SPEAKER_00

Episode 27. Back in the cave.

SPEAKER_01

Man, for the 27th time, man. WNE. Keep on, keep the the show must go on. We're gonna keep rolling.

SPEAKER_00

We'll uh hop straight into it. Jeffrey Simmons collects a bag. Man, a well-deserved bag. 105 million dollar contract, 100 million guaranteed. It's a large bag of money. Man. What we would call an ethical bag.

SPEAKER_01

He's definitely earned it both on and off the field. Yeah, he's a good human. Man, great human.

SPEAKER_00

On top of being a good football player. Pretty sure he's uh Walter Mate Walter Payton man of the year. He's paid like the best defensive tackle in the league.

SPEAKER_01

He also plays like the best defensive tackle in the league.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. I think no arguments here with that.

SPEAKER_01

He has been an absolute dog in Tennessee, like s for since really since he came back. Like since since he like came back from that injury, he's been I mean, uh easily the best player for the Titans. I mean, that's considering his tenure. Outside of Henry, maybe. Yeah, it's not close. But I mean, I I love Big Jeff. I am the owner of a Big Jeff jersey. Glad I get to keep it a little bit longer.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I believe.

SPEAKER_01

Hopefully, hopefully, if you know, my expectation is is like if he plays with his age like the remainder of his contract, may retire Titan.

SPEAKER_00

He will probably retire a Titan. And I like that. Yeah, I'm in. I'm in. Good move by the Titans. You you had to sol you had to solidify him in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I mean, one, it it's good because the last time you don't have to go through the drama of like the last time when he was trying to get the bag, you know, the deleting everything about the team. You know, think about how many times they've talked about trading him over the course of these last few years, considering how bad he is, and all he's done is just like reiterated, like, no, I don't I want to be a part of this rebuild.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he did come out and say he did come out and say that the Titans have done nothing but right by him.

SPEAKER_01

They I mean they have. Yeah, I agree. I mean, other than you know, give him actual help on the defensive side of the football, but they at least tried. They did it this year. They did the well, they tried this year. They we still have to see how it performs because we had pretty good expectations a few years ago when Rand what did what we thought was absolutely cooking when he took over the reins.

SPEAKER_00

That's true.

SPEAKER_01

So, I mean, we thought he cooked, and all of those turned out to actually be bad. It happens, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We uh he no longer has a job. That's that's good for Jeffrey Simmons. We do have a little bit of other news, not much. We don't got a ton to talk about today.

SPEAKER_01

Nah, and one last thing about the J the Jeffrey Simmons thing that I will say because it's gonna segue perfectly into the next thing we talk about. He is the example of like when we were having the conversation the other day about like I guess it's been a few episodes now, about like the young kids that get involved in like the DV situation or like make bad decisions like early in their career and the difference between like doing it in Jeffrey Simmons' case and like for Josh Jacobs and stuff like that, for example. He is the testament that you can be a dirtbag as a kid and actually like learn from it, grow from it, become a way better person. Like, I mean, like I don't think he's had any kind of I don't even think you I've heard any kind of negative story about Jeffrey Simmons since he came into the NFL, other than him like talking crazy to people and keeping it a buck with like the reporters and shit.

SPEAKER_00

His his DV case was real because it was before he was rich.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah, they were trying to get a bag. The next crash out we potential crash out we're gonna talk about could be a bag collecting attempt.

SPEAKER_00

I think it is, because if it's true, it's it's not even close. It's by far.

SPEAKER_01

Well, if it's true, I'm cooked.

SPEAKER_00

If it's true, it's by far the crash out of the year.

SPEAKER_01

No, I still wouldn't even call it the crash out of the year. I would. He did do some foul shit. The reasoning that she the things that she said about him aren't necessarily a crash out thing. I mean, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Let's just get straight into it. It's Geno Smith, somebody you never thought you would hear as a DV case.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and and seriously, like I feel like the last person that I would expect to hear in any kind of DV thing is Geno Smith.

SPEAKER_00

The claims are that he doesn't take care of his special needs child and watches porn and plays Call of Duty all day. Buddy. Let me tell you. If just those last two things are true, if he's watching porn and playing Call of Duty at the same time. That's diabolical. He's disappointed. I want to know, yeah, that's like a he needs help mentally. If he's on the game and he's talking to his homies and there's porn playing in the background, man, he's going to hell.

SPEAKER_01

His agent, his agents hit him up and said, Hey, Gino, we got good news, man. You're getting traded to New York. He was like, Bet, I can watch porn with Abdul Carter in meetings. And they were like, too bad, buddy. It's the Jets. He's like, oh fuck. That's kind of insane. That is really insane, though.

SPEAKER_00

The videos, there was also a video. The video's super fishy. There's not a ton of context behind it. It's kind of just her throwing out a bunch of claims, saying that he beat her ass. And her yelling at him. And she's on the phone with the cops. I don't I don't know. I don't really know what to make of it.

SPEAKER_01

So, like, my takeaway, my takeaway from the video was my initial thing was in my head when I was watching the video, and he was like on the phone with somebody. I don't know who it was. I wonder if it was somebody like maybe like an agent or one of his friends or something, but he was like, She calling the cops, man. And I was like, the way he said it, I would have been like, he's cooked. Because he's saying that because like he did it and she calling the cops and now he's about to get in trouble.

SPEAKER_00

But the so the case. But then the cops pull up to the crib and he doesn't get arrested. Right. So it that immediately for me is like, okay. And if I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure, and people can fact check this, but I'm pretty sure in a DV case and the cops pull up, somebody has to get arrested unless they suspect it's a lie. Yeah, correct.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like, and it goes back to the conversation that we were having the other. Obviously, we don't know what this woman looks like. I wouldn't expect a Geno Smith to be with a, you know, larger woman that could throw bangers with them. So I'm expecting this woman to probably be, you know, five, three, slim. Yeah, you know, the typical hundred pounds. The typical athlete chaser. So I feel like if, you know, you talk about you beat my ass, is what she said. Like you just beat my ass. If he first off, if he hit her one time, she's probably marked up. I mean, you're talking about a fucking professional athlete. 100%. This isn't a small, it's not me punching, punching you. You know, I'm not a big guy. But you're talking about someone who's what, 6'3, 240. Yeah, he's like 40.

SPEAKER_00

6'5, 6'6, 230. He's a large guy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, you know, this guy beat your ass, and the cops pull up and he don't get arrested. I'm going to assume he did not beat your ass.

SPEAKER_00

It seems fishy to me that he didn't get arrested. It obviously doesn't show that there was enough evidence on scene to have arrested him. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And I think for me, for my thing with it is, is if that part of it's not true, like if he actually didn't beat her ass, then he I'm not going to assume that he also probably does not watch porn and play video games that are taking care of himself.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Like, that's just her being salty.

SPEAKER_01

So, like, yeah, it and for me, what I would think is if the if she's lying about one of it, she's lying about all of it, and she's salty because like he don't want her, or like, you know, he done he done got another chick, he been cheating or some shit like that. Right. Geno Smith doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that would even really like get mad. You know what I'm saying? Like, like he's the kind of person that gets mad, but he's not like yelling. Right. Like he doesn't think he like look to the guy that would give me kind of any kind of violent vibes. Like, we're talking about a guy that got rode off and didn't write back.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he's used to being wrote off.

SPEAKER_01

Man. And then then not only that, you know, they if you sleep on him, you know, he's just gonna wake you up. Let him keep sleeping. We're winning.

SPEAKER_00

If this was true, the Jets would be so cooked. They'd yeah, well, they'd be even, yeah. It would be the Cade Klubnik show who you told me.

SPEAKER_01

They would have had an opportunity, they would have had an opportunity to make up for Geno Smith's nefarious actions that could potentially be true.

SPEAKER_00

However, the NFL said no.

SPEAKER_01

They said we're gonna make sure that the Jets do not draft this kind of talent at quarterback and ruin his career.

SPEAKER_00

I guess we can just hop straight into that. So this is dude, look, this is actually crazy. Like what the NFL came out and did today was actually nuts.

SPEAKER_01

And guess what? I I feel like we're gonna have different takes on this. So I can't wait to I can't wait to get into this.

SPEAKER_00

I don't like I don't I'm not saying I disagree with what they did. I don't know if it's like I don't know if they're actually able to do what they did. So Brendan Soresby had applied to enter into the supplemental draft, which doesn't happen every year, but that's because there's not players in the supplemental draft every year. So the last one that took place was I believe was in 23, nobody even got drafted in it. And then before that, I think it was 2018 or 2019.

SPEAKER_01

Which is crazy because I feel like the only person that I remember ever even being drafted in the subtle supplemental draft was Terrell Pryor.

SPEAKER_00

Josh Gordon?

SPEAKER_01

I didn't even know that. Well, I probably knew it, I just didn't remember it. Like off the top of my head, the only one I think is Terrell Pryor. Because wasn't that when they did that uh like sign like selling the autograph shit for the bowl game?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I mean look, both Josh Gordon and Terrell Pryor ended up being pretty good. Josh Gordon was it would have been one of the sickest. Yeah, he would have been one of the sickest. But yeah, so it's not something that's terribly common. So there's years that it doesn't happen because that's just because there's nobody in it. There was gonna be somebody in it, somebody that most people thought of high value. And the whole gambling thing has come up for the reasoning of the NFL saying, hey, we're not gonna hold the supplemental draft this year. So they cited that. Did you read, like you read like the full affidavit? No, I didn't. I just I just read the headlines of Adam Schefter.

SPEAKER_01

So I'll be able to fill you in, it might make a little bit more sense.

SPEAKER_00

So what I read, what he's what Adam Schefter said was that they didn't have time to look into the gambling issue, which is crazy to me, and then they didn't want to cause a distraction to teams before the season. How accurate is that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't understand that part of it, but the full affidavit that they say, which I mean it's pretty long, so I'm not gonna read the whole thing, like read it obviously, but like the important parts of it is so basically what they said was when apparently whenever Soresby like applied for like the supplemental draft or whatever, like filed his shit, it was based off of basically like his reasoning for applying it was like he had been essentially banned from the NCAA for like the gambling shit.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_01

But and then they cited the the fact that you know they they said that they didn't have enough time to investigate everything that the NCAA had found. But part, but also too, is Brendan Soresby didn't all he also didn't like include any of that in his petition, like any of the investigation findings or anything like that. He was basically just like, I can't be in the NCAA, so I want to apply for the NFL supplemental draft. They also said that they hadn't had one in years, and they were originally like not even apply like they weren't going to do a supplemental draft at all this year before this, and he had applied like three days before the deadline. And I guess his applic application was almost just like him writing on a paper saying, supplemental draft because I can't play in the NCAA. And then they also started like citing like you know the fact that they needed to like make more take time to like do their own due diligence on like the gambling thing and stuff like that because of like the integrity of the game and stuff like that, and your in and the NFL stance on it and whatnot. And then they said at the end of it, you should probably just start working on your preparations to enter the 2027 draft.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I they're not wrong.

SPEAKER_01

I don't look, I that seems you I feel like you think he should be in the supplemental draft.

SPEAKER_00

Uh I don't it doesn't bother me one way or another. I get it. It's it seems fair to me. I know that his lawyer, his super duper high-paid lawyer, has come out and said that this is against the that immediate action was gonna be taken and blah blah blah.

SPEAKER_01

But like honestly, for me, bro, like here's the thing. Just feel like when you come in with that hanging on your head, it's kind of hard. Like the for me, I don't even like the fact that like they were talking about him being a first or second round, like using a first or second round pick to be able to take him in this draft. Personally, me, I feel like he shouldn't have a chance to get in the NFL. Like, I mean, from just the perspective of like you you had a gambling addiction. Yes, I know most of it wasn't on anything doing with your team, but you did bet on your team at some points, even though you bet for them. At some point, with all of the shit that's going on in other leagues, like the NCAA gambling scandal, the NBA shit with Chauncey Billups and John Tay Porter, and like all the other people embedded in that, like not only that, like you can't you can't have that kind of risk in your league because one, we already questioned some shit being rigged with like referee decisions and shit, timely cause and no cause. So it's like you can't have, especially considering it's a quarterback and it's not gonna be a like it's a quarterback that people are talking about before all of this shit was going to be a first-round draft pick next year. Yeah, it's somebody that can actually affect the game. Yeah, you can't have that. You can't have that in a league when you're already like getting scrutinized for thinking the shit's rigged, but at the same time, it's like I also see it from the other perspective is like from the NFL, how are you gonna shit on Brendan Sorsby for gambling while you turn on the fucking TV and see your athletes working with gambling brands, and you're literally promoting like they're all sponsored by fair draft. Yeah, like you are you as a league are like partnering with these leagues yourself, so it's like they also like it almost feels like y'all are the ones that can be in bed to shit on us, but like the people that are a part of it can't be a part of it. Like we don't want everybody to win, just us.

SPEAKER_00

There's also the hypocrisy of you cut the TV on every other day and there's a new domestic violence. Like there's some new NFL player that's beat his girlfriend or wife. Yeah, and I and I don't like they get second chances. I just, you know, like he will be in the NFL probably. Yeah. I mean, I feel his draft stock's definitely plummeted. Yeah, he'll be some, you know, he'll be like a sixth round waiver next year. Unless he, you know, he'll he'll 100% be in the combine, and if he goes crazy and has some.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I just feel like it's gonna be so hard to like take a for a team taking one, you're still gonna have this hanging over. It's not like this thing's just gonna like disappear. It's like, oh, he took off from football for a year. My thing with it is is if you're gonna let him come in the draft next year, like, why not just let them come in this year? Like, let them enter the draft. If the team wants to take a risk on them, let them take the risk. And look, you're doing so pending investigation by the NFL.

SPEAKER_00

It it makes the risk a lot smaller for teams coming in next year, though.

SPEAKER_01

Well, yeah, but fuck them. If you want to, if you knew that this was a thing coming into it, you still wanted to invest that potential first-round pick, you take that risk if you want to, and then when we do our due diligence, if we decide he's not gonna be a part of the league, then you fucked up by taking a chance on a dude who went against the integrity of the game.

SPEAKER_00

He was definitely a dirtbag with the bet and shit.

SPEAKER_01

I just feel like everybody else, like if we look at the precedent outside of uh, and really the only way that they were getting away with it is they weren't actually betting on games that they were involved in for or against their teams. They were just betting on other shit at team facilities. But like in the history of most sports, people that are involved with these games, when you're involved in a gambling scheme of like any kind, you're out of here. Which I mean, you know, Pete Rose, he only bet for his team, got banned.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but he was.

SPEAKER_01

Then you got you had fucking Ed Hockley. Not Ed Hockley, not Ed Tim, what's Tim? What's the name? Was it Donahey? The dude for the NBA, the ref.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, hey, his story's fucking nuts. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But but you gotta think, bro, you think how many people involved, like honestly, that haven't been caught yet. Like, even NBA, all the bro, there's so many people that are out here playing their part in this shit. Didn't the ones that are getting caught, I just feel like are just fucking retarded. Like, I feel like I could I could manipulate gambling on unders by not faking injuries and shit. Like, I could just go and be weak as fuck. Like, if my line's 24 and a half, like I know I can go get 22 and nobody and not and then suck, and nobody's gonna go, oh, he just got cold down the street. Just had a bad game. Yeah, he just my line's 24 and a half. I balled up to 22 and a half and just started getting locked up.

SPEAKER_00

He just fell apart at the end.

SPEAKER_01

Didn't have the clutch gene. And then we're just like, oh, he just collapsed. We didn't know he was gambling.

SPEAKER_00

He's good, he's good. Quarters one through three.

SPEAKER_01

Man, people get that eighth rebound, and then all of a sudden.

SPEAKER_00

Just it never happened.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I my lot my rebound line's 11 and a half. I got 10. We're up 30, but guess what? I'm gonna keep playing. And as soon as I get the over, we're out of here.

SPEAKER_00

That's happened to me a lot.

SPEAKER_01

It's happened to me a lot, too. Like you know, you know that there's gotta be some nefarious activity.

SPEAKER_00

It's actually happened to me so much that I I for real, and you know me, I was a big props guy. You you gave up on them. Especially, especially before Kentucky legalized, you know, DraftKinks and FanDuel. I was always on underdog betting props. And, you know, you get cooked one too many times. You know, a guy has six assists in the first half, and he needs seven for you're telling me this man came out and played two whole quarters. Man, and didn't get a single assist. That's crazy. Like, you know that there are streaming. Oh, he must have gone for 40, right? No, he had 12 points. Yeah, right. Oh, he played 28 minutes. He played the entire second.

SPEAKER_01

This line has hit this line has hit 20 out of the last 20 games. It seems that I am the black cat. 92% of the public's on the the over. All of a sudden, he gets right up to the line early in the game. Vegas made a call. They said, hey man, 92% of the public can't can't get rich off us, man. We're gonna need you to shoot.

SPEAKER_00

That's what that's what we're gonna do.

SPEAKER_01

All of a sudden you got point guards playing center and shit.

SPEAKER_00

That's what Parallax is here for, brother. Man, wow. Well it's here, it's here to take away the dirty player prop parlays that you guys put in. That's right.

SPEAKER_01

Because we're just looking for value.

SPEAKER_00

It's here, it's here to take away, it's here to it's here to take away the seven legs, the seven legs plus thirty two hundred, which you're gonna put in.

SPEAKER_01

You mean you can just put a good little minus one ten or plus seven. Seven different times. That's right. You got seven chances to win.

SPEAKER_00

I'm telling you, brother.

SPEAKER_01

And all we gotta do is hit 55% and we're rich.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, you know, maybe not rich, but maybe you have some gas.

SPEAKER_01

We're rich in time. We're rich in time. No, so so the the goal is once we get this operating properly, the way that it should, and get all the data and get it working and everything, it's basically going to be like an investment portfolio for gambling.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

So the more you put in, the more you get out. So, you know, you we're gonna be making chump change because we're probably gonna be starting with, you know, $100, making two, three dollar bets in volume. But you know, eventually that $100 is gonna turn into $200, that two will turn into four and six, and then you know, those two dollar bets turn into ten dollar bets, and we just keep stacking. Man, and we look, you know, we done built up a ten thousand dollar bankroll somehow, and then we start betting $100, and we, you know, then at that point, you know, three to five percent on ten thousand every day, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I can promise you. When I when I make a hundred dollar bet, I will be locked in. I will be locked in as if I'm a coach.

SPEAKER_01

Buddy, I'm locked in on every bet. If it's a dollar, ten cents, a hundred. If if I have a bet in, I want to win. I don't care how much I got invested in, and I'm locked in. Yeah, I get that. There's value in being right. I know like more than. the monetary value of winning. There's more value in saying I know what I'm doing.

SPEAKER_00

So I got B, I got BK, man.

SPEAKER_01

Ball knowledge, man.

SPEAKER_00

There ain't nothing better than hitting picking that plus 250 dog. That's all this that's all this $3 was for is to show my BK.

SPEAKER_01

Man, I don't know, hey man, the whole world is on, you know, Buffalo Bills money line against the Cardinals, but we're sharp.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if I'm going to be that sharp. This is I was thinking about this the other day when we started doing Raleigh versus Parallax. I because you know like there's obviously going to be games that I pick that parallax picks.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

So like the way we'll end up having to do it is we'll just have to go off the picks that aren't the same. Yeah. And that'll be the record that we go off of. Yeah. And those those days because I'm sure it's going to happen. And it happens every year in the NFL like, you know, there will be a game like the Cardinals versus the Bills.

SPEAKER_01

I mean it might not be that I remember a few vividly. I I can remember not last season but the seasons before the Dallas Cowboys losing to the Cardinals is like a minus 900 dog.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah right like it and it happens every year.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah I mean it seems like it happens fucking every week.

SPEAKER_00

It's the it's the great thing about it's the great thing about the NFL is the parody of it. Yeah. And you know I'm going to get real nervous I'm going to get real nervous those weeks where Parallax decides to take the New York Jets versus the Buffalo Bills and I'm like what?

SPEAKER_01

Hold on I'm like that's an easy you're like you're like hold on I was thinking the spread was locked right well it's like Green Bay no I've never I'll never forget I'll never forget bro the last season I said I literally went public. I feel like this happens every time I like go publicly and just like hey this is like a bet you put your life savings on. Thank God nobody likes me and like listens to me. But I'll never forget it was the the Browns and the Packers I said I said the bread the Packers spread is is a bet that you just put every dollar amount in and like don't even like look at it until the until you know you just wake up and know that the bread's in your account.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

And buddy they lost as like 14 and a half point I was like this spread's covered. Yeah right and then the Packers come out and score what like six points or nine points or something like that.

SPEAKER_00

That'll be the thing that will be the that'll be the funnest because if it starts to call like if it's able to start calling some of those upsets that do happen I mean might not be every week but it seems fairly regular. Yeah and it starts to call those I mean it's a game changer.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah we got I mean we got a game changer either way.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just saying that like because you know like sometimes you have a feeling I mean that's where you become real sharp. Right. Like sometimes you have a feeling but you never want to act on it. Like sometimes you'll feel that like oh man like this is a this game like the weather's going to be shit.

SPEAKER_01

It's the Browns it's you know like surely the Ravens aren't going to go into Cleveland and shit the bed but I mean if that's come out and shit the bed yeah right but you and you feel that way like you like you feel you're like man the weather's going to be terrible and it seems and and you know it seems like that happens at least for me which I'm sure you you're going to say the same thing. For me it's like I have that initial like I'm putting this on here this shit's a lock and then as you're putting it in you're like man I really shouldn't do this because the odds really aren't great. Like you're really just putting it on the ticket just to get that few extra you know that's like you feel like there's some shit. You're like this is going to be you put your ticket in and then you're like oh this shit everything else looks good and like as soon as you put it in you're like this is going to be the one that fucks me and it's the one that fucks and it's the same reason that we'll send each other the bet and be like who sells this? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You know what I'm saying? Because if if if I send you something and I ask you and I'm like yo who sells this and you say the same thing that I was thinking yeah typically then I'm like oh like maybe this wasn't just a feeling like maybe this is real.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Like maybe maybe the way that I felt that this could sell me is actually going to sell me because like you see it.

SPEAKER_01

You see the same thing. Yeah typically and I think that's probably it's kind of the I think about it a lot. It's kind of one of the things that I feel like like is is and almost in a way like hurts us here is like we we feel the same type of way about a lot of things.

SPEAKER_00

Like we don't disagree enough with our sports takes well I mean we're also not experts yeah no we're not but we're also not like we're not out here trying to be like hot take central I mean we have hot takes but we don't come out here and say no hot takes that we don't actually believe in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah like so something so out first take like like we're not first take like we're not first things we're not calling Calher hey look hey LeBron we're good Ben Simmons is here.

SPEAKER_00

I would never I would have never said like I wouldn't have said that even if Ben Simmons was still good. I wouldn't say that if LeBron would have been 40 when Ben Simmons came into the league. Right. Like I wouldn't have said that.

SPEAKER_01

We're not good without LeBron like you're not telling me that's how he actually felt either yeah like I don't believe that yeah and Skip Bayless like that how much Skip Bayliss like shits on LeBron. Yeah right yeah like he can't you just say like at that point you just like you might say some shit like that and then like you get the click so you just gotta keep you just got to keep those disingenuous like I'm not afraid to be wrong. Like I say my opinion and I honestly believe it and if I'm wrong like I'll say that I was wrong but like I'll also like I I'll be I'll come out and say look you know I was one I was wrong but I'll also at least so like with some things like I'll say well this is the reason why I believed in the take anyways like when dude in our dynasty league gives me shit about what I said about Will Levis and I'll say like look there was video evidence of me being pissed off when we originally drafted him I'm gonna buy in to anybody that my team selects because there are they're my it's my team yeah like I don't care if I like the pick if I'm wrong I want to be wrong. If I hated fucking Will Levis the draft pick I'm not gonna cheer against him because that's bad for my team to say I'm right.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah and see we're we're we're the same way in this aspect everybody always asks me you know I'm a big Grizzlies fan everybody always asks me oh what are you gonna do when John Morant gets trapped I'm a obviously a huge John Morant fan I'm gonna still be a fucking Grizzlies fan brother yeah okay look just because I'm a big thing on the front we cheer for the name on the front I swear like just because I'm a big jaw morant fan doesn't mean if he goes somewhere else yeah I'm not gonna be a Grizzlies fan anymore.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah but and part of it that goes into it is you're a Jaw fan. Well I mean you liked him before that you would have liked him before you know you probably still I mean you probably still love the love him after the gun shit. But but I mean you would have liked him regardless of where he went into to into the league just because you liked him as a player. Yeah 100% like you're not gonna like oh Jaw doesn't play for the grizzlies so like I hate him now. Right. Like you know you're not gonna be like necessarily cheering for but I'm also not gonna become like a fan of whoever he goes to well I don't respect that shit. Like I'm just like once he's out of the Grizzlies uniform he's just another player in the end unless you come out here and you say that like I like this team because so and so's on his team and I'm following him to whatever team he goes to that's fine. I'll give you a pass for that I'm just not gonna respect it by like you claiming you know don't say us you just talk about like the only thing you should be able to talk about is that player you're a fan for.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Like yeah I fuck with my team I don't be like I'm a Donovan Mitchell fan but man did you see Isaac out there playing great defense tonight.

SPEAKER_01

No like Don and Mitchell I cheer for the cheering for the player like just cheer for the player nobody else I just I can't get down like that. And people always look at me like like even when I'm like gambling on it I'm not cheering for that team to win I'm cheering for my parlay to hit and I do literally I picked I'm literally on record saying that the biggest chance of this big three in this NBA draft tonight like Cameron Boozer to me is has the best chance of busting cause not a fan. You weren't a fan yeah I wasn't the biggest fan look he's a grizzly now I'm a huge I hope he's sick yeah but and you but guess what if you're proven right you're like well at least I was right right yeah if I'm wrong I hope I'm wrong right yeah you want to be wrong because that benefits your team like you don't want to be like oh yeah I don't fucking like the same I don't like boozer because I thought like he was gonna be weak but he ain't right like Derek Henry like I hated Derrick Henry when the Titans drafted him because of like what I mean it still was true like his I was like he's not gonna he doesn't fit your average you know their modern NFL game style but like I mean you know he came out and he just instead of not what he proved me wrong he became the best running back of this generation but it's not because of he well of what I I mean he was what I thought he would be out of the draft like a good running back. I didn't think he'd be at fucking 2,000 yards or he wasn't great his first year. Well I mean he wasn't great he wasn't he also didn't get a ton of opportunity but like I was just like well his game was like it's just not gonna translate so like I don't think he's gonna be great in the NFL and then he turned around and was like okay I'm just gonna be the best running back ever. It was like okay well I was still technically right because his fucking game didn't fit he's not a great receiving running back that he doesn't even play on receiving downs. Right. So I was still partially right why I didn't like Derrick Henry. He just proved me wrong on the other side of it and became a fucking dog.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah still a dog he's one of those real outliers man real outliers Titans Titans have a knack for a for a good running back. That's why I wanted that's why I was like if Jeremiah Love comes to Tennessee it's destiny it was going to be great regardless.

SPEAKER_01

Speaking of Jeremiah Love did you see what he said today? I think it was like either talking to him about something they were like he was like he how he was happy to like be like share like being in a committee kind of in a way to like not have to take 30 carries and stuff. And they were like they were like I mean you don't want to be a guy and this isn't real news it's just funny. He's like you don't want to be a guy you know getting 30 carries a game for what? You know we might play 21 games this year and I was like who the fuck who the when are the Cardinals playing 21 games in a season he said we might play 21 games this year.

SPEAKER_00

I said buddy they're probably gonna shut you down after week 13 counting the preseason games brother that's all it is I know it's not playoff games Carson Beck gonna lead him to the promised land.

SPEAKER_01

Nah man Jacoby Brissett's gonna have to realize like you just not getting the check buddy like I don't know like I don't know how to feel about that situation.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like Jacoby he's only wants to get paid because he's a starting quarterback they should have never they really fucked up the Cardinals the Cardinals fucked up basically being like look you're gonna be our starter you should have never told him that I shouldn't have got rid of Kyler Murray. You should have I I don't even care that you got rid of it was stale in Arizona for Kyler Murray. Like it was fine but like it's probably better for him to go I'm saying that like you fucked up because you told him he was going to be the starter so logically in his camp why wouldn't you be like well you're gonna pay me starter money if I'm gonna be a starter well because he already has a contract.

SPEAKER_01

I know yeah I know you should have just been like look buddy you're the starter but it ain't because we necessarily want you to be the starter it's really because you don't have a choice we don't have a choice I wouldn't even have said that I would have just been like look you're gonna be in competition right like you'll be in competition like you know and then spend the entire preseason giving them second team reps I wouldn't even have done that and then be like all right here you go you're the guy you could have still given him first team reps or split first team reps here's the key here's the key to the Ford Pinto you just make it seem like you're gonna start Carson Beck. Like make it seem like he's not gonna be the starter and then I just feel like I just feel like for me I don't know man I'm just a real ass guy. So like if I was Jacoby Bassett and I was like look okay I'm a starting quarterback but like realistically I'm like the the 32nd best starting quarterback so like you know you're only a starter on that team.

SPEAKER_00

He may have gone 0 and 8 when he started last year. He looked good doing it he was on pace for like 5,000 yards. I mean bro he was throwing the ball like 45 times a game yeah he was on it was something like 5,000 yards like 40 touchdowns like he was on pace for some super gaudy no 0 and 17 record well don't worry don't worry the the Rams got to go through the Arizona Cardinals man okay they could probably go through the they could probably go through the Arizona Cardinals with their backups they will if they play week 18 they they absolutely will both fourth quarters they play they're gonna they're gonna cover the spread in the fourth quarter with the backups the Rams backups will be in the game hey shit I mean look here's my thing bro if you go up fourth quarter 21 point game fuck it let let Ty Simpson get some live reps in the blowouts. Well I I guess it could happen but if if Matthew Stafford's having another MVP type season he'll play every down.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah but but I mean you know he won't if he comes in and he's put us up four touchdowns in the first half it's 35 to zero halfway through the third I mean you know no need for him to keep going you could yeah no I get the at that point you know it ain't like you're it ain't like the MLB where like playing Ty Simpson like goes against his you know that hurts your service time before you become a free agent like your contract's the same so it's like you might as well like give him some live reps while you have the ability to I agree I would do something like that.

SPEAKER_00

I just it doesn't ever I feel like more teams should do that with their Stetson Bennett it'll be Stetson Bennett who fun fact this is how we'll end the pod Stetson Bennett went I don't know what was he at Georgia like seven years? Yeah yeah right he finally went back and graduated oh my god bro I wonder how fast he drove to get there how the fuck first off how the fuck did you not graduate bro was taking like what were you doing? Shh what were you doing?

SPEAKER_01

He was like I graduated in terms of football I like genuinely I have no idea how you didn't graduate from school yeah bro how do you not graduate in seven years and then you see like some people like graduating like after three also what was his degree at football football speed racing he just got a degree so when he you know when his little five six year career ends in the NFL he can go and be a high school football bro people thought Stetson Bennett had a chance to like be a guy. Yeah and then he went AWA That's okay bro Sean McVay believes maybe his high for talent's not as great as we think it is yeah I mean he I guess he did kind of get some things dropped in his lap. Who? Matthew Stafford He inherited Jared Goff took him to a Super Bowl which I mean that team was absolutely fucking loaded. Right it wasn't because of but Jared Goff yeah but look I hate when people say that because if you go look at Jared Goff's that numbers that year they weren't terrible like even the run through the playoffs wasn't terrible like he literally played like shit in the Super Bowl against like literally the greatest defensive mind we've ever seen in football. That's true too who literally spent his entire career doing that to damn near everybody.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah it just you know what it reminded me of it reminds me of what we saw out of Drake May this Super Bowl got there looked good getting you there and then played shit the bed in the Super Bowl played a great defense got shown okay you're not with a what I would consider a great defensive mind behind the helm of it and yeah shit the bed.

SPEAKER_01

So do you feel so do you look at do you feel like Drake May's not the guy? I wouldn't say but yeah but and you know and another thing too is Drake May didn't look great it at all in that Super Bowl in that run to the Super Bowl he didn't look like he didn't look good I mean granted I mean we talked about it while it was going on I mean he did go through five top five defenses he had 88 passing yards against the Broncos. Everybody that he played was a top five defense.

SPEAKER_00

That's fine. He played four of the top five still got to be able to figure it out or was it three?

SPEAKER_01

No they had the two seeds they played the Chargers Texans Broncos Seattle that's that's literally and them there those are the top five defenses were the Patriots the Broncos the Texans the Chargers and the Seahawks you wouldn't say that Jared Goff's not a guy though Jared Goff's I mean especially at that moment in their career though after think about how people looked at Jared Goff after that. Yeah it was completely different they were like you can't win with this guy.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

I mean I mean you know I mean it's kind of proven right because you switched him out with Matthew Stafford and immediately win a Super Bowl but you also didn't fucking play Bill Belichick in that defense. It's just tears to the there's just tears to the court and not only that at that point Goff was in what his third year? Yeah like he ain't been in the league long enough like I feel like if you took today Jared Goff and put it on that Rams team then like he's winning the Super Bowl.

SPEAKER_00

You could probably take the Jared Goff now and put it on the Rams team now and then win the Super Bowl. I like Goff yeah I think Jared Goff's a good guy like he's a good quarterback in his division and I think it's arguable he's the best. Well look anytime you put Jared Goff in a dome buddy you're dealing with a guy okay need that home field advantage if you put him it doesn't matter the dome as long as it's a covered field with some AC.

SPEAKER_01

You like that huh Jared Goff would be the best quarterback in your like utopia NFL where everything's in a dome. 100% big dome big yeah I am one of the he should be leading the charge for big dome absolutely I will help him lead the charge.

SPEAKER_00

Jared Goff if you find this holler at my boy y'all can petition the NFL to make every stadium a dome I don't know who would be against that I don't know why you would be against it not everybody's a pussy like Lambo and Lambeau and December fucking love that shit. I know they do look me and you mean you went to one of the most miserable games of my life and I was absolutely miserable and guess what? It was horrible I fucking loved it I would do it 10,000 times my feet didn't thaw out until we were 45 miles down the road I felt like we got halfway back to St. Louis before I actually felt comfortable again. Bro it was cold as fuck. But guess what if if the Titans were in the AFC championship again and they were playing in Foxboro and the weather said not only is it going to be three degrees but there's going to be about two feet of snow I would ask you and I said I said hey bro we we hitting the road to Foxborough and here's my response I would ask you like damn did they get a dome in Foxboro?

SPEAKER_01

And I'd be like hell nah but you and I'd be like and I'd say the same thing that made our decision the last time I said bro I mean it's been 20 years since the last we don't know when we're gonna get to another one of these and that literally was after I said we were like I don't know they're kind of expensive and then I said bro it's been 20 years we don't know when we're gonna back and you're like yeah fuck it let's do it I won't say that again I think you will I think you would I learned my lesson bro that shit was the experience regardless of if we lost or not that was one of the best experiences of my life and shout out to the Kansas City fans that sat around us.

SPEAKER_00

Man because we was talking shit they were cool people they was talking shit nobody got mad. Yeah they were cool people man they definitely looked at us before we left after they won and they were talk crazy you say yeah y'all got a long ride home now don't you like they were like hey man y'all be careful in the parking lot like oh fuck like yeah I ain't here for that gang I ain't that bad I was like it's way too cold for me to be fighting right now man it's too fish shit.

SPEAKER_01

My feet feel like glass somebody your fucking legs gonna cut off my feet feel like glass right now if a fight broke out I'm getting the trunk beat out of me bro I remember like that shit was so cold not only was it cold as fuck but like it was like 15 20 mile an hour winds it was horrible it was one of the worst it was like the real feel was like negative 10 the it not only was it one of the worst experiences of my life but I also watched my team blow what a 17-0 lead I think it was 17-3 17 maybe 17-7 whatever and what and what what's crazy is is like I go back every time I watch this like we literally called it when that happened when Pat Mahomes had that fucking run right before half that led to that drive that stupid when they fucking we act like he was going out of bounds and took the fuck off like we literally both looked at each other that moment and said fuck we just lost AFC championship game bruh we were that close man I yeah I mean look it was cold as fuck but that was a great experience for me I mean it was sad as fuck losing that was a quiet ride home.

SPEAKER_00

Like don't hear what I'm not saying. Like I'm not saying it wasn't a great you just said it was the worst experience of your life you said not only like physically like being cold like I've never been colder facts like I've never been colder in my life yeah like it hurt to walk it hurt to touch anything and we're in here at the top of the stadium and we're in here with fucking hand warmers feet warmers on seven layers of clothes fucking and couldn't even tell man you would have thought we was in that bitch with nothing it was the worst and it was fat all it was fat and them people was loud well brother that's it that's episode 27.
