We're Not Experts
We’re Not Experts is a podcast hosted by two guys who’ve somehow survived 15+ years of friendship and now think that qualifies them to talk into microphones. We’re average early 30’s dudes with very strong opinions and very average credentials—which is exactly the point.
We’re sports ethicists in the loosest sense of the term, breaking down the morals, madness, and mayhem of a wide variety of sports… but let’s be honest: football will absolutely hijack the conversation. We can talk about other sports. We just won’t stop talking about football.
Expect passionate debates, hot takes that cool off immediately, arguments that go nowhere, and the occasional moment of clarity that surprises everyone—including them. Stats may appear. Logic might leave the room. Confidence will always be high.
We’re not analysts. We’re not insiders. We’re definitely not experts.
We’re just two longtime friends talking sports the way most people do—too confidently, for too long, and with absolutely no credentials to back it up.
We’re Not Experts — and neither are you, so you’ll fit right in.

Is the sub station theory dead? Falcons drop new uniforms, Kirk cashes in again, Justin shares big news, and we prove (again) we can’t pick March Madness games. Just another day in the Cave.
Live from the cave. From the cave. This is episode 15. We're not experts. Man, we're back. What's been going on, my man? Chilling.
SPEAKER_01Chilling, man. We had a solid week. Still, we're 2019 days out from the NFL draft. Not much on the news front. No, there's a little bit. Bagman struck. Hey. He's the goat. The Falcons drop some new uniforms. They are trash. They're not great. I really we'll just jump right into the Falcons. Getting some new uniforms. What are your initial thoughts? Ah, dude. It's I don't like not. I don't like I don't like not having the black jersey. They still have it for the throwback. Oh, do they?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Or maybe, maybe I'm lying. No, yeah, they do have it for the throwback. With the old logo.
SPEAKER_01I don't love the red. I think that's my big take.
SPEAKER_00I'm not a big red guy either.
SPEAKER_01The the white jerseys are fine.
SPEAKER_00I wish they would have incorporated more. They could have gone more like incorporated some black in the red jersey.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Here's it's just it's super plain. I don't love the logo. It's like somebody that doesn't use salt in their food. And it's Atlanta. So you just wouldn't expect that.
SPEAKER_00Oh well, I mean, Matt Ryan is like the what president. You know, he's got some pull now. Not exactly a personality.
SPEAKER_01He has beads playing chicken with no seasoning.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't know. I mean, it's certainly not the Titans rebuild or rebrand.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, shout out to the Titans, man. They did it the right way. We keep winning day by day. I like the jerseys just a little bit more day by day. Every day.
SPEAKER_00I still don't love the logo by itself. Oh, speaking of that, I remember a few episodes back when it, I think when it originally happened, and I and I'd referred to it as the shield.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And you were like, dude, nah.
SPEAKER_01Is it not the ship? It's not the shield. It's not the shield. Is it considered a shield?
SPEAKER_00And literally when the Titans dropped the branding talking about the logo, they called it the SHIELD.
SPEAKER_01Oof. It's a bad look for me.
SPEAKER_02You were grilling me about that because I kept calling it that.
SPEAKER_01T-Rex also not our mascot anymore. Thank God. We no longer have a raccoon as a mascot. I don't think of I saw anything about a mascot.
SPEAKER_00Who cares?
SPEAKER_01At least it's not a raccoon.
SPEAKER_00Did they did they confirm that?
SPEAKER_01We had trash pandas. Is that confirmed though? I don't know. I saw Paul Koharski talk about it. That's probably kind of legit.
SPEAKER_00Not a big Paul Koharski fan.
SPEAKER_01He's reputable. Yeah. He's reputable. A lot like ourselves. He's just kind of an asshole. A lot like ourselves when it comes to picking picks in the NCAA.
SPEAKER_00I do respect, I do respect that Paul Koharski like c makes it clear that he's not a Titans fan. Like he's like, I just covered the team.
SPEAKER_01Right. He's also been doing it since we were knee-high to a grasshopper.
SPEAKER_00And at that point, how do you cover a team for that long and you know not be a fan?
SPEAKER_01Because they pay you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but I mean, you know.
SPEAKER_01The Raiders could call me up today and we're like, hey, we want you to be our radio personality. I'd be like, yeah, I'll do that in a heartbeat.
SPEAKER_00I think it's kind of hard to do that and not have like some fan investment in it.
SPEAKER_01I can act like I have some fan investment. I wouldn't give a fuck about the Raiders. I wouldn't give a fuck. I would take their check and be like, yeah, black and silver, man. Nah.
SPEAKER_00I wouldn't. I'd be like, nah. I would no, I mean, I like if if I was in there, I wouldn't be a fan. I'm just saying, how do you cover a team and live in the area for 20 plus years and you're not like not have a rooting interest in the team? Cuz what do you mean? Wouldn't you want the people wouldn't you want like the market that is like, you know, like has fueled your career? Like, wouldn't you want to see them be successful? Especially when you consider the fact that like everybody in the Titans organization fucking hates him.
SPEAKER_01Do they?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, bro. Have you never seen like uh have you ever like watched any of the interviews that like when he or press conferences when people are talking and then like he asks a question, they just talk fool to him. Oh man, I didn't know that. They're just like, oh man, you I knew you'd say some shit like this, Paul. Like that shit happens all the time, bro. Like asking the tough questions, yeah, and that's fair. There's nothing wrong with that, but I mean, man, like he just be like kind of shitting on him. That's okay.
SPEAKER_01You need somebody to keep it in perspective, probably because he's from New Jersey, yeah, or Ohio or some shit.
SPEAKER_00I'm pretty sure it's from I'm pretty sure he's from New Jersey.
SPEAKER_01That would make sense. That would make sense. All right, speaking of the Raiders, they signed Kirk Cousins. Was it five years, 172 mil?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, but we're not gonna sit here and just like call it that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, was it? I think you told me it was a one-year 20 million essentially.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Is that backup money? Is that backup quarterback money?
SPEAKER_00I mean, I wouldn't. I would I think he's gonna start. Even if they bring oh, they're definitely bringing in Fernando. I mean, they're gonna bring in Fernando, but Kubiak came out and said he wanted a veteran quarterback. They got one. And you know, it's good. You're so you're going from, you know, a program in Indiana that is all of a sudden a powerhouse. You're getting some of the best coaching and all that stuff. But you know, like, you still want a veteran. Kirk Cousins coming in, stepping in. I think he can, like, you know, mentor them for one. And for two, it's like, here's the thing, it's similar to like the Cam Ward situation, right? If for me if Mendoza comes in and the Raiders are 4-12 and he looks like Cam Ward did last year, you feel differently than had he not played at all. Like seeing them struggle makes you feel worse, even though you've got a terrible roster, because clearly, I mean, you got the number one pick in the draft.
SPEAKER_01They improve the defense.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, they make improvements and stuff like that, but I'm saying if if if the if they come out and he looks like a rookie quarterback on a bad team, year two's gonna roll around and you're gonna feel totally different about like how you felt had he not have played it all.
SPEAKER_01Does Kirk Cousins make them better? In ways, from a fantasy perspective. They got any chance of winning that division?
SPEAKER_00No. I mean, I if we're being real, I d I still I don't think regardless that they're gonna be any higher than the fourth team in that division.
SPEAKER_01So Kirk Cousins doesn't do much.
SPEAKER_00No, bro.
SPEAKER_01So it's probably better to just start Fernando Mendoza.
SPEAKER_00Not necessarily. You want them to learn. You also don't want them to get crucified. I say you start him. You don't want them to die on the field either. You start him. You start him. I mean, you I wouldn't have if I was gonna start.
SPEAKER_01I don't think that there's a problem with starting them. You just have to be willing to ride with them. Like you gotta be able to go through the ups and the downs. Right. Like you can't just jump ship. Like if it is really bad and they're a three-win team or whatever it is, and Fernando doesn't look great until the last five games of the season. Like you can't go into year two being like, ooh, that was bad. Like you you should almost have expected it too.
SPEAKER_00You gotta take your lumps. Yeah, but you know, I feel like we see quarterbacks that are of that caliber, you know, having some time to sit back and learn has value too. Yeah, that's true. Tyler Shuck's a good example. But then again, the last thing you want is to put Mendoza on the bench for a year, and then year two rolls around, and you know, Kirk Cousins had a good year, and it's like, oh man, we had some success way more than we anticipated. Maybe we should bring Kirk in for another year, and then you know, we let him go instead, and Mendoza comes out and he's JJ McCarthy. You know, that's a possibility too.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's why you start him. Just to see if he's JJ McCarthy. Yeah, I think you start him to see what you do, you'll know. Like Cam Ward was bad, but there was flashes. Right.
SPEAKER_00He was bad early, but he was also immediately better after the yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the last 10 games of the season, last 10 games of the season he led the league in interception touchdown ratio. Which is impressive. Yeah. As a rookie. So you you hope that you hope that Fernando can do that too. I want the Raiders to be good for some reason. I don't. You don't want the Raiders to be good.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I don't I wouldn't say that I like want them to be bad.
SPEAKER_01I think the Chiefs more than I hate the Raiders.
SPEAKER_00I hate the Raiders, dog. I and the problem is is I hate the Raiders because I hate that stupid ass chant. Raiders, bro. Like, that shit is so annoying, bro. We have Titan U. That's trash too. But there's a lot of but we're not like yelling Titan Ull over the stands, you know? Like these people are like leading chants talking about Raiders. I feel like the only chant that I've been a part of going to a Tennessee Titans game was walking across the bridge doing the remember the Titans shit.
SPEAKER_01Oof. That's not great either.
SPEAKER_00No, that shit was kind of hard. When we were good, it was hard.
SPEAKER_01It's just stealing from something.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it is, but I mean that's fine.
SPEAKER_01It's not original.
SPEAKER_00I mean, they're the Titans.
SPEAKER_01At least Brainer, at least that's original.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but I mean, at least we're the Titans, so it kind of fits.
SPEAKER_01That's true.
SPEAKER_00Maybe it's not stealing, maybe it's what is it called? Interpolating or whatever. You know what I'm saying? We're just no we took it and like we just changed their name with our name.
SPEAKER_01Much like I'm not an expert in football, I'm not an expert in vocabulary either. You don't know what that means.
SPEAKER_00Hell no. It means like when you like take like they do it all the time in like songs, when you like take a line from somebody else's song and put it in your song.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. I see. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's like they did the same thing, which is with the chant. Like we replaced we replaced their team name with our team name. It just happens to be the same name.
SPEAKER_01Right. Yeah, I get it. I know what you're saying. Okay. I still think it's trash. I don't know. Like, I don't know if you're trying to convince me.
SPEAKER_00I thought it was fun.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, at the time. We should be like English soccer teams. Where they where they sit over there and they s you know, they sing like famous songs.
SPEAKER_00Or we should be more like like like European basketball teams and like light flares in the stadiums and stuff. Maybe going.
SPEAKER_01Them Serbian games are fucking nuts. Yeah. You remember my boy Jokic? Jokic says, that sound didn't bother me. He's like, brother, I played in Serbia.
SPEAKER_00And then but have you like seen clips from shit of those games? Like I saw uh there was games I literally see people like lighting flares in the stadium, like a ton of them. Yeah, why not? It's lit. That's awesome. We need to do that at NFL games.
SPEAKER_01I'm 100% down for that.
SPEAKER_00I'm absolutely all these domes, like shoot off fireworks in the dome.
SPEAKER_01Let's make it a tad bit more dangerous.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, I mean, you know, I'm not against that. Yeah. I mean, it's dangerous playing football. It might as well be a little dangerous to watch it. Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_01Right. It's a little more immersive. We should like what doesn't get talked about enough is like if you go to like opposing, like if you go to opposing stadiums and you're kind of a dickhead. Like people like, you know, they'll jump you in the parking lot and shit. Yeah. Yeah. Don't want to do that behind enemy lines. Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_00You're you're significantly outnumbered, like 60,000 to four.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, don't, you know. Unless you got flares on you, kinda. Or a gun. Oh. A gun, a gun definitely evens out the odds. Especially if I don't know. People get a little bit more scared if you pull out a gun.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you ain't gotta shoot at somebody, just shoot it up.
SPEAKER_01Man, you could shoot at them. That'll scare the shit out of them.
SPEAKER_00It might kill them. Maybe. Can't be scared if you did.
SPEAKER_01Jesus. What else you got? I know you got some.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. There's some draft news. A couple teams are looking to trade in front of the Tennessee Titans at three.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they're afraid.
SPEAKER_00To draft a defensive, like one of the edge rushers.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00Which kind of indicates for me that like the Titans are wanting to go with an edge rusher.
SPEAKER_01David Bailey, it is. So do you're not drafting a guy with short arms.
SPEAKER_00So if that you're not at you're out on Reuben Bay now?
SPEAKER_01No, absolutely not. He's got some dog in him. I just think it's funny. Who do you think's the best? I think David Bailey has the potential to be the best.
SPEAKER_00What do you think the ceiling is for all these guys? Like, do you think we're getting like a like an all-pro caliber edge rusher with any of these guys?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, maybe all pro, but would you I wouldn't say that they have like a TJ Watt or a we don't have a Hall of Fame ceiling?
SPEAKER_00Probably not. I want a player with a Hall of Fame ceiling.
SPEAKER_01So you would want to draft Jeremia Love. Yeah, I mean, there is a ton of people that think he is the best player in the draft. Yeah. Like just the best overall prospect.
SPEAKER_00It's the same way about how people looked at Genty last year. A lot of people thought Genty was the best prospect in the class last year.
SPEAKER_01It just it dep, you know, a lot of people's gripe is paying a running back that much.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and for me, I don't give a fuck.
SPEAKER_01It really doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_00Especially from a Titans perspective, like you're not paying the quarterback.
SPEAKER_01So like But it doesn't matter. The market's about to get reset, anyways. Right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, B. John, Jameer Gibbs, 25. Like. I'm not going to be mad paying Jeremiah Love $12 million when B. John Robinson's about to get $25. Like the market's going to get reset. And then the cash space goes up every year. So like it getting him at $12 million now is going to be a value.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I think that Jeremiah Love might be the best option for the team, but maybe long term, it might be David Bailey for the defense.
SPEAKER_00Oh no. I mean, if Jeremiah Love is who everybody says he is, you're looking at 10 years of very high-level running back play.
SPEAKER_01I'm not going to say 10. I would say eight.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I've he's 20. He's 20 or 21. You're telling me at 31 years old? Yeah. One of the drop elite players, one of the elites. We're talking the elite. If you're saying he's one of the elites of the elites, Derek Henry's nowhere, like, doesn't look like he's about to fall off the play.
SPEAKER_01That motherfucker's a unicorn. That's a unicorn.
SPEAKER_00You think, well, I guess Saquon's already started seeing some signs. Yeah. What is he, 29 now? Yeah, but what do you think? Bijan's gonna fall off a cliff.
SPEAKER_01I'm not saying it's impossible.
SPEAKER_00What do you think is more likely?
SPEAKER_01I'm saying, I'm saying that you you cannot look at Derrick Henry. We're in a new as the oh man, that's what a new running back. That dude's just a fucking freak.
SPEAKER_00I think one thing that we can that I do feel like kind of supports it in a way is you're starting to see like more usage for the backups along uh like amongst the board.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_00So like players like Bichon are starting to be more efficient. Like, it's not like Bijan's out here getting 30 carries a game like Derrick Henry was at the peak, or like how Emmett Smith was back in the day, and you know, like your old running backs. Yeah, I don't love that. You I mean, you don't love it from a volume perspective and fantasy and stuff like that, but from a like longevity perspective.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but I just also don't love it. I don't love it in game time either. Like you're telling me you love when Tyler Algier was coming in here, and you're like, man, Bijan just got these people 75 yards down the field. Well, I have Bijan. Yeah, but I'm not even talking about fantasy. I'm talking about just watching the game. You're watching the game, and you're telling me that, like, oh man, Bijan got these people all the way down here, and we're just gonna rob him. It's gonna rob him.
SPEAKER_00That doesn't move the needle for me.
SPEAKER_01I don't like it.
SPEAKER_00I chair for like the team.
SPEAKER_01I get it. First. I get it. But I want somebody. I don't care who scores. I don't care who scores. I don't want records to end up being broken.
SPEAKER_0028 rushing teams.
SPEAKER_01It just feels like they try and nerf the it just it really just feels like the NFL nerfs the running back position.
SPEAKER_00Or or they want, I mean they do, yeah, but you know, it's what the fuck you get for choosing to be a running back. But at the same time, I think we would both agree.
SPEAKER_01I would think we would both agree that a a great running back is gonna make one of the biggest jumps in competitiveness for your team.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely, and that's why I'm on board with going to get like if you get a great running back and he can elevate your offense.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like it's it's a game changer. Right. But it just they the NFL just doesn't care.
SPEAKER_00And here's the thing, when you look at it from a calf's perspective, why would I not want to pay a player like that of that caliber $12 million?
SPEAKER_01I'm with it. I would I would absolutely draft Jeremiah and be happy about it. I just I do think that it's gonna end up being David Bailey.
SPEAKER_03Or Ruby.
SPEAKER_01My perspective shift, Tid. Like it shifted. Like I was just I got to thinking about my man, Salah. He's a defensive guy.
SPEAKER_00I just think they've invested so much on the defensive side of the ball. Why not keep why not keep going?
SPEAKER_01Is that what you thought?
SPEAKER_00I just feel like you just need to make a gap. I feel like if you do you either draft Jeremiah Love, I'd I definitely don't want to see them draft a running back in the draft if you don't take Jeremia Love.
SPEAKER_01But you you kept Tajay, you kept Tony.
SPEAKER_00I mean, it's you can still get to the city. And Tony Pollard.
SPEAKER_01It's just, you know, you bring in Michael Carter, you still had Khalil Mullins, you Yeah, it just doesn't feel like there's a reason to feel like they're sitting over here saying, yeah, we're gonna draft a running back.
SPEAKER_00And I just think they should just look at it from a longevity standpoint of it. Like Tony Pollard's not a long-term option, Michael Carter's not a long-term option, Tajay's not a long-term option, Mullen isn't a long-term option. So, like saying, Oh, yeah, we got somebody for a year or two now, and then like two years from now, you're gonna need a running back, and guess what's not gonna be available?
SPEAKER_01Uh what, Jeremiah Love?
SPEAKER_00Right, right. I get it. Or a Jameer Gibbs or a B. John Robinson. And historically speaking, when you look at running backs that go that high in the draft.
SPEAKER_01I'd say, here's what it really tells you. This is what it'll tell you. Because Borganzi said this a couple different times in a couple different press conferences. He has said that the Titans are gonna draft the best person available. So we'll just learn. What we'll learn is who the Titans thought their best person available was. And if it's anybody other than Jeremiah Love. You don't think his talent evaluation skills are great?
SPEAKER_00I mean, oh, it might be better than mine.
SPEAKER_01Maybe. I mean, we're not experts.
SPEAKER_00Definitely not, but let's just say the Titans draft David Bailey, and the, you know, whoever drafts Jeremiah Love, because it's gonna be Tune afterwards, right? So, you know, when David Bailey comes out, let's just say he comes about and David Bailey sucks and Jeremiah loves the goat, then maybe I am the expert.
SPEAKER_01That doesn't feel good. It doesn't make you feel good.
SPEAKER_00I just I don't know. I just feel like when you got a young quarterback, when you look at like, oh, the cat, blah, blah, blah. I I would just prioritize like having real like building your offense around your quarterbacks in the most way. And there's no better way to compliment a young quarterback than with the with the great running back play.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I agree with that. I I just every time I I feel like like when I talk Jeremiah Love, it makes me get hope that we could win now. And I just don't want to get my hopes up for that.
SPEAKER_00I mean, there's always someone that can go's worst of first. I mean, I feel like either way it goes, it's gonna ride on the growth of Cam Ward regardless.
SPEAKER_01Agreed. So Cameron Ward. Let's hope he's the man. I mean, what what are your expectations of Cam Ward going into next year? I think that a leap should be taken. You just, God, you just pray he doesn't go into some year two funk like Stroud.
SPEAKER_00I just feel like Cam Ward's just been in the lab.
SPEAKER_01What you really hope is what you hope to see is something like Caleb Williams.
SPEAKER_00And I feel like that's potential. That like that, I feel like that has potential.
SPEAKER_01Like you don't want to see what happened to Jaden Daniels. You don't want to see what's gonna be. Right. He still played eight games and he wasn't great. You you don't want to see what happened to CJ Stroud, he wasn't great. You you want to see you wanna see a you want to see a leap. It doesn't even have to be a massive leap. You just you don't want to see a step back.
SPEAKER_00So what do you so so what where do you say the leap for Cam Ward in comparison to a quarterback level at this point? Like what do you mean the leap? Who do you want to see him in com comparison to what quarterback?
SPEAKER_01If it well look, it'll really determine what we do. Our offense, if we draft Jeremiah Love, I would expect our offense to probably take a big step forward. Right. Like I would expect Cam Ward to have 20 to 25 touchdowns. I feel like that wouldn't be great. I would have 16 though as a rookie.
SPEAKER_00As long as those 25 touchdowns come with you know low interception numbers.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you you you you don't hope for over at least 10. Right. You throw over 10, we're like, oof. You hope for that, you get maybe 39 to 4,000. 4,000 breaks the record for the Titans, doesn't it? Uh maybe.
SPEAKER_00Unless unless Tannehill, did Tannehill get 4,000 one of those years? I don't think so.
SPEAKER_01I feel like he did. It was very play action heavy. It's play action heavy.
SPEAKER_00There was some explosiveness in that.
SPEAKER_01There was. I don't think he ever, because he got 33 touchdowns that one year he was in the MVP running.
SPEAKER_00So then you're saying that you'll be happy with Cam Ward, say, becoming 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. I think, I mean, I'm not asking, I'm not asking for that. I'm not saying that he's gonna be great, though. I don't want to I don't want to sit over here and be that guy. That's not the hot take I want to deliver.
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean, the hot take that you should deliver is just your opinion. It doesn't care.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's my opinion.
SPEAKER_00Ryan Tannehill did not go over 4,000 yards.
SPEAKER_01Was it 3,700?
SPEAKER_00He had 38 one year and 37 one year. But the 3,800 year boy, he looked he was an MVP. 3,800, 33 touchdowns, seven picks.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he went crazy.
SPEAKER_00What if Cam Ward becomes 2020 Ryan Tannehill?
SPEAKER_01That would be fantastic. We would be pretty good at football, too. We'd be a good team. Anytime your quarterback is.
SPEAKER_00So you're saying 42 Aaron. So if Cam Ward is 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers.
SPEAKER_01Like you say that and it makes it sound bad. I mean You're talking about maybe like the But if he's saying that, but if you're saying that and you're like, hey, they're a 10-win football team.
SPEAKER_00Like, are they a 10-win football team? They won't be a 10-year-in football team with a 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers this year, I don't think. I mean, I'm the Steelers were. Well, do we think that well, I mean, were they a 10-win football team because of Aaron Rodgers? No. Okay. I mean, he played his part, but I mean, we saw them be a non-10-win team for the past decade with whoever. Duck Hodges.
SPEAKER_01Duck Hodges.
SPEAKER_00Mason Rudolph. Kenny Pickett.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. That's true.
SPEAKER_00I just I don't Mike Tomlin ain't walking through them doors no more.
SPEAKER_01It's hard to compare it to a 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers when you know Aaron Rodgers isn't going to be a factor. Right.
SPEAKER_00I was just, I was just fucking with you there. No, you weren't. More along the lines of who? Like, who is your comparison from like that you think Cam Ward is going to be? Like a factory?
SPEAKER_01For like a year two?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, like Caleb. That's what I mean.
SPEAKER_00Not year two. I mean like what level of play do you see in comparison to like how the quarterbacks played last year?
SPEAKER_01From year one to year two. Is that what you're asking me?
SPEAKER_00No, no, not just going from year one to year two. Is that what I want him to be forever? For what where the where do you see Cam Ward going this season to compare to like the level of quarterback play that we saw from the NFL league? Is he like a good question? We're talking like a Dak Prescott caliber. I would that would be you know that'd be elite. Yeah. That'd be a top 10 quarterback. So maybe not that high.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I was about to say, like, that's kind of you don't want to say like a Justin Jordan. Maybe like a Jordan Love? I would love that too. You like Jordan Love. I don't nah, let's not go crazy. I mean, I don't love Jordan Love. But so if he plays at a Jordan Ward. He is he is 100% a starter in the NFL, though. So if Camelstar.
SPEAKER_00If Cam Ward comes out and he's Jordan Love, what do you think that takes the Titans ceiling to next year?
SPEAKER_01I think we could be a fringe playoff team. I agree. A fringe playoff team. I agree. Depending on, you know.
SPEAKER_00Wondell's gonna get him 100 catches this year. Can I bet that? I'm sure you can. I don't know if the lines are like out currently.
SPEAKER_01Speaking of speaking of betting, we should maybe tell the people what what we got cooking up. More important what more so you got cooking up.
SPEAKER_00Oh we want to introduce the world to something.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You should let the you should let the world know what you got cooking.
SPEAKER_00So I the really the main reason why the volume and the uh and the amount of episodes we've been dropping and how long it takes me to get it out from recording to uh you know dropping it is I've been creating. What you've been creating, man. Bro, so I built nah man, it's not that's not meant for the people. It's not meant for the people.
SPEAKER_01We'll we'll when it's ready to go live, we'll launch it. Nah, man, you gotta give people you gotta give people something to look forward to. Just know I'm doing people know. Let me ask you something before you say that. Do they not show you movie trailers before the movie ever comes out? Uh huh. I guess you kind of gotta put you gotta go put it. You know what I'm saying? Is there not something to get the people excited for? That is fair.
SPEAKER_00Let's get the people excited, man. So I've been working on a on a gambling module.
SPEAKER_01Alright, what's this gambling module do?
SPEAKER_00It well, it does a lot. I'm not gonna like go step by step, but essentially what it does is it it uh finds value in betting lines compared to compared to things like, you know, to Vegas lines. So it's looking for primarily value in particular bets more than the actual prediction of like what you know X is gonna win versus Y. Right. It's looking for like, oh, there's value on this at this price because of this. Right. It takes projections and stuff in there. You know, it's designed for straight bets. That's the only thing that this system's going to be tracking. However, we're gonna have like long shot parlays, so just like some of these 12-leg long shots have 700 plus 700,000 odds.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna have some of those. So let me ask you a question. All right, is this is this something for somebody like myself who's not an expert in just about anything, this is something that I would want. Right. Like I enjoy, I enjoy sports betting, but I don't win enough. This is something that could maybe give me an edge.
SPEAKER_00Or just or not only that, it that, yes. I absolutely an edge is what we're looking for. But you know, like it's just you're looking for more than just that. You're just getting you're taking away like the human aspect of it, right? So like you look at things, and there's certain things that'll sway you one way, like, oh, you know, this person's sick, so of course he's gonna drop 20 because it's so and so.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00Or, you know, things like that. This takes into account everything, the things that you don't see. So you're looking at it from a different perspective. So like this is looking at it, and it's taking into account pace of play, so like possessions, like how many possessions per or 100, you know, a bunch of stuff. So pace, injuries, back-to-back fatigue, home and away splits, offensive and defensive ratings. And it's and it's it's filter, it's different. Every sport is obviously this is tailored for every sport. So we've got 11 sports: NFL, NBA, NC, NCAA basketball for men and women, tennis, UFC, you name it pretty much. We got it. All the major American sports are in here.
SPEAKER_01So you dirty degenerates that be betting on Korean baseball at three in the morning, you cannot use this.
SPEAKER_00A timeout, because we will have something for those people as well.
SPEAKER_01Oof, never mind.
SPEAKER_00That is coming in time. I lied. Because that I mean, that's actually like a major sport. It's like that's a major league. Like the MPB and stuff and KBO, like those are bigger leagues still.
SPEAKER_01Shouldn't be betting on them. Stay on.
SPEAKER_00You know, in time, in time, I'm telling you, this is gonna be a game changer. And when NFL season comes back around, there will be a segment that incorporates this. Yeah, 100%. And I'd mentioned, you know, it's a shift in your perspectives. And that's actually what the what the name is kind of inspired by. Do you want to tell the people the name? It's called Parallax. Okay. Parallax. And we already have this gambling segment, not name in mind.
SPEAKER_01Man, we're gonna be able to answer our own.
SPEAKER_00When the football season comes back around, it's gonna be the parallax picks. Sponsored by Parallax. The same person who owns 50% of we're not experts.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right. It's okay though. Because, you know, it's gonna be something.
SPEAKER_00And you know, look, for a while after this thing gets rolling, we might gatekeep this to just people that listen to the pod. We might just drop these picks on the pod. It's actually not a horrible idea. If you want to get the picks, you want to get access to this, you have to tune in to the pod.
SPEAKER_01Is this something that the people could expect to be public one day?
SPEAKER_00I don't know, man. Look, bro, just to give a little bit of go a little bit deeper in it, I thought about that. Like, obviously, when you look at it from the money perspective of it, that you could because like obviously, like, I'm not gonna put this out in the world unless it's something that's profitable. So, like, every pick is tracked. This this thing calibrates and stuff like that. So, like, obviously, if this is successful, this is something that could definitely be put out to the world and paid for. Like, you could definitely get a subscription for this if I wanted it to be, man, but that's not what I intended it for. I intended it to uh my intentions behind this were to change my life and the people's lives around me. Okay, this might not be a product that can be purchased, you know. This might be a this might be a gift to the people that have supported me who've been there for me.
SPEAKER_01It might also be a product that could be purchased. I'll work on that, folks.
SPEAKER_00You know, that could come, but you know, I'm not greedy, man. I'm not greedy. Yeah, neither am I. So, but you know, not everybody's in not everybody deserves this blessing.
SPEAKER_01Parallax pics has a ring to it.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01This might just be for the people that support me. It it's probably gonna have a higher I'm not gonna say that, man. I get on I get on some rolls during football season. I can roll three, four weeks in a row, son.
SPEAKER_00Well, look, we we just really got everything put into place. So like the model is actually like running for like the first couple of days that it's done. And so far, out of 20 logged bets, we got a 70% win rate. That's if you were and this is just running one or two dollars, we are up 17. Hold on, I can tell you the exact off of $1 bets, we have a total profit of $13.17.
SPEAKER_01If you were betting large sums of money.
SPEAKER_00If these were $100 bets.
SPEAKER_01And you had bet and you had bet $100 on all 20 of these bets. Yeah. Well, yeah, I'm saying large sums of money, like if I bet a thousand dollars a bet.
SPEAKER_00You would be up over thirteen grand.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like you would be you would be in a day. You'd be a very happy, you'd be very happy individual.
SPEAKER_00Right. And this is just gonna be something.
SPEAKER_01Just to give people when you're sports betting, you don't even really expect the great ones, the great sports betters are hitting just above 50% normally.
SPEAKER_0055, 60% are like the greatest. Right. And I mean, you know, early returns on here, we're at a 70% hit rate.
SPEAKER_01So if that's sustained, you would be the GOAT.
SPEAKER_00I already am the GOAT, brother. The world just don't know it yet.
SPEAKER_01I mean, 70%'s incredible.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, we got a we got a 14 win, six loss, and this is gonna be in volume as well. So, like, this thing is designed like it's so intricate. Like, you following this path, like, can literally like you don't have to look at anything. Like, you could literally take this, wake up, and just say, okay, I might not think this is wins, but I'm just gonna put it in there just because let's just say, you know, I know 70% historically is gonna hit, so let's just say 70% of these hit and the work is done for you, right? You don't have to think about it, you don't have to have an opinion because it's you know just mathematics.
SPEAKER_01Well, I must tell you it is impressive. Appreciate it, bro. I'm glad you've taken the time to do this, man.
SPEAKER_00And it's only going to expand.
SPEAKER_01I cannot wait until Parallax picks.
SPEAKER_00We can start running it in other sports now, but you know, this is an NFL podcast.
SPEAKER_01I uh well, look, I I if we did, I it shouldn't be March Madness. Boy. No, sir. Hey, look, maybe just maybe I don't want to give my picks. I don't want to give I I pray the the few people that listened to the pod didn't go and put in anything I said. Boy, we went over because I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00Now I will say my final my my final four picks yesterday when I was talking to my brother, I did hit both of those. I did have both of those. I didn't bet on either one of them. Did we both say that Arizona was gonna win the ship? Well, I originally said Duke. Oh like I was all in on Duke, right? And then you came back and you said, well, we both agreed that Arizona had just been beating the shit out of everybody. Yeah, that it was a big thing. At the time of that, in the back of my head, I completely forgot that Michigan had also been beating the shit out of everybody.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, turns out they were the team that was gonna beat the shit out of Arizona, yeah. That was horrible. That game was terrible.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, the Duke Yukon game was insane. Yeah, like coming back from 19 points down, the way Duke blew that at the end, fucking terrible.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, dude, Dan Hurley has an aura about him. My boy headbutts the ref. No tech somehow, no tech. No tech called.
SPEAKER_02He said, he said, I thought the ref was trying to show me some love for the shot.
SPEAKER_01Who stares down somebody like that? Bro, he headbutted him. Who stares down somebody like that? Yeah, I mean, he got glasses to eyes.
SPEAKER_02And half of his suit jacket was hanging off his shoulders.
SPEAKER_01And he's looking at him like he would fuck him up. It was almost like it was almost like I would not have taken that as he was trying to celebrate with him.
SPEAKER_00It was almost like the ref told Dan Hurley before the game that he had put a hundred bands on Duke Moneyline. I swear.
SPEAKER_02Like, I swear to God, bro. Like, why why I just want to know why he did that.
SPEAKER_01I swear. It's like he said something about his mom. And then it was like Dan Hurley hit the shot.
SPEAKER_00Hey, Dan Hurley is a psychic. He came out before after they won the round of 32 game. He said, you know, these Huskies, man, when they get out of the first weekend, they win a datty.
SPEAKER_01They're dangerous.
SPEAKER_00Well, look.
SPEAKER_01Well, we might as well finish the tournament now. Who do you think wins? Michigan or Yukon?
SPEAKER_00I think I think this game's gonna be better than expected.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Like I feel like you probably think Michigan's about to come out here and beat the shit out of Yukon. I don't. I don't think that. You think it's gonna be a good game? I want to pick UConn. I think I'm gonna pick UConn. After my boy, look, Wallace had uh Wallace had Illinois, and I told him when he said that, I said, I don't know, bro. I said, I think I said, I think UConn about to come out here and and and get this dub, and I didn't. It's funny again.
SPEAKER_01Because I put in a two-legged parlay.
SPEAKER_00And it was you had Arizona Moneyline and Yukon. Illinois. Oh, he went over two.
SPEAKER_01Went over two.
SPEAKER_00That's tough.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's tough. Went over two. I'll never if somebody asked me, if somebody asked me like, hey man, I'll give you fifty dollars to pick some college basketball games for, I'd be like, but you'd be better off lighting that $50 on fire. Hey, look, next year when it rolls around, $50, take that $50 and go put it in a slot machine.
SPEAKER_00Or, or just you know, next year's gonna roll around and it's gonna have it's gonna be different. Yeah. Because we're gonna have parallax. But it's not gonna be me.
SPEAKER_01It won't be, I won't be able to say those are my picks.
SPEAKER_00You know?
SPEAKER_01Part of the part of the reason I I like giving out picks is because I want to be right.
SPEAKER_00Well, look, you can always just pick yours up, pick, throw yours out. Oh you know, you can make your picks, mine are just gonna be a little more educated.
SPEAKER_01Mine will absolutely be uneducated off of what I feel.
SPEAKER_00Now don't get it twisted. A lot of gut, a lot of gut and intuition. There will be there will be things that this system is going to input that I'm gonna be like, fuck no. Like when they say, you know, whoever's playing the Titans are gonna moneyline. No, I'm not betting that.
SPEAKER_01Because your heart won't allow it.
SPEAKER_00I'm not gonna bet against my team. I don't give a fuck if the model tells me that they're gonna beat them by 100.
SPEAKER_01Depends on how accurate the model is. If the model's super accurate, I'm gonna ride.
SPEAKER_00I'm not going to I'm not gonna tell you that it's on there. I'm gonna have it filtered out. Tennessee Titans. That's not included. I'm gonna be making intuition picks on the Titans. You're gonna have to, bro. I'm never gonna tell you to fade my team. That would be wrong to do that.
SPEAKER_01That's true. Look, the good thing, the NFL next year, it's it's there's there's a couple teams where you can already tell they're gonna be two or three win teams, so those are locks every week.
SPEAKER_00Right. That's gonna have that. Nah, bro, it's gonna tell me, this is gonna tell me to pick shit like the Browns beating the Packers.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, okay. I'm not gonna love that.
SPEAKER_00And guess what? You would have put that bet in last year and you would have won.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's true. That's yeah, that's fair. I'm just every week it's gonna be like I hate the Dolphins, I hate the Cardinals, I hate the Jets.
SPEAKER_00That's and you know what? Look, I'm sure that I'm sure the model will agree. Like, I don't like the Browns. I don't either. I'm sure the model doesn't either. I mean, it doesn't, I mean, just early returns on it. It doesn't love teams that are supposed to get well, I guess some of these picks do like teams that are gonna get the shit beat out of them, like the Jazz. Currently, here's you know, we'll back test this. It says the spread for the day, this is an A plus rating. Utah Jazz plus 24 against the Thunder. It likes this a lot. It said put two units on there.
SPEAKER_01I should I should go bet that.
SPEAKER_00Two units, man. Put you two dollars on it. On plus twenty-four and a half. Oh, this just says 24, but if it's 24 and a half, that's even better. Uh, it's probably just 24. This was from this morning. I mean, you know, throw you two dollars on it, bro. And when you return, you know, a dollar eighty, two hundred dollars. Jash app me a quarter.
SPEAKER_01Um I'm not gonna cash app you anything. Oh, man. But you'll give me a quarter for the picks we got downstairs. I would I will let you know that the the it's hitting. Like, hey man, that was a great pick. Shout out to Parallax. Hey man, this is gonna speak. Can we consider Parallax as our first sponsor of the pod? Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely, it might be me from sponsoring me, but that's okay. Sometimes you gotta bet on yourself. That's right, and I'm doubling down. I'm gonna use both of these to grow both of these. I'm gonna use the pod to promote parallax. I'm gonna use parallax to promote we're not experts.
SPEAKER_01Oh, dude, here's some random NFL news I just thought about. All right. They said George Kittle's gonna be ready for week one. That's impressive. So if George Kittle's gonna be ready for week one, you know who else is gonna be ready for week one?
SPEAKER_00Patrick Mahomes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he might. Daniel Jones. Daniel Jones is absolutely gonna be ready. I knew you were gonna say that, bro.
SPEAKER_00I knew you were gonna say that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I just I figured I'd throw that in there. Uh that's I don't believe him. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00But then again, shit, I don't know. The Achilles may have gone from being a two-year injury to a 10-month uh injury in in less than a year. They just hit up what they just hit up Jason Tatum, man. They go to Germany. What's the sauce? They go to Germany. Maybe. Or they go to Panama, Columbia. They called Christian McCaffrey and said, Who'd you go talk to about your Achilles?
SPEAKER_01It's always it always it always comes back to see him see it.
SPEAKER_00There's another little piece of news. Uh, it's not really news, but you know, we had discussed this. Our conspiracy was killed. Oh, yeah. Fuck him.
SPEAKER_01It's not dead yet.
SPEAKER_00The substation.
SPEAKER_01I don't think it's dead yet.
SPEAKER_00Just said it's bullshit.
SPEAKER_01He said it's a good one.
SPEAKER_00They hired an independent scientist.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's fine.
SPEAKER_00He said we're in a safe place. He said he said it would have to be the levels would have to be about four hundred times more.
SPEAKER_01Is that a quote?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. He said that they they told us we're in a safe space and the levels would have to be about four hundred times more to be impactful.
SPEAKER_01So just hearing that, it needed to be more. More like zzz instead of so so just hearing that, do you do you think it's real?
SPEAKER_00Like you it just makes me believe more that they're sacrificing for Christian McCaffrey.
SPEAKER_01I also think that they're lying. Because if you come out and the study says, all right, man, it's actually fucked. What do you do? You can't move.
SPEAKER_00Do they relocate the substation or the team? They're like, yeah, which which one spent more money?
SPEAKER_01A bigger lot across the way here. I think we'll just build another stadium. Uh, I mean, LeBon's kind of new. I know it is. I'm just I think it's just a it's just a practice facility, though.
SPEAKER_00It's right next to the actual stadium. Oh. It's all right there. So it's just compounded. Yeah. Like you're at you're getting it at practice and on game day.
SPEAKER_01They make sure everybody cuts the lights off. Please cut the lights off.
SPEAKER_00Hey, do you think when like other teams like come in, they turn it up a little bit? You know, like maybe maybe the 49ers have a little bit, they've adapted to it a little bit more.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's like when teams go to Denver and play basketball and football on the outside.
SPEAKER_01All the all the 49ers' kids are probably super babies.
SPEAKER_00Dude. What if they are? Hey. Maybe the substation is impacting in other ways. Turn them into superheroes.
SPEAKER_01I'm just not I'm not bought in that this means nothing.
SPEAKER_00You're just invested in it because of a conspiracy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, kinda.
SPEAKER_00Not not even necessarily the You've already told the people that you just want to be right.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, this is true. I'm not saying that I can't not believe it. It just seems, it just seems like one, it was like a super quick investigation. Right. It was like a month, two months. Well, how long should it you feel like it should take? A year. I feel like it wasn't thorough. They just wanted to make it look good for the people. Yeah. I mean, what are the odds this motherfucker actually went and investigated?
SPEAKER_00He was just like, nah, bro, that don't sound good. Let me just go.
SPEAKER_01That's not even how he went for a report. That's not even how it went. The 49ers just hit him up. They're like, hey, you're an independent scientist. We're gonna give you a large sum of money to say that this is okay.
SPEAKER_00Well, they could have paid me to do that. They could have changed my life. Man, but you don't have to I would have showed up in the lab coat.
SPEAKER_01I'm obviously a scientist.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01I have a lab coat.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. And there's a pen in it with a notepad.
SPEAKER_01I uh so you know, I'm just like I feel that the NFL maybe should do an investigation. The 49ers have stake in it not meaning anything, right? Because if it does mean something, nobody's gonna want to be like, I'm going to I'm going to San Fran. Man. Where my hamstring might not last nearly as long as if I was in Las Vegas. That is true. Look, the true test will be the true test is they got a guy that pulls his hamstring every year in Tampa Bay. So in Mike Evans. So if he comes out here and it's week one, five minutes into the game and he pulls his hammy, it's legit. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It ain't even gonna take that long, bro. It's just gonna be like training camp. I'm fair. He's gonna go run like his first route in camp and he's gonna be like, Z, got him. Man. He's like, oh, I felt it. Now it felt like a sound wave going through my hammy.
SPEAKER_01If the inverse happens, and the inverse being that Mike Evans ends up playing an entire 17-game season with zero hamstring injuries, then they're just sacrificing. I'm gonna know I'm gonna buy into a conspiracy the opposite direction. That the substation is helping them? Yes. That's an unfair advantage. That's funny as fuck. That Christian McCaffrey can actually play until he's 40. Man. Because of the substation. And it was never that they were sacrificing people to make Christian McCaffrey better. It was that they had this unfair advantage of a substation electro electro like charging Christian McCaffrey up. Turning Christian up.
SPEAKER_00Man. Man, dude. You might be a s a scientist. Allegedly. He's not an expert. We're not experts, but we're gonna try. You got a lab coat, and that makes that'll that'll make you look like you're a scientist after this take.
SPEAKER_01This is true, brother. That's unless you got something else. You got anything else? I don't. That's episode 15 in the books. I got something for you for you for before we get off here. I think you'll appreciate this. I want to hear it. This is this this kind of goes along the lines of what you've been doing. Life has no remote. That's right. Get up and change it yourself. No cap. Mark A. Cooper. That is facts. We'll leave you on that.
SPEAKER_00We'll leave you on that note. Hey, make sure you like, subscribe, share with your friends. Be on the lookout for parallax. As always, we'll see you guys on the next one.
