We're Not Experts
We’re Not Experts is a podcast hosted by two guys who’ve somehow survived 15+ years of friendship and now think that qualifies them to talk into microphones. We’re average early 30’s dudes with very strong opinions and very average credentials—which is exactly the point.
We’re sports ethicists in the loosest sense of the term, breaking down the morals, madness, and mayhem of a wide variety of sports… but let’s be honest: football will absolutely hijack the conversation. We can talk about other sports. We just won’t stop talking about football.
Expect passionate debates, hot takes that cool off immediately, arguments that go nowhere, and the occasional moment of clarity that surprises everyone—including them. Stats may appear. Logic might leave the room. Confidence will always be high.
We’re not analysts. We’re not insiders. We’re definitely not experts.
We’re just two longtime friends talking sports the way most people do—too confidently, for too long, and with absolutely no credentials to back it up.
We’re Not Experts — and neither are you, so you’ll fit right in.

Today we talked John Harbaugh inspirational speech, Malik Nabers not on the PUP list to start out, who's QB1 in Cleveland, and the Arizona Cardinals Director of College Scouting Ryan Gold betting on sports, and much more.
Welcome in. Episode 31. I'm Raleigh Jones. And I'm sitting in front of the New York Giants. The New York Giants. The New York Giants.
SPEAKER_01The New York Giants.
SPEAKER_00It's an honor.
SPEAKER_01It's an honor. What a crazy way. Dog, what a cra the fact that the Giants put that out is crazy.
SPEAKER_00The New York Giants.
SPEAKER_01It's something you would expect from the New York Giants.
SPEAKER_00You see the energy Jackson Dart and Cam Scataboo give off. And this is how you come into the room.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I would have figured like we would have like a cut of like Cam Scadaboo and Jackson Dart standing up like the New York Giants and headbutting each other.
SPEAKER_00It's just the New York Giants. The New York Giants.
SPEAKER_01If you were John Harbaugh in that moment, like and you say that and like nobody like utters a word. Like how like how how would that make you feel if you were John Harbaugh in that moment?
SPEAKER_00Look, here's the good thing. John Harbaugh's been doing this a long time.
SPEAKER_01A very long time.
SPEAKER_00He's been doing this a long time. And not only has he been doing it for a long time, he's been doing it at a high level for a long time.
SPEAKER_01Something that the Giants haven't had in quite some time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So I would assume that this probably isn't the first time something that he's done like that hasn't landed. And to be honest with you, watching the video, he doesn't come off as the guy that's gonna come in the room and give you the big, you know, speech. The, you know, the the Dan Campbell speech.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But I feel like in that moment, like for me, when I look at it, I look at it, and the first thing that went through my mind was like, if I would have probably been pissed if I was John Harbaugh. Like I took it as he was coming in and he's saying, like, look, like, I'm standing in front of one of the most storied franchises. Like, yeah, like, or or not even that, because obviously that's not true. I mean, yeah, they're it's one of the biggest markets.
SPEAKER_00One two big Super Bowls. One more than that. How many Super Bowls do the Giants won? Three or four.
SPEAKER_01But anyways. Anyways, like we're where he's it I f it felt like he was coming in and saying, like, you guys are somebody in this league. Like, we're gonna be a threat. Like, we're not the four win New York Giants. You know what I'm saying? Like, we're not who we've been. Yeah. Like, this is a new age of us. And like the it just it like the fact that they just didn't give a reaction at all. And and he said it four times. Like, he's like, Alright, I'm the New York Giants. He's like, Alright, let me amp it up a little bit. Then amps it up a little bit more. And then he hits it again.
SPEAKER_00I think he's like, all right, fuck it. I think I know why he was so hype.
SPEAKER_01Because he's excited to not be in Baltimore.
SPEAKER_00No, well, that is a dirty city. That's a dirty city, boy.
SPEAKER_01Then why why would why was he excited?
SPEAKER_00He was so excited because Malik Neighbors isn't gonna be on the pup to start the year. That just turned him up. I would if I was John Harbaugh, I would be super excited. You just hope that he's like He's like, man, we're the New York Giants. With Malik Neighbors. We're the New York Giants. I mean, this is a new age. Yeah. Hey, look, in all accounts, he's the guy to turn it around.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I mean, he's coming into, which granted, they do have a tough division. Like, if if everybody's what they expect, even if the Giants are better, like, do we expect them to be a playoff contender?
SPEAKER_00And don't forget, we both picked the Cowboys to win the division.
SPEAKER_01Correct. But I'm saying, like, we think we both think the Cowboys are gonna be good. I think the Eagles are still gonna be good. I think if Jaden's healthy, the commanders are gonna bounce back and be better. So I mean, like, their division's gonna be tough, but I mean, they've got all the pieces for the a good defense. They've got a quarterback that you believe is gonna be the guy. If Neighbors comes back and he's you know what he was before the ACL, you've you've got a young quarterback with a young number one wide receiver. You've got Cam Scatabou, who you know, you're a little bit bigger fan and a little bit more on the hype train on Scat than I am, but you know I just you just did you can't teach dog. Yeah, facts. You cannot teach dog, and that's one thing you gotta like, but you know the film's not bad either. The I mean the film going back to comment. He's most impressive receiving, like as a receiver, yeah, but he'll also run a motherfucker straight to the ground.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he did a backflip at the Fanatics Fan Fest. You see that?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Hey, one day we're gonna be there.
SPEAKER_01People are yeah, for sure. With a card table, too. Because I do I do have a card hobby.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01Speaking of cards, I did recently pick up an auto Ashen Genty rookie.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you need them to run for 2K now. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, I did it, so I'm a dirtbag, so like my original plan when I started doing this was like acquiring my fantasy team's rookie cards and like put them in my little display case that I have, and every week in fantasy I was gonna talk shit and like here's my lineup, like move them around as I like put people on the bench and shit like that too. But then I was like, oh fuck, I have Josh Allen. And a Josh Allen rookie card's not cheap. And a Bijan Rock rookie card's not cheap.
SPEAKER_00What are we what are we talking?
SPEAKER_01I mean a base Josh Allen, probably raw is probably a minimum like seven, eight hundred dollars.
SPEAKER_00No fucking. I can tell you exactly like what it would be.
SPEAKER_01If it's like a great, like if that's just a base rookie card, yeah, bro. Like good Josh Allen rookie cards are like ridiculously expensive.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. Did you know that they have Tyler Shuck to throw for 4,500 yards? Who? Well, they don't have it, but so uh on on DraftKings.
SPEAKER_01Is that his lawn?
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, no, no, no. But he's more likely to do it than I think it was like Justin Herbert, Josh Allen. It was like Caleb Williams. I mean, I guess that's Baker Mayfield that is a bad team. I was just I thought it was I was like, I mean, I guess he does have I was kind of way off.
SPEAKER_01A raw base Josh Allen card is a still a hundred dollar card, and you're talking about getting these for like two dollars for Caleb Williams or some shit like that.
SPEAKER_00What was uh what was the Ashton Gente auto?
SPEAKER_01I paid $30 for it.
SPEAKER_00Which say Ashton Gente ran for $2K this year.
SPEAKER_01He would have to put up like a Hall of Fame career. He'd have to like in for it to be like worth some cheddar, like some real cheddar, it would have to be like he would have to be like one of the greatest of all time running backs. In the card market, quarter quarterbacks are like king. Right. Well, I mean, I guess that's but it's not even like it's it's bad to the point where it's like almost disrespectful to like other great players. Like I can go get like a numbered Derrick Henry rookie patch auto card for like a couple hundred bucks. You feel like that's that same card for Josh Allen would be like 15,000 20k. Bro, Patrick Mahomes rookie card, like his national treasure, it was like out of two with a rookie patch auto sold for like five million dollars. Shit. Oh bro, that's not even shit. It gets crazier, bro. There's like fucking like Honus Wagner, like the origin his rookie card, I think it is from like 1900 is like a 40 million dollar card.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. The trading card industry is crazy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So your your thoughts on Maligue Neighbors?
SPEAKER_01Sorry, we got a little off track there, but I mean I'm a big neighbors fan. You know, I don't expect him to come back and be Maligue Neighbors of old immediately. Like, I don't think we see that this year, but like I can see him getting back to that, you know, next year and beyond. The thing that concerns me for this year is like three months ago, like you how long ago was it when we saw my man limping still?
SPEAKER_00A couple like a month or two.
SPEAKER_01So, you know, like you're telling me you go from like not even be able to walk straight to being an elite NFL wide receiver three months later. I just I don't see it.
SPEAKER_00He went to Antigua, brother.
SPEAKER_01He went to Germany with Christian McCaffrey's Achilles specialist. He found he said, do what you did to his Achilles to my knee.
SPEAKER_00You definitely, I agree with you, you definitely won't see superstar in the league neighbors. If he plays week one, you definitely won't see it week one. It'll be more like week seven, probably. Week eight.
SPEAKER_01That'll be that'll be where he's comes back week one.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01I'm not sure if even though he starts on pup, like, because he's not starting on pup, that he doesn't have to be. And it's also crazy that, like, think about how crazy it is that we're talking about Daniel Jones tearing his Achilles halfway through the year being ready for week one, and Malik Neighbors tore his ACL, which is a much faster typical return four or five weeks earlier, and he's still not gonna be here week one.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you know what that tells me about Daniel Jones? He just built different. Got a little bit of dog.
SPEAKER_01Got that dog in him. I mean, Pat's gonna be back.
SPEAKER_00Pat is in.
SPEAKER_01And he tore his ACL, what, the week before the last season? Second to last week, something like that. It was late.
SPEAKER_00You know, Pat's got a little bit of dog.
SPEAKER_01They got a well, it's hard when you're rehabbing in a New York Giants facility. All that turf.
SPEAKER_00Dude, I cannot believe they ripped up all that fucking grass.
SPEAKER_01They did?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, all of it. Every every stadium that has turf ripped up the grass. That's crazy. It's kind of disgusting. Well, it just shows how much money the World Cup had. Man.
SPEAKER_01You're gonna put grass in and rip that shit in.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, if you want to host a game here, you're gonna put grass in.
SPEAKER_01You're gonna do what we tell you to do, and they're like, shit, we're gonna make so much money, it really doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_00That's the crazy thing, is the NFL, I mean, they're not they're not making FIFA money, but like, they're making a fuck ton of money. Yeah. Every year. Right. Like it there's no way, there's no way that it's not financially plausible to play with grass on every field.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Right. Like, why is Seattle not having a lot of people? You're telling me that you can't afford it.
SPEAKER_00Right. Like, there's no way, there's no way. Like especially an outdoor stadium.
SPEAKER_01Part of it's beginning is see the the thing that I hate about you is you can't be big dome and progress.
SPEAKER_00You can. Why can't you?
SPEAKER_01Because they're gonna have to spend a fuck ton maintaining gr the grass in a dome versus like. It's over, bro.
SPEAKER_00You can just do what the Cardinals do. The Cardinals play with natural grass.
SPEAKER_01What do they do?
SPEAKER_00They have a retractable, it's this thing, it's the field, but it's retractable. It goes out to the biggest.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like, you know, they could all do that. Well, why would they not have to? They don't. They don't. They clearly don't. They don't give a fuck.
SPEAKER_01They don't give a fuck. Yeah, they're like big dogs.
SPEAKER_00You have George Kittle fucking tweeting the NFL when he's at the feet at the uh World Cup. All this crash sure does look nice. He's like talking shit.
SPEAKER_01Well, look, by tell by me, I thought they were keeping it after the World Cup.
SPEAKER_00I was under the impression at first that they were also keeping it.
SPEAKER_01The fact that they're not makes me feel better about trade neighbors again. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00No, I get that.
SPEAKER_01I mean, now you got even more concern with like it rushing him back. Fuck it. Put him on puck.
SPEAKER_00I fucking hate the turf. Yeah, I mean And if they're gonna do the turf, they should do like what the Titans have done. There's a couple other teams that have adopted the game.
SPEAKER_01I just think we should just make it as close to gly gly look God, I can't talk grass as possible.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, right. Like that's what the Titans did. It was like you know, it was like state of the art when they first did it.
SPEAKER_01But I mean, these people have money.
SPEAKER_00Like, it ain't like they're broke, like you do you agree, do you agree with the uh the notion that the Browns QB battle is gonna be one of the most fascinating of training camp?
SPEAKER_01I mean, uh, it's only gonna be fascinating because it's like it's Shador Sanders who like it's fascinating for all of the wrong like reasons. You don't think it's not like we're like we got two good guys that we're comfortable leading a franchise. It's like oh god. Think about it. Think about it. How think about how bad it looks both ways. I do. If Shador Sanders loses the battle, it's like fuck, you just lost to Deshaun Watson, and I mean he's just been terrible and he's been hurt from an Achilles for two years.
SPEAKER_00And he pulls his dick out and massages.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And if you're Deshaun Watson, it's like fuck, you lost the battle to a fifth-round draft pick who wasn't great.
SPEAKER_00This is both things could be good.
SPEAKER_01So, like, this isn't this is a lose lose if you're Cleveland.
SPEAKER_00You know what the you know what the saddest part? I like Todd Monkin. I don't know why. I like dude, the offenses in Baltimore when he was there ran the football. They had they ran the football a lot. Yeah, they did, but they was they were good. Like these offenses were they were good.
SPEAKER_01They certainly don't have Lamar Jackson and they got shaded. I mean, they don't even have fucking Zay Flowers on that offense.
SPEAKER_00Hey, hey, hey, they got KC. He's not fucking Zay Flowers, who I mean, you know. He's probably better. I don't like Zay Flowers. I think he's a fucking bum. Okay, that was a hot take. I don't think Zay Flowers is a bum. I just don't he's not as good as the 1,200 yards he put up last year.
SPEAKER_01You don't think so? I don't agree. I don't think so either. I don't think so either.
SPEAKER_00Those are inflated numbers. He that's probably the best year of his career.
SPEAKER_01It just does you like it feels like he had the same impact as you know, your boy, Alec Pierce. Except you feel a lot better about Alec Pierce and his 1,000 yards for some reason than you do Zay Flowers in his 1200s.
SPEAKER_00Because the Baltimore Ravens are never gonna pay Zay Flowers Alec Pierce money. I mean, they shouldn't, though, but they shouldn't. No, I don't think he can't score. He's too little. Like, there's a couple reasons why you don't pay Zay Flowers Alec Pierce money.
SPEAKER_01Well, but my point is, is I don't pay Alec Pierce Alec Pierce money. Like Alec Pierce should have been getting Alec Pierce in reality should have been getting Wandale Robinson money.
SPEAKER_00You know, maybe Wandale should have got Alec Pierce money.
SPEAKER_01I feel better about it. Like, I feel better about it.
SPEAKER_00No, fuck that, dude. I'm I'm in. I'm in on Alec Pierce.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you ain't got no choice but to be a good one.
SPEAKER_00I'm here for 1,210 with 84 receptions.
SPEAKER_01I I just don't see that in his future. Especially because if if that's his stat line, then like his best skill and the reason why you paid him, you're essentially taking that out. If he has 84 catches, if he has 84 catches for 1,200 yards, you're telling me the man's gonna get 40 more catches and only 200 more yards.
SPEAKER_00You're right, it'll probably be like 1,500. No, I'm not gonna say that.
SPEAKER_01If Alec Pierce has 84 catches, he should have 14, 1,500 yards.
SPEAKER_00If he does just be throwing the ball to the deep. Let me ask you this. Because I don't know if he'll go for 14. 13's probably the ceiling for me. If he hits 13, 1,400 yards, are you gonna look me in my eyes and be like, all right, man, I guess the contract was worth it.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm not.
SPEAKER_00That's crazy.
SPEAKER_01No, no, and let me tell you why. No, because it's literally we live the last episode we were talking, and we were talking about my belief in Darnold and how the first year when he did it in Minnesota, I had no faith in him, and then he did it again last year and won the Super Bowl, and now going into next year, I have faith in him. I'm not I'm not getting overly excited about one good year when I have multiple years that show me the data of otherwise. Now, if he comes out and he goes 1,300 yards this year and he goes 1,300 yards next year, I believe it's went for a thousand last year. On 47 catches, like yes, okay, in theory, it's impressive. But he it just shows me he's a one-trick pony, and that's what my problem with Alec Pierce is.
SPEAKER_00That's crazy, bro. You just you just said that Sam Darnold did it for two years in a row and now going into the year three.
SPEAKER_01There's a difference between Sam Darnold's first year in Minnesota and fucking Alec Pierce putting a thousand yards in Indianapolis. There's a total difference.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. But I mean, you know how many receivers. Well, last year was in a number of. The Colts aren't gonna win the Super Bowl. They're not even gonna make the playoffs.
SPEAKER_01Okay then. But okay, that and I'm not saying that they have to have the success. I'm talking about the performing, just the individual performance. Sam Darnold, it wasn't as good, but you he did the a lot of winning to make up for it. The difference is Sam Darnold did nothing to lose anything for Seattle like we have been accustomed to. When it mattered, he showed up, he performed, he played well, he didn't play bad in any moment to cost him their season in any kind of way. Alec Pierce can't necessarily do that because he's a wide receiver. But for him to for me to say, okay, he's a guy. Now, granted, look, he comes up, he puts 1,300 yards up, I might say he's the 20th best receiver. And then if he does it again, then I'll say, okay, then he can take a leap. But it's the same reason why I said everybody's you told me I was crazy the other day when I said JSN's not a top three wide receiver. Yeah, that's that's crazy because there's no way that you would say that JSN is better than Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson, or Puka Nakua. And the basis of that is is the production that they've done year in and year out for a long period of time. Um you wouldn't you shouldn't put JSN over Amon Ross and Brown.
SPEAKER_00He definitely had a more impressive season than there's only two guys on that list. I guess you could put Puka on there too. So you put him at four, but I mean I'm not putting him, I'm putting who?
SPEAKER_01Putting who at four? JSN. Why?
SPEAKER_00I mean 1700.
SPEAKER_01You're putting JSN, you're taking JSN over Amonrah St. Brown.
SPEAKER_00I it this conversation's hard.
SPEAKER_01Because I'm gonna give you a cra I'm gonna give you a crazy stat.
SPEAKER_00Like, I don't hate, like, I fuck with Amon Raw tough. Like, I think he's a great wide receiver.
SPEAKER_01I mean it you're slighting him, but it doesn't make me think that you hate him.
SPEAKER_00Like, just like I, you know, like I would take all five of them.
SPEAKER_01Right. It's the tier thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Like, I think all five of them are sick as fuck. Like, I think all five of them are probably the top five in the league. You could probably put CeeDee Lamb in there and make it a top six. Absolutely. Like, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but I just think when you look at it when when I look at it and I say, okay, he had he had the 1700 yard season. Wow, great. But when you talk about Amin Ross St. Brown, so since he's coming to the league, well, uh since 2022, he is number one in production amongst wide receivers.
SPEAKER_00I wouldn't I wouldn't. Touchdowns, receptions, probably. Receptions, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01And he's doing that in an offense that some would say is a run first offense. For sure. That has all this talent around him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, I mean that's a that's a decent argument.
SPEAKER_01If you look at Seattle and you talk about JSN, it while it is impressive that he was able to do that, like, who was he competing with targets for?
SPEAKER_00That's fair. Cooper Cup.
SPEAKER_01AJ Barner.
SPEAKER_00Rasheed Cheed. A true deep threat.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But I mean, which granted, if you look at JSN does have a better package, like, because he can like Amon Ra's not a oh hit you for a 70 yard bomb. Does it be?
SPEAKER_00Does it speak volumes to you when when like they talk to all these Ohio statewide receivers and they all say the same thing? They're all like, who was the best at all you guys? And they all say the same thing. Yeah, but they're all like JSN's the sickest.
SPEAKER_01Look, you remember when he was coming out of the draft, I was pounding the table for JSN.
SPEAKER_00You 100% were.
SPEAKER_01So I was the JSN guy before anybody. And I wanted JSN since last year.
SPEAKER_00And year one didn't look like it was gonna be great.
SPEAKER_01No. And it didn't look great in year two. You didn't look at which granted, it looked good enough to where you're like, we can move off of DK Metcalf, but nobody was coming into the season saying fucking JSN. If if you would have told me at the beginning of last year, JSN was offensive player of the year, he's putting up 1700 yards and what 12, 13 touchdowns is what he did, something like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You tell me he's putting that up, you're you're like, yeah, you're smoking rocks.
SPEAKER_00That's fair. I wouldn't have I wouldn't have I wouldn't have said that. I guess you're good enough for me. You could predict the breakout with the season he had before.
SPEAKER_01You could predict it, but you didn't think it's that.
SPEAKER_00Especially if you were basing it off of like fantasy finish. Like if you were if you were doing like you know, me and you both, we'd both play fantasy and take it pretty serious. So like you go back and you look at a a player's end of the year finish and you're like, man, he ended the year strong. There's a good chance he has a lot of things.
SPEAKER_01With bringing DK Metcalf and going from Geno Smith to Sam Darnold that he does that. But you know, if one there's one thing that we know is Sam Darnold is your quarterback. He's gonna feed your wide receiver one. I mean, look what he did with Jettos.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Poor Jettos. There's rumblings that JJ could win the job. I don't know if that's true or not.
SPEAKER_01There's no way that's true.
SPEAKER_00Hey, look, I the shit that I read sometimes I think isn't true, ends up being true.
SPEAKER_01So there's no way. If JJ McCarthy is their starting quarterback, do you know what we never even answered the question, man?
SPEAKER_00We'll get back to that. That's how bad the Browns are. Who you who you want coming out of that? You want you want Deshaun? I want Shador. You want Shador?
SPEAKER_01I want to see, look, I want Shador to be successful. I don't love him, but like I want Shador to be successful because of people be hating on him. Like that's my thing.
SPEAKER_00People do be hating on him.
SPEAKER_01I like the I like the pizzazz and the persona. I don't love it that you're like acting as if you're like the greatest thing walking at quarterback and you've earned nothing in this league. I don't like that. But I like the you know the confidence in yourself and like There's only one thing that bothers me about Shador.
SPEAKER_00One thing. And it's it's it's stupid, but it's the fact that he got his number retired at Colorado.
SPEAKER_01And he did like nothing spectacular.
SPEAKER_00Nothing. Nothing.
SPEAKER_01Like barely made a bowl game.
SPEAKER_00He got to throw to Travis Hunter.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I can at least understand the Travis to an extent. He won a high school.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he oh, he was probably the first person in Colorado. I don't think so.
SPEAKER_01Colorado football used to be nice. Yeah, maybe I'm maybe But anyways. Maybe he probably was. I'm just saying, I f like I remember Colorado football being good. But you know.
SPEAKER_00That must have been before my time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was a while ago.
SPEAKER_00God damn, where the fuck was Colorado football good?
SPEAKER_01I don't know. Maybe I'm just making this up, or maybe I just done blink the penjamin too many times and I'm confusing them with like Nebraska.
SPEAKER_00I do hope that Shador also wins the job. As much as like you don't love Shador's antics, some, you know, maybe you do. Maybe you don't.
SPEAKER_01I've just seen enough Deshaun Watson to be like, if if like if this guy wins the Super Bowl, Shador's NFL career should be over because Watson's been terrible.
SPEAKER_00He Shador Sanders shouldn't even be in the league.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, bro. They want a natty in 1990. Bro, I brother, well, look, I'll be knowing ball. 90? They won a they won a natty in 1990. Colorado won a natty? In 1990. Really? Yeah, bro. I'm telling you, they had they had a Heisman winner in 94, too.
SPEAKER_00The New York Giants.
SPEAKER_01See, I knew it, brother.
SPEAKER_00The New York Giants. I got ball knowledge.
SPEAKER_01Look, if there's one thing that I know is ball.
SPEAKER_00Well, I'll the quarterback of that team get away from the show.
SPEAKER_01Sometimes I forget it, but like when I think of it, I'm like, damn, I thought of this for a reason. Like I think this for a reason. It's because I knew it.
SPEAKER_00Damn, they won an Addy in 90. I'll never forget that. I will always remember that. Mm-hmm. That is that's funny. So we're both we're in agreement here. We both want Shador. I mean, you could we could bring up the fact that Diego Pavio got waived today.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. We I mean, who who saw that? Who saw that? Who who told you that was gonna happen? What I'm pretty sure I said that trading camp was gonna start and he's immediately waived.
SPEAKER_00He's gonna make a good UFL quarterback.
SPEAKER_01Brother, he is my height.
SPEAKER_00He's gonna make a good UFL quarterback. He's probably actually shorter than me. He's gonna be a dog for the Birmingham Stallions. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Nah, man. We need him running the show for the DC defenders.
SPEAKER_00You know, my boy Brendan Sorsby's going to the Houston Gamblers. Oh, I know something we can talk about. This is this can be it. This is the last topic of the show right here. You ready for this? Let's talk about my boy from Arizona. The scouting. What was his name? Ryan What?
SPEAKER_01What a finesser.
SPEAKER_00Dude, if I'm being honest, I'm just gonna go out here and I'm gonna start assuming that most of these guys are probably betting. They're probably being dirtbags.
SPEAKER_01Well, here's the thing. Why wouldn't you? It's look, as far as I'm concerned, it's no different than insider trading in the stock market.
SPEAKER_00They said Congress, they said Congress gets all this insider information on stock trades. Why can't we fucking place bets?
SPEAKER_01I mean, what's the difference? What's the difference between Nancy Pelosi knowing that some crazy shit's about to come out that's gonna help her hurt this stock and her buying the shit? And of somebody who knows who that Jeremiah loves getting drafted at three, telling saying we're drafted him at three. I mean, why not?
SPEAKER_00That wasn't, but he was also placing parlays. Hey, he was a parlay guy. Look, he was taking college bets.
SPEAKER_01And he didn't have an impact on a game, okay? He's just a fucking scout.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean just a what is he? He was like the head scout or some shit like that.
SPEAKER_01I mean, my uh he should he probably knew ball. Hey, if his gambling record was trash, you know it's rigged. Because how do you you know if you're in the NFL and suck at gambling, you and like you're supposed to be a real expert.
SPEAKER_00I could tell you who wasn't good at gambling.
SPEAKER_01Shohei Otani.
SPEAKER_00Hey, I've never seen anybody. My boy, the translator went down. He got pinned.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I saw a video of the other day. The translator got framed. I don't know if this was new or not when I saw it, but not too long ago, I saw a video of a guy doing an interview, like saying that he got like a $300 million wire to cover gambling losses directly from Shohei Otani.
SPEAKER_00Shit.
SPEAKER_01I just don't see that being real because we're the like I know he's got a fuck ton of bread, he got a big check and whatnot, but 300 mil cash, that's a lot of money. 300 mil in the wire, I don't stand right.
SPEAKER_00Let me tell you something. If you're hey, let me tell you something. The New York Giants. No, if you're if you're betting 300 million dollars You might as well just give it to me.
SPEAKER_01Man, brother, you brother, I gamble to try to get rich. If I got rich gambling, the last thing I'm gonna be doing is gambling.
SPEAKER_00I I swear to God, if I ever hits if I hit for a mil, I'm done. If I hit for a million dollars, I'm done.
SPEAKER_01Bruh, if I hit this million dollar parlay football season, I'm hitting withdraw. My apps are deleted before the money even touches my account. 100%. I don't even need to look at it. I know the bread's coming.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like it's gone.
SPEAKER_01There's no what I need to gamble for. That's literally what you set out to do.
SPEAKER_00Is 300 million chasing the dragon? Bro, you're addicted. Hey, dog, that is some hardcore shit.
SPEAKER_01Who the fuck got who has $300 million to lose? Like, what bookie, like buddy.
SPEAKER_00Have you never heard the Dana White stories?
SPEAKER_01I'm saying if a casino lost $300 million in a day, that's traffic to this.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, no, no, no. They're gonna murder you.
SPEAKER_01If you went into a casino and took them for $300 million, you're getting at what you think I'm gonna do to the person I owe $300 million to.
SPEAKER_00Hopefully, if you owe it to them, you're gonna run.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna get them killed.
SPEAKER_00Like, you're I'm telling you, you're not walking out of the casino. They're putting a hit. They're putting a hit.
SPEAKER_01You need to come with us.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's over.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. They're like, we're not paying you $300 million. It's crazy that you know, a casino wouldn't let you win $300 million. Yeah, they'd win. But they will absolutely let you lose it. Yeah, they wouldn't cut you off for losing.
SPEAKER_00But you're probably gonna get to like you probably get to like eight million and they're gonna be like, all right, man, get the fuck out of here.
SPEAKER_01Bro, if I went to Oak Grove Casino every weekend and smacked them for $20,000, $30,000, $40,000, $50,000 starting out, and that grew to $200,000, $300,000. Yeah, they're definitely like they're not gonna let me come out here and keep winning. They'll stop me from betting. But if I was in here losing $200,000, they're in here. What can we do to get you back in?
SPEAKER_00It's really a dirtbag game, isn't it?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I should be able to beat y'all as bad as y'all beat me.
SPEAKER_00But the the it's it's not designed that way. No, it's never designed.
SPEAKER_01The house never loses, brother. There's a reason. The house always.
SPEAKER_00Taylor the one has a story about him losing like something like 200k. Wow.
SPEAKER_01I wouldn't even be if I had that kind of money.
SPEAKER_00That's not I'm gonna be honest with you. That doesn't sound fun.
SPEAKER_01Losing 200,000. And I know what you're thinking.
SPEAKER_00You're like, of course it doesn't sound fun. I lose $10. And you're hurt. I'm like, god damn it, man. Fuck. I'm like needed that. Yeah, like I'm fucking able to win 74 bucks. Right. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Like I couldn't. I couldn't imagine.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, bro. I'm like, if I You put 200K on the ground, I'm mad if I brought I don't care if I lost a dollar, I'm pissed.
SPEAKER_00Like 200K, I'm not gonna be able to sleep. How do you have a gambling addiction when you're rich? I mean, I get like I get going to the casino and hitting, you know, the Baccarod table or the blackjack table for a little bit, have a little fun.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but I even then, even then, I wouldn't I would just be doing it for fun.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_01$100, $50. I'm in here. If I had a million dollars in my account, I'm going to the casino playing $15 minimums. Why? Because I'm just here for the fun. Yeah. And to scratch the itch. We say that. Nah, bro. You've seen me at the blackjack table get up plenty of times.
SPEAKER_00We say that. Bro, I'm getting a big thing. We've also never had a large sum of money.
SPEAKER_01Shit. Bro, I ran up $500 from the blackjack table and said if I lose $50 to this of this $500 in the blackjack, I'm getting up.
SPEAKER_00Like it there's gotta be a reason they do it though. Like it's gotta be like this.
SPEAKER_01Fuck you money, you can do whatever. I mean, Taylor LeWan, $200 million should be fuck you money.
SPEAKER_00100%. $200 million is fuck you money.
SPEAKER_01I don't give a fuck how much is taken out out of taxes. Okay, $120 million that after taxes is still fuck you money.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that that whole shit about them asking the athletes like about their finances. Have you seen those videos? Nah. And they all complain and bitch about like taxes and shit. Yeah, bro. Like, I don't work at a job and pay taxes.
SPEAKER_01You're talking about fucking.
SPEAKER_00I don't want to hear you bitch.
SPEAKER_01You're talking about losing 48% of 30 million.
SPEAKER_00Like, goddamn, bro, you still walked away with 17 billion dollars.
SPEAKER_01How am I supposed to manage this? What the fuck do you mean, bro? You saw your mom manage it with 20k a year and three kids.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, how about maybe you don't fucking buy every homie you have a $150,000 car and you buy your mom a $500,000 house, and then you got three or four cars yourself.
SPEAKER_01I ain't gonna lie, bro. If I got rich and you weren't rich, like I mean, like, I would not buy you a car. I love you. You my brother. Like I wouldn't expect you to buy me a car. I wouldn't buy you a car. Like, I don't understand. No, you know, it wouldn't be no, hey, bro, like, you know, there wouldn't be no having hard you wouldn't be falling on hard times by any means. Right, yeah. Like you know, you need a TV at the crib downstairs, you know.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Like, like I get like so you saw what Pat McAfee did when he signed his new deal. No, gave everybody some cheddar.
SPEAKER_01Who? Like the people involved? Yeah, yeah, for sure. If you're contributing to this, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, right. But I'm saying, like, yeah, like I would do something like that. Like, I would, you know, like I'm throwing like you in position though. Like, I would throw you, like, like I would throw like my brother, for example.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like, I would throw him 1015k.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00You know what I'm saying? Like, here's 1015k to enjoy yourself. Like, yeah, enjoy yourself, get caught up on everything that you need to be caught up on. Like, get yourself in a decent spot, get you some savings. Right, but I But I'm not gonna like like I'm not gonna sit over here and be like, hey man, you can quit your job and just come do nothing.
SPEAKER_01Facts. I mean, here's my thing. I'm putting you like I would give you that in the form of a position. Right. Okay, like I'm gonna hire you to do something for me. Like, I also wouldn't, you're not gonna have to go work at Pepsi.
SPEAKER_00Like, I would also like like I wouldn't want to do it for nothing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you know what I'm saying? But think about but think about how many people are getting those positions with somebody and then their friends and shit feel like they owe them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_01You know what I'm saying? Like if we were my dog and I'm an athlete and I go to the NFL, I go to the NFL. Right. Like you're my dog. Right. We didn't go. Like you I put this work in.
SPEAKER_00100%.
SPEAKER_01You know. Like are you you can't like you can't sit over here and be like I'm gonna reward you for being my dog because you are my dog, but that's why, you know, I'm gonna make sure you're straight, you need anything, you ain't gotta worry about it. You're gonna be talking, but you're not yeah, right. You're not gonna make it. Unless you're gonna come work for me. Like you wanna come be my manager or not?
SPEAKER_00Or you did something to make yourself rich. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00You can't just like that's part of the problem too, though. It's like you can't just give it to somebody.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00It it goes back to the old saying, bro. And this is and this is how we can end it for real. You can teach a man to fish and feed him forever. Yeah. Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. You know what I'm saying? That's facts. You can't give it to them. They gotta earn it.
SPEAKER_01If you don't put that work in, you're not hey, you don't deserve it.
SPEAKER_00And that's what we do here, and we're not experts. Man. We put in that work every day.
SPEAKER_01I worked an 11-hour shift.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And what the first thing I did when I left work, I went back to work with my hard hat and my lunch pad.
SPEAKER_00Here to put in the work.

SPEAKER_01I forgot about that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01That shit's sad as far as it's and and you look, it really does put a damper on my Panthers winning the NFC South prediction.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, I could have told you that. They got Bryce Young. Hey. He's coming back. He's never thrown for 3,100 yards.
SPEAKER_01There's a first time for everything, brother. I bet. There was a point in time when Tom Brady didn't throw for a thousand yards in a season, so we know how he third out. It ain't how you start, brother. It's how you finish. That's true.
