NFL schedule release day finally fed the streets. We broke down the best primetime games, the brutal schedules, the teams getting set to fail, and a little chaos like always.
Welcome to the cave. Episode 22. Big schedule release. Insane. How's Justin Butler feeling? As a Titans fan or like an NFL fan? Yeah, all the above. Dude. We're gonna have I feel like both sides of it. We're in for a good year. It's gonna be an action-packed show. We're gonna do some more foreshadowing. We're gonna go ahead and get our bad predictions out of the way now. So that's what that way when they're wrong, we can say, oh, well, you know, I mean, we made these in May and just stuck with it. Yeah. You know, we're we're not gonna have a take and then we believe in take integrity. I'm not gonna say anything that I don't believe in, and and when I say it, that means I believe in it, so I gotta stand on it.

SPEAKER_04Maybe. We're gonna get right into it. I'm gonna read off the Titans schedule, and you're gonna tell me wins and losses.
SPEAKER_02How you feel about that? I feel pretty good. I mean, I don't feel good about we'll talk to a couple other team schedules today, too. I I just, you know, us being Titans fans. I've always got to lead off with our boys. Week one is against the New York Jets. Oh, that's a dub.
SPEAKER_00You know, ironically, I feel like both of these teams, everybody's going into this season and they're like, oh, it's the Titans versus the Jets. These are gonna be two bad teams.
SPEAKER_02I feel like both of these teams are gonna be, I'm not gonna say they're gonna be good by any means, but like they're gonna be a lot better than what people are going to expect. Our head coach and our OC both get the revenge games. I love it. I love it. So we're going dub, so we're one and oh. I'm going, I'm going one and oh. Okay. Start out the season one and oh. Week two. You get the Eagles. I'm gonna go ahead and chalk that up as an L. One and one. Any particular reason why you think the Eagles are a better football team? Yeah, I mean I do too. You know, I'm not a big Jalen Hurts guy, but outside of that, their roster's pretty fucking good, and it just seems like, you know, once again, I'm looking at this roster and say, how the fuck do they have to do that? I think I'd actually disagree. I think you're turning into a Jalen Hurts guy. No, because my reasoning for the believing in the Eagles has nothing to do with Jalen Hurts. I think you're becoming a Jalen Hurts guy. No, in fact, I think you could put any quarterback, any average, like any of the top 14 quarterbacks, and this team is just as good. What if would what if you switch CJ Stroud and Jalen Hurts? I look at them the same. I I would take Jalen Hurts over CJ Stroud. Jalen Hurts has never thrown four picks in a game, I don't think. I don't even care about that. I mean, they're not great. Neither of them. I don't like either of them. He doesn't turn the ball over. It's excellent. That's fine. He doesn't throw the ball a lot. It's excellent for the ball. When you let him throw the ball more than 30 times, they're cooked. Maybe. No, I mean that's like statistically proven.
SPEAKER_04I don't know the exact numbers, but Yeah, I know the stats you're talking about. Week three, the New York Giants. Second revenge game.

SPEAKER_02It I believe the field will be real grass. I don't know if the I don't know if they're taking the grass up after the FIFA World Cup or not. Well, I will say, one of us made a trade for Malik Neighbors and the turf was part of the reason why I traded Malik Neighbors in Dynasty.
SPEAKER_04So you hope they do.

SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, how much money are they about to make off the World Cup? A bunch. I want to hit on we're gonna have to hit on that in one of these episodes. So we're we're two and one. Week four, we start with the the Baltimore Ravens. I'm gonna go L on the road. We're two and two. Uh week five. I'm gonna say we're at home. I'm gonna give us a dub against the Texans. We're probably gonna lose that game, but once again, it my hatred for CJ Stroud and what he's become.

SPEAKER_02Man, it could be dangerous. I don't think he'll be back, but it's just in Indy, so it's just, you know, I gotta give. I I can't say we're gonna sweep everybody in the division. So I like that you're being realistic. We're three and three going into week seven against the Browns. I like I like the Tennessee Titans. Okay. No, Miles Garrett doesn't concern you. I mean, he does, but I look across there and it's like, is Deshaun Watson gonna be the quarterback? He they have said that it is his job to lose. Which is crazy. That's how bad you hate Shador Sanders. That's just how much you're paying the quarterback. That's what happens when he's guaranteed like 60 mil. No, I'm pretty sure it's they hate the media's hate, they hate Shadur Sanders so much that they made Shadon Deshaun Watson a likable guy. Yeah, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_04How is he even in the league?

We're coming up on the bye week, week nine. It's a good bye week. Still, yeah, it is right in the middle of the season. Love it. Week 10. It's the Jags at home. I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go loss. Okay. We are now under 500. That's fine. We're about to play. We are a four and five football team in week 10. And we're going to play the Dallas Cowboys, week 11. And buddy, we're coming home. Two games under 500. I just Dak Prescott that offense. I like what they've done with the defense. I believe in the Cowboys. I believe in the Cowboys too. And that's odd coming to it. It's funny because we're right on pace. We're literally neck and neck for what I did when I was by myself doing this. Week 12. Away. One of their few home games.

SPEAKER_02I'm going to give us I'm going to give the Titans the win there. I don't see us getting swept by anybody in the division. Alright, we're five and six. Back home against the Manders. Then we're going to take another loss. Alright, what are we? Five and seven. Yeah. We're going to go ahead and say I'm and Ross St. Brown's going to have a big game. In week 14 against the Lions. Yep. In Detroit. Fantasy season and season shutdown fantasy season finale. And that's an L. That's going to be an L. So we're 5-8. All right. We got to get hot.
SPEAKER_01Okay, but look, we're right. Unfortunately, we are dead nuts from what I did. And so, and so here's I think this is where we're going to have our biggest discrepancy.
SPEAKER_02And this is here's goes. I've got us going win, win, win. Hold on, hold on. We go. So we got the Colts at home. That's a win. It's week 15. That's a win. So we're 6 and 8. Yep. We got the Raiders on the road. I'm taking 16.
SPEAKER_00I like us. I don't believe while I do like what they've done in free agency.
SPEAKER_02I like, you know, obviously you've got Mendoza, who's going to who knows what they're going to be doing at quarterback. You expect at this point in the season Mendoza. Mendoza is 100% an Aura farmer. That dude be farming aura. I like what they've done, but I like what the Titans have done more. So he's going Raiders. So we're back. Are we back to 500? No. Yeah, we're 7-8. We're not back to 500 yet. And look, it's it's we come back home to the Steelers week 17.

SPEAKER_02I like the Titans to beat Pittsburgh on there. I don't believe in a 43-year-old Aaron Rodgers. Mike Tomlins gone. He did announce his last season. Last ride. Last ride for Aaron Rodgers. It could still be a thing. He could still do that celebration and get away with it. He's going to have to for one last ride. But I like the Titans to win there. So we're eight and eight. Season finale. As much as I want to say we're going to finish our season above 500. You can't do it. I just don't see it happening. We're going to lose to the Houston Texans. We are 8 and 9. For the division. Oh, that's going to be the game for the division. It's going to be for the 7th seed because Jacksonville is going to win the division. I didn't forget. I it's funny, you're eight and nine. I was seven and ten. I uh actually have us lose in that Raiders game. Okay.
SPEAKER_00So is it I'm pr so we're probably pretty close on most of the game?
SPEAKER_02Everything else was dead nuts. Interesting. Even like the home win against the Titan the Texans? Yeah, I did. I had that. Interesting. I had us beating the Giants. Had us beating the Jets. Yeah. I mean, and you know what? As a Titans fan, eight and nine. Wait, did you pick the Bengals to win? Yes.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, okay. Yeah, no, we're we're pretty we're pretty close.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so as a Titans fan, look, I mean, you know, obviously, you know, you'd like to see a winning record or a playoff push or play out, like make the playoffs. I don't know how realistic that is. Yeah, I mean I'm I mean, I'm not saying it's possible. Like looking through this schedule, like they say that this is the eighth easiest schedule. It seems like a little bit of a gauntlet. Yeah, I mean, outside of uh it's weighted heavily down by the Jets, the Giants, the Browns, and the Raiders. But I expect the Jets to be a better team. I expect the Giants to be a better team. I mean, I don't expect the Browns to be good. I don't I don't expect the Raiders to be good. I think they're gonna be a little bit better, maybe like five, six wins. Right. But I mean, like, when I look through this, I'm like, based on how I look at these teams project their seasons out, like, I don't think that this is the eighth easiest schedule by any means.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna I'm gonna I look I it's I feel like it's one of the easier schedules.
SPEAKER_02But there's I just need to look around in every team schedule. Like, I don't see the Rams have an absolute gauntlet. An absolute gauntlet. Let me read this off to you.

SPEAKER_02We got Sam Fran, week one, Melbourne. And Australia mate. You come back, you come back home to SoFi next week, get the Giants. That's a good game to come back from.

Commanders. Cardinals again. We'll love it. Bye. Then we come back from the bye. It starts getting a little sweaty. Man. Packers. Chiefs. San Fran. Dallas. Seattle. Tampa. Seattle. Buddy. That is a run. I've got to take. That's a run. I've got to take. What is it? I don't know if the Rams are going to make the playoffs. Oh, shit. There's just too many. It's a gauntlet. It's a gauntlet. There's too many toss-up games, man. Like too. I mean, well, not even say toss-ups, but I mean, you're telling me. They play the Packers in Sofa. That's still that's one of those teams. Play Dallas in Sofi. These, like, their like their schedule seems like for me is like, man, it's really. They can't afford to lose a lot of these games. Especially when it comes down to like let's with the expectation that like we still expect the 49ers and the Seahawks to still be good. Right. Like, they're definitely not a 12 tough.
SPEAKER_04Here's the thing that makes it really tough. The thing that makes it really tough is you lose your home game against the Niners. Yep. Which isn't really a home game for you because your fan base fucking sucks. But Big Bang Niners. Right.
SPEAKER_02But you lose that you and you're fucking 20 hours away from home. And that's a divisional game. Which is crazy. Yeah, you don't really want to lose that like edge. Like losing the home game and it's a division game. I guess we can we can bring this up to today, actually. What is this, the 20th of May? The NFL came out and said that no game is off limits to be an international game, and there will now be up to 10 games. So there's gonna be an another one next year. Japan is what they're doing.

The worst game is the Black Friday game. What's the Black Friday game? Broncos, Steelers. Yeah, it's not great. But I'll take that. Yeah. I'll take that after. You never know what you'll get out of Aaron. You're taking that after. I mean, you give me Chiefs, Bills, two division games. Yeah, Black Friday, I'm chilling anyways. Man. Black Friday, I'm sitting on the couch all day. It's just extra football. That's gonna be a superb, superb uh. Now, now hit me with the Christmas Day games. Because if I'm not mistaken, they absolutely went after the NBA's net. Man, they showed him. I mean, and you know, and what's crazy about it is is the NBA typically does a pretty good job. Yeah, 100%. It's one of my favorite things to do on Christmas Day. Yeah. Sit down and watch all the NBA. Not no more. Yeah. You catch a highlight. Because, buddy, we got Packers, Bears, Bills, Broncos, great, Rams, Seahawks.

SPEAKER_02So one, a lot of people said though didn't like the oh, every team gets one at least one primetime game. I was a fan of that because I feel like every team in the NFL deserves an opportunity to showcase their team to the country. Like have their time in the spotlight.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but then you were getting you were getting Titans, Jacks, Thursday night games.
SPEAKER_00And guess what? Thursday night football always sucks. It's fine because it what it goes back to your point. Just like you said, if let's have these stupid ass international games, guess what? You're still gonna watch it. I'm still gonna turn on and I'm still gonna watch.
SPEAKER_05I don't care if it's the Raiders and whoever the two worst teams that are gonna be. Like you could tell me that they're two winless teams.

SPEAKER_02I feel like especially especially when you're telling me that, yeah, you're it it it I get that. Like I can understand I feel like it's a privilege to get prime time game, but you shouldn't be able to go two years without a primetime game, especially when you have a number one pick. I was having a conversation with about somebody at with about this at work. I think the NFL misses an opportunity.
SPEAKER_05I think like either the first Sunday night game or the Monday night game, because you know they do the doubleheader thing, should should have like the number one overall pick should be involved.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Like, for example, like a couple years ago, like when Caleb and Jaden Daniels went one and two. I remember that. That should have been week one, Sunday night. They did end up playing a they did, but I'm saying for me, like that should be a week one thing against each other, too.

SPEAKER_02Everybody, regardless of what team it is, who it is, like that number one pick, especially when a quarterback has a different level of like expectations and excitement going into it. Look, I'm gonna be honest.
