Waddle and don't hear what I'm not saying. You don't see like Michael Thomas type role.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_02He can do those. I mean he could. He could, but I don't know if he's as an elite slant route artist. Dude, that was the best slant runner in the world. But I mean, he can absolutely run short routes, you know, medium routes. He's, you know, he can obviously get a go ball going, like he's fast as fuck. I uh I, you know, I'm thinking, I'm gonna tell you what I'm thinking, and I don't want you to lose your mind on this. But I if these comments are true and I'm buying in, I'm buying the stock for a couple reasons.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02I picked the Broncos to win that division.
SPEAKER_00Right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I can't back off that now. So I just have to find the I just have to find the gold nuggets.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And the gold nugget for me is that Jalen Waddle's gonna be 1,310 with 102 receptions.
SPEAKER_00Fuck. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I could see it. I absolutely can see a world where he receives 150 plus targets.
SPEAKER_00Why why do you see it say that though? Because well, I'm not that saying that I don't think that he can't. I just don't like at least in Denver, at least in Denver, they haven't done that. So here's the argument.
SPEAKER_02Let me let me let me let me make this pitch to you. I don't I'm not saying I necessarily believe it, but I could see it. The pitch is is Bo Nicks threw the ball more than anybody else in the NFL last year. He wasn't great.
SPEAKER_00It didn't correlate to like having the most yards in the NFL.
SPEAKER_02No, it didn't. And the problem is, some people think that the problem is that he didn't have the weapons to he didn't have the not the not only the weapons, but he didn't have the personnel necessary to throw as many deep balls as well.
SPEAKER_00Man, bro. Yeah, Troy Franklin. A lot of people were telling me all this people like Troy Frank Franklin. Hey, I like Troy Franklin still, but people I don't I don't like that because people are telling me, oh, Pat Bryant. We just love him, we just love Pat Bryant, we just love Marvin Mims, we just love Troy Franklin, we just love all these guys. Yeah, but do you say Sunday and we don't love them at all?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I get what you're saying. But do you part of that is just because that's who was on the roster.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Look, I did like Troy Franklin.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Personally. I thought Troy Franklin was gonna be a guy. And, you know, catchy, he's got a catchy theme song. But now they, in my opinion, he's got a catchy theme song. They have a guy. Jalen Waddle. And so I mean, we'll see. Like why would you not, if I don't see like he should, like they should target him that much.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, historically speaking, in New Orleans, it seems like they did always have a guy like that where it was just like far more targeted, far more heavily used. Jalen Waddle kind of fits that mold as far as like a talent perspective. Like, I think Jalen Waddle is a better receiver than Michael Thomas. Like, I think that he was better than Marcus Colston. The talent perspective.
SPEAKER_02The real problem with Jalen Waddle is health. Yeah. He just can't stay healthy.
SPEAKER_00Right. Can't stay on the feet. And obviously that's gonna hinder it, but like part of me feels like, okay, if we want to like make sure that he's healthy, maybe we shouldn't just like, you know, overutilize him, I guess, in a way.
SPEAKER_02Man. Shout out to the Denver Broncos because they're gonna win that division.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, man. Look, you've been giving your little victory lap for Daniel Jones coming back. My boy's gonna be my boy personal.
SPEAKER_02Did you see what Michael Pittman Jr. said?
SPEAKER_00No, it's funny. I was actually reading that now, but I'm gonna let you just go ahead and say it.
SPEAKER_02I don't remember it word for word. So if you have it word for word in front of you, I would prefer you read it.
SPEAKER_00I don't have it, but I can pull it up real quick.
SPEAKER_02It's glowing. I mean, it was something to the effect.
SPEAKER_00I hate when people do you it makes it believable that he doesn't play there anymore.
SPEAKER_02He was like, Daniel Jones is the toughest guy. He's like he's the toughest guy he's ever seen, or something like that.
SPEAKER_00You know, toughness doesn't equal good. Okay, you can be tough. Okay? This is good.
SPEAKER_02This is look, Daniel Jones, is he great? Probably not. Accurate. I mean, right.
SPEAKER_00That was one of the things that he said.
SPEAKER_02Here's why it's gonna work. Cause, you know, whether you agree with this or not, Shane Steichen's one of these guys that draws up plays for certain players. Did you know that Daniel Jones threw to his first read more than any other quarterback in the NFL? Do you know what that number was?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_0277% of the time it was on the first read. That's not good. It's not great. No, it's terrible. Here's here's the catch. Is Shane Steichen designs plays specifically for this?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's fair.
SPEAKER_02So when you have a guy that can design the offense around a guy that can at least get it to the first read accurately, like Daniel Jones has proven that he can do, I see no reason why it shouldn't work.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but there's a but but see, and the problem with that is is I feel like it gets things misconstrued. Like it feels like it's one of those things where it's like, okay, Daniel Jones is good enough to make us a competitive football team, right? A playoff team. There'll be a playoff, they'll be in the playoff conversation. But is that what we're shooting for? Right? Like the goal is not to be a playoff team or win eight, nine, ten games every year, consistently be competitive. Like while I don't disagree with you. And we've also, and here's the thing, that's the only ceiling that we have seen from Daniel Jones. We've seen his four be the worst team in the NFL.
SPEAKER_02He tripped over uh he tripped over. No, dude, that that line was standing up out of the ground. That yard line picked him up.
SPEAKER_00You got it. But and that's what my issue with it is, is it's not that like when I think about Daniel Jones, like when I look at other quarterbacks that I feel like you would put on his tier is like, oh, he's a good quarterback. Having him at quarterback, if your standpoint is saying that he makes you a playoff team, I don't think he's anywhere close to that. But like if you put him on that tier, that's not good enough for a quarterback. For me, if I want to go and actually win a Super Bowl, and it is and even in even the teams that you see have that success, like for the Eagles, for example, with Jalen Hurts, some could say that they look at Daniel Jones and Jalen Hurts as the same type of quarterback from a talent perspective. Just saying, like playing the quarterback position, right? Just throwing the football, etc.
SPEAKER_02Don't ever put those two.
SPEAKER_00Because what my point is, as I'm saying with this, is for teams for quarterbacks like that that aren't one of the ones that are going to will their team to be competitive, like Patrick Mahomes does, like Josh Allen does, like Joe Burrow does, like Lamar Jackson does, you have to have the talent around him everywhere else. Like the Eagles. If you took the Eagles and you drop, if you took if you took Daniel Jones and you put him on the Eagles where Jalen Hurts was, and you take Jalen Hurts and you put him on the Colts, like neither of those teams, to me, in my opinion, are any different.
SPEAKER_02First off, like I if if you tell them Jalen Hurts slander is fucking nuts.
SPEAKER_00What do you we just sat here and had a conversation a week or two ago saying that yeah, Jalen Hurts is definitely a he's in the 16, 17, 18 range.
SPEAKER_02And Daniel Jones was two spots left. The problem is Jalen Hurts is something that Daniel Jones has never been. A Super Bowl champion. No, well, yes, and an NCAA champion. Also, yes. Uh he is a habitual winner. That's fine. That's fair. He wins games, regardless of whether you like the way that he plays the quarterback position. He gets the job done when it matters the most. And to me, that's fair, but he's not the quarterback.
SPEAKER_00What I mean by saying that, I don't mean it to slander Jalen Hurts. I'm just saying he's not a quarterback that you are going to go draw. You don't put Jalen Hurts on the Dolphins and they go from being a two-win team to a net a nine-win team. If you take Josh Allen and you put him on the Dolphins, that's an eight-win football team minimum.
SPEAKER_02Six, seven-win team. That's crazy. That's fucking okay. Maybe that's a little crazy. It's one of the worst rosters ever constructed. I look, for as good as Josh Allen is, I don't know if like they, you know, this is a little blasphemous. I don't know if God could help. That's fucking insane, bro. Okay.
SPEAKER_00That's it's still the NFL. Okay. It's still the NFL.
SPEAKER_02I mean, who's he throwing to? Greg Borrell?
SPEAKER_00They have the lawn at four and a half with fucking Malik Willis. What do you think that would be if Josh Allen was their quarterback? It'd at least be six and a half, seven and a half.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but they have the Browns at three and a half.
SPEAKER_00You're telling me, you're telling me that Josh Allen himself isn't responsible for six Bills wins a game.
SPEAKER_02Let me ask you a question. They have the Browns at, I think it's five and a half or six and a half. Are they gonna win six games? I don't think so.
SPEAKER_00I don't think so. Are they gonna win four games? I don't think so. Yeah, they'll probably win. Maybe I think they'll shador Malik Willis. If you put if you put if you put Jalen Hurts on the Bills, what is their selling? I mean Do you think the Bills are a Super Bowl contender if you take those rosters and you say we're gonna take Josh Allen out, insert Jalen Hurts? No. If we took Josh Allen and we fucking put him on the Philadelphia Eagles with that roster, we'd be talking about them like people are talking about the Dodgers with baseball and what the Sixers are doing in basketball and what the Rams are doing by stockpiling Avengers over there. Well, but we're not because they're led by fucking Jalen Hurts instead of Josh Allen. The Bills are are so much better this year because they got fucking DJ Moore. Which is crazy. Takes them off this DJ Moore elevates a team that everybody was already like, oh, now they don't have fucking anybody outside of James Cook on their roster that's worth a fuck. And now DJ Moore is apparently God. So they're a they're gonna win the AFC should. I I haven't had that take. That's because of Josh Allen. Like that's because of Josh Allen.
SPEAKER_02Yes, it is because of Josh Allen.
SPEAKER_00So if you put Josh Allen on the Eagles, what would you be saying?
SPEAKER_02They would be saying we might as well cancel the NFL. The Bills, the Bills with Jalen Hurts are still a playoff team. No, the fuck they are not. Just like I think if you put Jalen Hurts on the Colts, they're probably a playoff team.
SPEAKER_00I only say that because the year after the Eagles won the Super Bowl, they had or went to the Super Bowl and lost that year. Who was their quarterback? And they were nine and seven, got beat the fuck out of by the was it the Lions? It was the Bucks of Baker Mayfield. Yeah. That year they won nine and seven. They didn't have any crazy injuries or anything or any of that shit. They didn't have as loaded of a roster around them, but it was still a good roster. That roster was still good. Yeah. And then all of a sudden, we are we need to go get AJ Brown. We need to go get Saquon Barkley. We need to go sign 15 other players. We need this person. We need Howie Roseman working on the thing. You don't have to do that if you have a Josh Allen at court.
SPEAKER_02That's not true. You're like, you don't have to do it, but you should. You should, but you don't have to do it. You should. Like you should. Just because they went and did it and Jalen Hurts was successful, and you're like, he's not that great. He's not.
SPEAKER_00He's not. That's fine. His numbers show it, his completion percentage show it, his yards show it. That's fine. He wins. You know who else won games? And it's not the same, but it's kind of Tim Tebow-ish.
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_00Tim Tebow won fucking football games.
SPEAKER_02He did win football games.
SPEAKER_00And then at the one he didn't get the chance. No, they went to the playoffs and they had that one pass to R.I.P. My boy, Damicus Thomas. Won that playoff game, never got another chance after the fact. Yeah. Yeah, he didn't deserve game. He was just the way he was throwing games. Yeah, I mean, look, it blew up.
SPEAKER_02Jalen Hurts is a million times better passer.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but he's not great. You're sitting over here telling, talking like Jalen Hurts is fucking Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow.
SPEAKER_02I mean, he has more rings.
SPEAKER_00If you took they're a perfect example. Let's just do that. Take Jalen Hurts and drop him on the Cincinnati Bengals. He's throwing it. Who couldn't make the playoffs with an MVP caliber Joe Burrow? You're telling me that fucking Jalen Hurts is taking that team to the playoffs.
SPEAKER_02I just don't think that we should hinder Jalen Hurts because his GM decided to go and get him weapon.
SPEAKER_00I'm just I'm I'm just evaluating it off of just of his talent.
SPEAKER_02Poor Josh Allen. That's it. Poor Josh Allen has the worst GM in football.
SPEAKER_00I mean, that can be true too. Like we don't love Brandon Bean.
SPEAKER_02No, he's not a fan of the.
SPEAKER_00But I'm just saying, I'm just saying. Look, if we it look, if if somebody dropped fucking DJ Moore in Philly and they didn't have Smitty and A or AJ Brown, nobody's going to be like, hey, DJ Moore. The addition of this, this Eagles team is gonna be legit. This is a team to watch out for.
SPEAKER_02They would be like DJ Moore's career's over.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. And and look, that's fine. Hey, look, you can be as big of a leader as you are, but uh sometimes a Jalen leader, Jalen Hurts leadership may be just the thing that takes them from here to here, not from the floor to the to the ceiling. He might just take them from you know almost to the ceiling, just give them that extra looking.
SPEAKER_02Let me before we end this, are you saying that the Bills roster is as bad as the Dolphins roster? No, I'm not. I'm just saying. Like, where is the Bills roster? Like, is it a top 15 roster?
SPEAKER_00Maybe, maybe.
SPEAKER_02But it's definitely not top 15.
SPEAKER_00I just feel like when you look at the Bills. I'm just asking. I'm not like trying to. The Bills roster for me, it just has like a handful of elite talent and like players. I mean, like, I don't think that they have like they don't have they're not littered with fucking trash like the Dolphins. They're just, you know, if you look at their roster compared to an actually good team, you know, the Seahawks roster doesn't stack up there. You look at it, and this is just taking the quarterback out of it. Just the just the position players, O-line, D-line, defense, everything. Yeah. The Bills don't stack up. Where do you? I mean, let's go. I'm not saying they do. I'm just asking. I'll take the Texans roster, I'll take the Chargers roster, I'll take the Ravens roster, I'll take the Patriots roster, I will take shit. That's just that's just a couple. That's just a couple. I'll take the Jags roster.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00I will take the Chiefs, I will take the Chargers, I will take the Broncos, I'll take the Bengals, I'll take where's that nine, 10 teams already right there? And that's just in the AFC alone.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00I'm just taking the NFC the Rams, the Seahawks, the 49ers, the Cowboys. I don't know if you can count the 49ers. You wouldn't take the 49ers roster? Oh my God.
SPEAKER_02I'm just I'm just saying the electrical substations hard as well. Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ. I'm not even saying nothing.
SPEAKER_00I didn't say anything. McCaffrey, George Kittle, Trent Williams.
SPEAKER_02I was making a joke. Oh, okay.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02You fucking.
SPEAKER_00Well, I didn't I didn't go over my head because I was too locked in. But but I mean, you which one of those teams do you think has a better roster outside? I'd probably put it somewhere in the 15 to 18 range, but Josh Allen's just that fucking good.
SPEAKER_02He is that good. 100%. So MVP candidate. Yeah, year in and year out. I just don't think that they have. I just don't know if there's anybody on planet Earth that you could put on that Dolphins team and make them good. That's me personally. I don't think.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I didn't say good. I didn't say good, brother. I didn't say good.
SPEAKER_02Dude, eight, nine wins is enough to make the playoffs.
SPEAKER_00No, it's not.
SPEAKER_02And I don't see.
SPEAKER_00Eight wins is a losing record.
SPEAKER_02Hey, they almost who almost made the playoffs with eight wins last year. Oh, wait.
SPEAKER_00The Panthers. The Panthers. Yeah, that's right. They won their division with that. Well, I'm sorry. Well, look, in a division that holds up with the fucking Jets and the Dolphins and a Josh Allenless Bills roster. You know, we don't know about the Patriots yet. Maybe eight, nine wins could win an AFC East without Josh Allen in it. Especially if he's playing in the division for the fucking Dolphins.
SPEAKER_01Like the weather would be better. He'd be elite. He would have much better weather to deal with.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I just, you know. Look, Josh Allen's him.
SPEAKER_02You're a big fan, I can tell you.
SPEAKER_00I'm not a big, I don't even think I'm a big Josh Allen fan.
SPEAKER_02He made a good argument for Josh Allen today.
SPEAKER_00I'm just a look, I'm just a realistic. I speak from a realistic standpoint, not if I like you or or don't like you. Like I don't like Jalen Hurts, but I don't think Jalen Hurts is terrible.
SPEAKER_02I don't think he's great. I think that Dolphins team's one of the worst teams ever constructed.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I'm sitting over here pounding the table to take a bet for them to not win a game.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But Josh Allen's that good. It's Josh Allen.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like he could probably will them to four or five.
SPEAKER_00Brother, you're talking about Josh Allen's probably gonna have more rushing touchdowns than the offense for the the entire offense for the Dolphins.
SPEAKER_02Devon Achan would be electric together. That would be it, though.
SPEAKER_00That's all he'd need.
SPEAKER_02They have a way to get it.
SPEAKER_00I mean, he he made it to the what AFC championship game with fucking Khalil Shakir.
SPEAKER_02Like Malik Washington's comparable.
SPEAKER_00I mean, it's not hard to fucking be 800-yard receiver if you're a wide receiver one.
SPEAKER_02Man, but that's it. That's all I got.
SPEAKER_00I don't have anything else either, man. What a pod. What another day.
SPEAKER_02It's been a good week for news. I'm sure that it'll continue.
SPEAKER_00Oh, football is fucking two days away, bro.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. We got the Hall of Fame game on Thursday. Can't wait to see my boy Carson Beck. Yeah, Cardinals uh Panthers. Can he pick it v Carson Beck? It should be horrible. I am only going to. It should be a horrible game.
SPEAKER_00It should be painful to watch. The good thing is, look, bro, I don't really, I'm not putting too much stock into it. I'm going to watch, you know, the first possession, and then I'm going to say, wow, this looks like a bad football team.
SPEAKER_02I'll watch it for as long as Carson Beck's in there. I want to see what he's got.
SPEAKER_00Bro, what if Carson Beck's a guy? I mean, people were talking about Carson Beck being a first-round pick along with Kate Klubdick. Oof. I ain't seen any training camp film of him looking like Carson Beck. Ah, he's going to be the guy later on. One of us is a guy, one of us is not. Man.
SPEAKER_02That's it. That's all I got.
SPEAKER_00Episode 33. As always, thank y'all for tuning in.
